Transmigrated as a Peasant Baby Who is Pampered by All

Chapter 602: Chapter 374: Doesn’t Want to Marry Someone She Doesn’t Know

After being interrupted by what just happened, Xiaoxue was completely at a loss about how to feel embarrassed.

Seeing everyone looking at her, she could only innocently look back,

What’s going on? She’s still young, getting married and all that, it’s still early.

Finally, it was Second Aunt who admitted defeat first: ”Xiaoxue, what do you think of Liu Ze, if it’s for marriage.”

Xiaoxue nodded frankly: ”He’s pretty good, we’ve known each other for so many years, and have always lived together, plus Uncle Liu and Aunt Qian are nice people. If I marry him, I definitely won’t get bullied.”

This...

Everyone exchanged looks; this reaction was completely different from what they expected.

Where’s the shyness? The blushing? The awkwardness not knowing what to say?

Why is she so calm and even thought about not getting bullied in the future?

Xiaomi couldn’t help but ask, ”But Second Sister, when Sister Yajing asked you before, you didn’t say that.”

The others immediately became interested.

Jiang Wei was curious: ”What did Second Sister say at that time?”

Xiaomi spoke assertively: ”Second Sister said she has no ideas!”

Xiaoxue corrected: ”Sister Yajing asked if I had any thoughts on my future husband, of course I said I didn’t have any ideas.”

She’s not even old enough to get married, why should she think about a future husband?

”Xiaoxue isn’t wrong.” Second Aunt nodded, ”Xiaoxue is still half a year from turning twelve, even in the village, it would still be a couple of years before someone proposes.”

Xiaoxue nodded repeatedly, exactly, she hasn’t even thought about marriage, how could she consider who to marry.

Jiang Yu chuckled, and Wei Ziang couldn’t help but laugh too.

”Brother Ze has been constantly worried, afraid that someone might beat him to it, so even when he was still in Nanyang Prefecture, he hurriedly wrote a letter back, asking Uncle Liu and them to prepare. Who would have thought Second Sister hadn’t considered this at all.”

Who knows what expression Brother Ze will have when he finds out.

Xiaomi was curious: ”Did you know Brother Ze asked people to prepare for this?”

Wei Ziang nodded: ”Wasn’t it you, Xiaomi, who said, what if someone proposes to Second Sister when we go back this time, and Aunt and Uncle don’t know Brother Ze’s intentions, and arrange an engagement for her with someone else?”

Xiaomi nodded, that indeed happened.

”Then I saw Brother Ze writing a letter in a hurry, and even asked the post station to rush it back, that’s when I guessed it was about this.”

Second Aunt pondered for a moment: ”Speaking of which, when I went with your father to deliver things in the morning, someone indeed inquired about whether Xiaoxue is engaged.”

Xiaoxue immediately pouted: ”Mom, I don’t want to marry someone I don’t know.”

”Oh~” Xiaomi deliberately drew out her voice: ”So Second Sister, you want to marry Brother Ze, right? Among the men you know, apart from the elders, there’s only Brother Ze.”

Xiaoxue was stunned, her face finally red, and she glared at Xiaomi: ”Mouthy, I’m not talking to you anymore, it’s getting late, I’m going to cook.”

With that, she really got up and went to the kitchen, leaving the others to look at each other.

Second Aunt only just realized: ”So Xiaoxue also has feelings for Xiao Ze, well, the two families being related is not bad.”

Jiang Yu: ”Mom, you’d better wait for Dad to come back and talk to him, don’t wait till someone comes to propose and Dad knows nothing.”

Anyway, when they came back from the Liu family that day, he subtly asked, and listening to Dad’s response, he had no idea in this regard, it seems Uncle Liu was too subtle, Dad didn’t get it.

Second Aunt: ”Your mom is just a bit slow to react, not stupid.”

Jiang Yu touched his nose, signaling to help with cooking, and also left.

A moment later, the gathered people dispersed, each going about their own business.

At night, lying in bed, Second Aunt told Jiang Hu about Liu Ze and Xiaoxue.

Jiang Hu was shocked: ”What did you say? Ze’er likes Xiaoxue?”

Second Aunt was puzzled: ”Didn’t you know, Brother Hu? Wasn’t it said that Ze’er’s dad had mentioned it to you?”

That day, when they went to the County Magistrate’s mansion, Liu Ze’s mother took her aside to discuss Liu Ze and Xiaoxue, and said that Liu Ze’s dad would also talk to Brother Hu.

Could it be not?

Jiang Hu’s expression changed multiple times before he suddenly recalled: ”No wonder Liu Brother kept asking me if I agreed or was satisfied.”

”Huh? Agreed and satisfied about what? Was it about Ze’er and Xiaoxue’s marriage?”

It couldn’t be, if that were the question, there’s no way Brother Hu wouldn’t know.

Jiang Hu sure enough shook his head: ”No, it was about Ze’er’s future plans.”

Then he explained the plan of Liu Ze preparing to set up a small academy in Xiangmu Village in detail.

Second Aunt nodded understandingly after hearing: ”That’s good, his health has never been great, though he seems fine now, he really can’t go too far.”

”If the two of them become a couple in the future, Xiaoxue will stay with us, we’ll know if something happens, I think it’s great.”

A son is fine, even after marrying he’s still at home, but a daughter getting married means she really becomes part of another family, and may not come back home several times a year.

If the husband’s family is kind and treats the daughter well, then it’s fine, but if they are unkind and bully or suppress the daughter-in-law,

in reality, the latter is more common.

She can ensure not to bully her future daughter-in-law, but can’t guarantee others won’t bully her daughter.

So after thinking it over, she still feels Liu Ze is the best choice.

Besides the in-laws being virtuous, selfishly speaking, Liu Ze will practically live with them in the future, so there’s no worry about her daughter getting bullied.

Even in an empty room, Second Aunt still whispered her thoughts to Jiang Hu.

Jiang Hu hugged Second Aunt into his arms: ”Don’t worry so much, Ze’er cares so much about Xiaoxue, he’ll surely be good to her.”

”Besides, listening to what you said about Xiaoxue’s reaction this afternoon, it seems she has a liking for Ze’er, just that she’s too young to understand.”

Speaking of which, Second Aunt couldn’t help but laugh: ”True, I just mentioned someone inquiring this morning, she immediately said she won’t marry someone she doesn’t know.”

Xiaoxue, this girl, stays at home all the time, except for going to the fields or the embroidery workshop, she barely goes anywhere else.

Just like Xiaomi said, among the boys her age, other than her brothers, she only knows Ze’er.

This clearly shows that if she were to marry, it would only be with Ze’er.

The more she thinks about it, the more it makes sense.

Jiang Hu patted his wife’s back: ”Alright, it’s late, time to sleep. If the kids have their own plans, that’s great, we don’t have to worry.”

Jiang Hu had a broad view, after all, there’s no rush. Even if they are engaged, the marriage is still years away, and after marriage, the daughter won’t be far from home.

So, there’s simply no reason to refuse!
