The Conquerors Path

Chapter 1031: Chapter 1029

“Watching all this always makes me happy. It’s quite a difference from the past when the waters were shunned and hunted.”

Krave said, to which I just took it in. Sometimes they don’t want a response, just someone to listen to.

“I wouldn’t mind hearing about the past stories of your life, it sounds fun.”

“I will hold you to those words.”

Krave said, smiling at me as we moved undetected through this huge city, just one among the vast territories that would fall under Marlene once she is empress. A vast, unending territory, among all the princesses, she would be the one to hold a lot of power beyond imagination to command under her, especially in the oceans and seas.

Musing on those thoughts, we shifted through space again for me to appear near a certain building. My eyes landed on a certain woman who is walking, which here translates to swimming, away from a certain building that looks like a spiral. Putting it into perspective, it will look more like those big glass buildings of big companies, though specialised for the sea this time.

The woman in question looked to be in her 30s. At first glance, she looked almost entirely human, a mature beauty in her early thirties with a voluptuous, fertile figure that radiated experienced sensuality. Rich warm bronze skin.

Delicate fin-like membranes extended from the sides of her neck and lower back, thin, translucent and edged with soft, glowing edges. Small, elegant spots dotted her collarbone, wrists, and the outer curves of her thighs, living floral patterns, it seems. Her eyes were a striking warm amber with vertical slit pupils. When she smiled, small pearly fangs peeked from behind full lips. On her head, I could see cute little ears that looked fluffy and quite cat-like.

“Oh? A bloomkin with a mutated body and bloodline? Plus her own sense of self feels quite different, like a fragmented soul… very interesting.”

Krave muttered, to which I nodded my head at her. A bloomkin, a hidden tribe of the ocean. They lean more on a minding-my-own-business-so-please-do-not-disturb-me lifestyle. Their special powers lean towards handling special water-type plants, which are extremely dangerous and carnivorous.

I watched as she walked out of the place. She had quite a happy smile on her face, like she had won something great as she moved into the road, surfing about.

“Hehehe… with all this money I can rest quite well for some time without any issues… ahhh…. it feels so good to be kicked out of my family… now I can just relax and enjoy my second chance, until everything goes to shit… my hedonist life here I come!”

‘She seems quite different from the other two.’

I thought as I looked at this mature-like woman jolting away and muttering so low under her voice that no one but us 3 could have heard it. Unlike the other two, this one doesn’t seem to be striving for power or any kind of upgrade. Heck, I wouldn’t even feel any special desire for revenge or growth from her.

In fact, right now she had just come from one of the more famous gambling dens in here after earning quite a substantial amount of money. My mind was running as I brought up more information about her from my mind.

Her name is Elowen Vossara.

Her tribe of Bloomkin are quite special. They just like that other tribe come from a matriarchal family style, with the females even having 2 or even 3 husbands if they are powerful and can take it. Especially the leader tribe. And as you can guess, this woman is the daughter of the current tribe leader of the Bloomkin.

My people had done their own research, and from what they could find, she was quite the contender for the position of next tribe leader, filled with great talent and a lot of determination. You know those power-filled types. Until suddenly she changed. In fact started doing a lot of bizarre things, stupid things, until she was kicked out of her own tribe.

It looked as if her own personality had taken a 180-degree full shift, going from a woman fully interested in just power to drinking alcohol, enjoying bets, and just lazing away. Like someone who just gave up on life. She just seemed more focused on enjoying parts of her life, and that mutter itself seemed to show that she just wants to enjoy her life while waiting for whatever future she knows is coming.

“What is she?”

“She is a regressor. Someone whose soul came to occupy her body in the past.”

I said to Krave’s words, which made her interested, her eyes shining.

“Ohh… I didn’t know beings like that could exist.”

Krave muttered with all 6 of her eyes shining as she focused on Elowen.

“Beings like that are only born when great chaos happens in the future. Like massive deaths or destruction of the world.”

When I muttered this, the smile on Krave’s face slowly vanished. As one who tried her best to protect these waters, the mention of that made her expression and her whole body language change. She just went from a mature, smiling maternal mother to a demon of hell that loves torture. That was the deep killing intent and change I felt from her.

My hand moved as I slowly patted Krave’s shoulder.

“Don’t worry about it. She can only come from one such possible future. It doesn’t mean it could happen, and I have no intention of such a future happening.”

At my words, Krave looked at me, all her 6 blinking eyes peering deep into me. After which, she still maintained that killer mode had a small smile.

