Chapter 351: Chapter 352: Yzak: That’s It? That’s All?

After Kira and Athrun broke through the enemy attack, the two of them finally left the corridor with no cover.

”Kira.”

A clear voice called out to Kira.

It was Inori.

She was wearing her usual goldfish outfit, standing innocently in front of Kira.

Yet both Kira and Athrun subconsciously trembled when they saw her.

Inori looked the same as always.

But...

Only if you ignored the corridor behind her, which was covered in corpses.

Blue Cosmos soldiers with their throats cut, heads blown apart, or necks snapped were piled throughout the corridor behind Inori.

”Inori...”

Kira walked over and took Inori’s hand.

”Things like this... from now on... leave them to me.”

If Kira could not stop the killing, then at least she should be the one to do it.

”I am Kira’s tool. This is my duty.” Inori held Kira’s hand in return. ”I will do the things Kira is unwilling to do.”

[Athrun: ???]

[Claiming ownership]

[Inori: Kira iz mine! You go ’way!]

[I suspect Athrun has actually guessed roughly what Inori is by now]

[Damn, why didn’t they give Athrun a reaction shot?]

[I heard GBN 2.0 will recreate classic scenes. We’ll be able to watch it in full panoramic view then]

Athrun did not show much expression at the moment.

Because Athrun could not quite understand the current situation.

—Could Kira actually like girls?

Could Kira have dressed like a boy in the past because of that...?

Athrun’s imagination was running wild.

”Ahem. I think we should hurry up and leave now.” Athrun did not think they could stay here long.

Things outside were not good.

”The Strike was transported onto the Doolittle. It is currently in the hangar,” Inori said.

”I’ll lead the way.”

Athrun casually grabbed two submachine guns and slung them over himself.

Inori could protect Kira. Athrun was a soldier, so he could charge ahead.

But as Athrun walked in front, he did not notice Kira’s pupils violently trembling when she heard the word ”Strike.”

Then Kira seemed to make up her mind. ”...Mm!”

[Another landmine]

[Things on this side aren’t looking very good either]

[This is bad]

[This is what I wanted to see]

[The Strike he went to so much trouble trying to kill was actually his best friend lol]

[This is it! This is exactly what I wanted to see right now!]

Unfortunately, the Stage knew exactly how to keep people in suspense.

Just as the three of them started moving, the scene cut to the larger battlefield.

Sutherland stared at the radar display.

Three crimson points of light were taking up battle formation behind the asteroid belt.

More and more red dots began appearing on the screen.

Even though he had just boasted that ”the advantage is ours,” he was under enormous pressure now.

”Moebius units, attack! Escorts, establish interlocking fire!” Sutherland roared. ”It’s only three warships! Show them the fury of Earth!”

Silent space could not carry sound.

But the exhaust flames of dozens of thrusters seemed to tear through that silence.

The Moebius formations began spreading out.

Yet Blue Cosmos’s imposing formation only made Le Creuset laugh.

”Gentlemen.” He brushed a finger along the edge of his mask. ”It is time to show the Naturals what real war looks like.”

GINNs surged out one after another, their shoulder-mounted railguns spitting brilliant flashes into the silence.

Every ZAFT soldier pulled themselves together.

The Archangel’s bridge had already been destroyed by the Blitz in a single decisive shot.

The remaining Earth Alliance forces were nothing worth worrying about!

Come on, if they could not beat the Archangel, did that mean they could not beat a measly Blue Cosmos fleet either?!

”Have the escorts flank ZAFT! We have dozens of ships. There’s no reason we should lose!”

Sutherland’s face twisted.

—Why did these ZAFT forces seem so much stronger than the ones he had encountered before?

No. They must have just gotten lucky!

They had definitely just gotten lucky!

”...G! They’re G units!” someone suddenly shouted. ”Buster and Duel! It’s Buster and Duel!”

”Nani?!”

If one GINN could take down five Moebius units, then there was truly nothing to be done once the G-series appeared.

The Earth Alliance had originally had dozens of Moebius units, far more than five times the number of GINNs, so Sutherland really had been able to overwhelm the other side.

But with the Duel and Buster Gundams appearing, the situation changed.

”Stay calm! It’s only two more MS units. We still have the advantage!”

Sutherland also knew the specifications of Duel and Buster. They were very strong, but... they still could not dominate an entire battlefield!

”Where’s the Strike? Find the Strike’s pilot and bring her here! Right, the Archangel! Find that Clyne!!!”

Even though Sutherland himself had cast off the Archangel, at this moment he was still hoping the Archangel could help.

The Earth Alliance fleet’s formation began to collapse. The Buster Gundam’s bombardment reaped lives like the scythe of the Grim Reaper.

Dearka had no interest in wasting time on bugs like Moebius units. His targets were the escorts.

The ZAFT-modified 94mm high-energy rifle and 350mm railgun roared in alternation, and every flash turned a Drake-class escort ship into a ball of fire.

Whistling, Dearka adjusted his sights and watched his shots pierce the metallic torrent of escort ships, blooming into gorgeous flowers of death in the vacuum.

This felt amazing!

Facing the Strike had almost made Dearka doubt his own shooting skills.

But the facts proved his skills were still pretty damn good!

”Stop treating this like target practice!” Yzak’s irritated voice came through the communicator.

”Go isolate the Doolittle and get Athrun out!”

”Yeah, yeah, yeah.” Dearka was not actually heartless. He just did not think Athrun would die that easily.

Athrun had even survived drifting through space. There was no way he would die here.

What ZAFT red-coat would ever be killed by a stray shot?

—Right, Rusty?

Duel charged into the enemy formation while swinging its beam saber.

Its anti-beam shield smashed apart three Moebius units.

This was not a proper way to fight, but slapping people with a shield felt really good.

After bursting the cockpits of several Moebius units with his assault rifle, twisted exhilaration burned in Yzak’s blue eyes.

”These Naturals can’t even make their screams reach me. How boring!”

All the resentment he had built up from being unable to defeat the Strike was pouring out now.

Duel and Buster continued closing in on the Doolittle.

”Long Legs! Long Legs is moving!”

But a sudden voice over the communicator snapped Yzak back to reality.

Yzak, who had only just started getting carried away, was instantly brought back down to earth.

At this distance, Yzak could already see the Archangel with the naked eye.

The Archangel had adjusted its orientation and now had its back to the battlefield.

—Hah, that’s it?

Scared the hell out of me!

It was nothing but a false alarm.

The target was still the Doolittle!
