Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 1983: Chapter 1963:

”The Sand Beast fears fire.” Long Tu was stunned for a moment before he spoke, instinctively glancing at the torches in their hands.

He was well aware that these were essential tools for entering the cave, because oxygen fuels fire. If the torch goes out, it means there’s no oxygen and they can’t simply enter.

So even if the Sand Beast liked fire, they still had to keep them lit. This was for safety reasons and couldn’t be casually changed.

But now it was clear that the Sand Beast didn’t dare approach them. After all, there was nothing special about the path ahead unless there were really some special traps inside.

But in such an environment, the Sand Beast could survive and have survived for so long, at least ensuring they have a source of food. So there was no need to pounce on any living thing recklessly, being cautious made sense.

Moreover, if there were any traps, given the Sand Beast’s intellect, they would hardly notice. It would require countless lives to discover, but the Luminous Pearls and Crystal Balls that just rolled down didn’t have any collision sensation, which meant there was no danger on this path, right?

And now, the Sand Beast dared not approach for only one reason, and that is, the Sand Beast fears fire.

Mo’s eyes lit up, suddenly gaining a bit more confidence, but he couldn’t help but glance at Long Tu’s direction, wondering how he knew this.

After all, no one had studied such things in depth. Unless personally proven, what’s written may not be accurate. So, they would have to experience it to know.

Luo Qianqian swallowed, her fingers instinctively hooking onto Mo’s clothes, gripping tightly.

To her, directly facing it might be okay, but the unknown was the scariest.

As their steps slowly advanced, shadows finally appeared ahead, accompanied by small fragments of Luminous Pearls, suddenly making everyone more tense.

After all, no matter how you look at it, it indicated that what they were seeking lay ahead, didn’t it?

”Don’t go any further.” Mo looked at his feet, frowning slightly. It seemed the sand was stuck at a certain point ahead, disappearing from view, possibly indicating a boundary? Below lay the Sand Beast and above were other traps?

”Shouldn’t the Sand Beast be a docile animal?” Luo Qianqian swallowed and couldn’t help asking. After all, one rarely sees other creatures in the sand; wouldn’t they be simply attacking others without fear of causing disaster?

Mo was silent for a moment and didn’t speak, but instinctively looked toward Long Tu as though waiting. Without hesitation, Long Tu slowly spoke: ”The Sand Beast actively attacks, not only is it not docile, it’s an extremely ferocious creature. According to the books, the Sand Beast is very hard to kill, and its shell is extremely tough... ”

Luo Qianqian was instantly more terrified. What was this? It actively attacks and is hard to kill? So, had they chosen a dead-end road?

More than just a dead-end, it seemed like one that most people would only want to retreat from.

Mo also felt somewhat depressed, his luck turning out to be this ’good’...

”It’s okay, it always has a weakness.” Luo Qianqian, seeing Mo’s somewhat dejected appearance under the fire’s light, hurriedly comforted him.

What a joke, if the leader becomes discouraged, what will they do? How would they continue?

Considering, if no news was sent out, the academy would soon dispatch a second team, wouldn’t it? After all, compared to other forces, the academy had a unique advantage.

After all, people from the academy had no barriers to going to the back mountain, at most just some mental pressure.

Opportunities and dangers coexist, and not everyone has the luck to gain something, but ultimately, one can’t give up without trying.

So the old headmaster was fair, with selections at the academy’s arena. The top ten ranked on the day qualified to enter the Forbidden Land.

Those ranked within the top twenty qualified on the next day.

So no matter what, the academy was always bustling, except for He Wenyu, who was still in seclusion after being caught off guard...

Luo Qianqian looked at the shadows ahead, remaining silent for a long time, unable to decide whether to continue. After all, obvious danger lay ahead.

But who knew whether going back to take another route would be the same? If the same situation occurred with obstacles, wouldn’t that be a waste of time?

”Shiqi, the Sand Beast fears fire and water, perhaps you could subdue it.” Suddenly, Di Jun’s eyes lit up and he spoke.

Luo Qianqian turned her head in confusion, only to see Di Jun pointing at Long Tu and winking at her.

Was it Long Tu who said it?

Luo Qianqian was momentarily surprised.

”Actually, it’s not that complicated. Don’t we have water here? We could just choose to freeze it directly?” Mo also joked.

”Impossible.” Luo Qianqian hesitated with a bitter smile: ”Water causes collapse when it encounters sand, even if I freeze it, who can guarantee it will stay frozen?”

”We could use poison. Regular poisons may not work on something as rampant in the desert, but...” Long Tu looked at Mo, the implication was clear.

Luo Qianqian suddenly realized, forgetting Mo’s specialty, and exclaimed in surprise.

”It’s useless, there’s some on the Luminous Pearl.” Mo smiled bitterly. Didn’t he know that a bit of poison could solve the problem? After all, what Luo Qianqian and He Wenyu did with the Yellow Class was the talk of those who witnessed it.

And moreover, in such a location, wouldn’t it be a shame not to learn from their actions?

But nonetheless... it’s useless.

”Well, I have an idea, but let two people stay while the rest continue ahead.”, Luo Qianqian’s eyes lit up: ”Mo, do you have any alcohol?”

”...” Mo instinctively covered the ring on his hand, then nodded after a moment.

”Alcohol is flammable, if you mind the alcohol, we could use oil instead. Should we try to smoke it out first?” Luo Qianqian grinned mischievously. If the whole underground was engulfed in flames, she didn’t believe it could survive. Perhaps it would soon turn into fragrant roast meat.

”...Feasible.” Mo immediately said, patting Luo Qianqian’s shoulder: ”Make it up to me later.” Clearly referring to the alcohol about to be wasted...

”Wait...” A voice of dissent rang out, and Long Tu stepped forward speechlessly, seeing the satisfaction on the two’s faces, he gritted his teeth: ”Are you two trying to kill us? Combustion will consume oxygen, if the creature isn’t dead and the oxygen runs out, do you think we can survive? Oxygen fuels fire!”
