Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack

Chapter 1193: Chapter 1173:

The sun had already risen slowly, seeming so close, yet it felt as though it hadn’t moved an inch, always enticing them forward at a distance that was neither too far nor too near.

All along this path, they hadn’t encountered a single soul, but this land planted with corn, though now covered by snow with only the stalks standing proudly between heaven and earth, still proved the fact that people lived here.

When Luo Qianqian and Tang Tianyi rested by a tree on the roadside, they noticed some people riding horses towards their direction in groups of three to five.

”Excuse me, do you know the direction to Forget Worries Tea House?” Seeing the two resting there, the leader reined in the horse and respectfully asked.

”Just keep going straight ahead, don’t turn, and you will see it after a while...” Luo Qianqian realized she had no concept of how far they’d traveled or how long they’d been walking, lacking the words to describe it.

”Thank you.” The leader breathed a sigh of relief. ”Would you also know if Forget Worries Tea House has the Unique Love Cake today?”

Unique Love Cake? Luo Qianqian almost spat out her tea in surprise.

Seeing the confused look on Tang Tianyi’s face, she felt embarrassed to say that it was... a strawberry cake.

She had blushed profoundly when she saw Qin Nuan name it, thinking it was quite a stretch on the term name consumption.

It was supposed to mean something like eternal devotion and sharing twilight together...

”That should only be available on the first day of each month.” Luo Qianqian paused for a moment before speaking.

Qin Nuan had turned the strawberry cake into a specialty because strawberries weren’t available here, meticulously releasing them in limited quantities, once a month.

At this, the leader’s face turned pale. Today wasn’t just not that day, but just after the start of the month, meaning they’d have to wait quite a bit.

Seeing the expression on his face, Luo Qianqian touched her nose. ”Actually, besides Unique Love, the Romantic Love flavor is similar. You could wait here; it’s on sale tomorrow.”

”Really? Thank you so much.” The leader’s face lit up a bit, and he quickly nodded, pulling out a token from his robe. ”I will never forget your kindness. If ever you need something, just look for me.”

Saying this, he dropped the token into Luo Qianqian’s hands before slowly moving forward with his group. Then the group sped up, and their horses kicked up dust as they rapidly scattered.

Luo Qianqian looked curiously at the token, which only had a flower pattern on it.

She shrugged, tossing it into her ring. ”Since when did cakes become a trendy fashion?”

Tang Tianyi chuckled. People likely didn’t know that it was initially made for Luo Qianqian, and they gradually perfected it over time. Who knew that during the trial, customers would start requesting it, and it gained a reputation.

In the beginning, it was all kinds of strange, yet highly praised.

Some were burnt, some were unevenly mixed, some had cream that was too greasy...

But as they perfected it, it became what it is today, a feature of Forget Worries Tea House.

Luo Qianqian didn’t think much of it and continued walking forward with Tang Tianyi.

As the sky darkened again, the two rested by a tree. Unexpectedly, another group of riders appeared on the road, stopping when they saw the two.

This group, however, was clearly less polite than the last.

”Hey, have you seen a group of riders pass by?” someone asked, pointing a sword from his waist at Tang Tianyi.

Tang Tianyi looked sideways at the person, who appeared proud, clearly pleased with his own status.

”No.”

Tang Tianyi’s voice was calm, and he shook his head slightly, saying, ”We just arrived here too.”

”Damn it! What are those brats up to?” the man grumbled as he left, not bothering to distance himself before urging his horse forward.

A face full of dust, Tang Tianyi instinctively waved his sleeve to shield Luo Qianqian’s head, his face looking odd.

Luo Qianqian looked equally puzzled. ”What’s going on? Bulk buying? Commercial competition?”

Tang Tianyi frowned. ”It would be best if we moved into the mountain faster; we should avoid contact until we know what’s happening.”

”I agree.” Luo Qianqian pulled out a wet wipe to clean her cheek, wiping away the dust on Tang Tianyi, and the two left without lingering further.

Fortunately, by pressing on, they got closer to the mountains and in just three days, they reached the foot of the mountain where a small town had formed.

From a distance, it was indistinguishable, but up close, the towering mountains appeared majestic and boundless, connecting with the clouds above, captivating anyone with its beauty.

The town had no walls or fields, only a few built houses yet it was bustling.

It looked somewhat like a flea market, a vast open space where one could start a business by setting up a stall.

”Hunting team needs three more people, bring your own supplies.”

”Escort team, reward of twenty.”

”Herb-gathering team, target of fifty people.”

”Buying spiritual medicine and spirit grass...”

Listening to the variety of shouts, Luo Qianqian’s eyes glimmered slightly, pulling Tang Tianyi’s sleeve. As he leaned down, she whispered, ”Doesn’t it sound like vendors in a marketplace?”

Tang Tianyi was taken aback but then smiled.

However, the two did not join any group but walked through the crowd towards the mountain path.

Their actions didn’t go unnoticed by the people below, who ridiculed them.

”Heh, they’re probably disciples out for training. Old Wang, how many groups has it been this month?”

”Stupid, they’re the first this month. Last month there were seven groups, none returned.”

”Nowadays, noble clan disciples aren’t what they used to be; they love courting death now.”

”Haha, they should be called overconfident.”

Luo Qianqian and Tang Tianyi didn’t hear this; they were already on the mountain.

...

”Rustle.”

The sound of leaves rustling was common, but this time it felt unusual.

Luo Qianqian moved behind Tang Tianyi, and they stood back-to-back, whispering, ”Could it be a beast?”

Tang Tianyi shook his head lightly, his face full of seriousness. ”I don’t know.”

It was an unknown environment, and they could only rely on each other.

Taking a deep breath, their eyes scanned around, and they paid no heed to the charred smell from the wolf meat over the campfire, not daring to relax.

”Oh dear, such a waste.” A figure flashed by, grabbing the wolf meat off the fire, and hung upside down from a tree nearby, eating the meat. Long silver hair cascaded like a waterfall.

”Who are you?” Luo Qianqian was momentarily overcome with envy at the sight of the silky hair.