“I can see a little bit of why Luna chose you.”

Saying so, her face focused on Elowen, and let me tell you, it wasn’t a happy face.

“She has been given such heavy gifts, and she uses her time and life like this? She doesn’t even try to protect these vast waters that gave her such life?”

I could see that with those words, any affection Krave could feel for this woman had gone down the drain. Pretty sure that if I kidnapped her and started torturing her, Krave would perhaps either join in or provide pointers on how to make it all even more painful.

‘Can’t blame her though.’

And I also have no intention of blaming Elowen either. I mean, how could I? I know what kind of life she could have lived in the future. Not many can handle the heavy burden of what they know and feel and still keep fighting for a world that is not theirs. The connections, friends and family she might have known are already gone and dead.

Why would she fight for a world that is not hers?

Both sides have their thoughts, and as always, I will be playing both sides, which will gain me the most benefits.

“What do you plan to do with her?”

Krave asked, to which I replied with a smile.

“I plan on using her for my goals. Her knowledge and power would be useful, and beings like this have blessings to perhaps even touch the level of dragon power, or if lucky, even the divine. I was hoping to use her, and if useful, make her mine.”

Krave nodded at my words, understanding them.

“Her abilities are unique, but the way it’s used, it’s a bit difficult for her to grow alone.”

“Yeah.”

I nodded at her words. Beings like us, at one glance, can see the inner depth of beings. Thus, I can also see the talents and powers she has. And for her, her power is something similar yet different from that of the guy who is connecting with his beasts.

Her power is a connection indeed, but it seems she can connect to beings and share powers between them. A unique mutation of her own lineage, which connects to plants and grows with them, but her extension seems to indicate that she can even extend it towards living, breathing beings, too.

‘Why is she starting to feel more like a reverse harem character?’

I mused on it, especially when I looked at her profile.

[Analysing Target…]

[Target Locked: Elowen Vossara]

[

Name: Elowen Vossara

Sex: Female

Age: 36

Species: Bloomkin (Abyssal Variant – Mutated Bloodline)

Talent: 10/10

Power: Origin Level 7 (Suppressed / Hidden Potential: Divine Threshold)

Title: The Abyssal Bloom Matriarch, The Fallen Heir, The Hedonist Regressor, The One Who Gave Up, The Bloom That Refuses To Wither, The Second Chance Drunkard, The Anomaly Who Chose Sloth…

Love: 0% (Complete Rejection – She harbours deep hatred toward men, romantic love, and physical intimacy. Any attempt at seduction will be met with extreme hostility or cold indifference.)

Description:

The former prodigy and next-in-line Matriarch of the Bloomkin tribe, a hidden oceanic lineage that cultivates dangerous symbiotic gardens on the abyssal plains. Once a driven, power-hungry woman destined for greatness, she underwent a complete regression after a catastrophic future where everything she loved was destroyed. Now occupying her younger self’s body, she has deliberately thrown away her previous path of ambition.

She hates men with a burning passion, viewing them as the root cause of the destruction she witnessed. She despises love as a foolish weakness that leads only to pain and betrayal. Physical intimacy and sex disgust her completely; she sees them as meaningless transactions that offer nothing but temporary distraction at best.

Instead, she has embraced a hedonistic, self-indulgent lifestyle: heavy drinking of fermented deep-sea nectars, reckless gambling in the underwater dens, lazing around, and enjoying whatever fleeting pleasures the present offers. She is fully aware of the coming disasters but has chosen to “enjoy the ride until everything goes to shit,” living as a carefree, sarcastic woman who wants nothing more than to be left alone with her vices.

Special Note:

> She is a Regressor who has given up on heroism. Her soul carries the scars of a destroyed future where she lost everything. This makes her extremely dangerous, not because she seeks power, but because she no longer cares about the consequences of her actions.

> Her mutated Bloomkin bloodline allows her to form powerful symbiotic connections with both plants and living beings, sharing strength, senses, and even emotions. This ability is currently heavily suppressed due to her self-destructive lifestyle.

> Despite her hatred of men, she finds genuine amusement and curiosity in rare individuals who don’t try to “fix” or possess her.

Difficulty: SSS+ (She is not interested in power, alliances, or romance. Her regression has left her mentally broken and emotionally detached. Approaching her requires extreme caution; she may become a powerful ally or a chaotic wildcard who drags everything down with her if provoked. Danger lurks in her indifference.)
