Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest

It was finally time to keep moving forward, we had faced a bit too many powerful enemies, and we even ended up defeating one of the big bosses of the Black Hand all within the journey to get here.

Honestly, it was more than I could have ever imagined. But now that it was finally over and we could resume our journey, I felt slightly happier, if anything.

We had a delicious lunch as well, so I felt refreshed and full of energy. The things that happened back then… I’ll leave them there and not let them affect me too much.

Or well, I’ll hope that they don’t affect me too much. But even then, I still can’t get out of my head the little souls of those children.

It left me slightly frustrated about how I couldn’t do anything for them, they were already dead after all… And also, it made me worry… I didn’t want the same thing to happen to my baby.

That sorrow, mixed with fear and frustration, and perhaps even regret, made me suddenly swear to myself I would destroy the Black Hand entirely.

…

Yes, I might’ve gotten too emotional back then, but I’m glad I didn’t say any of those things out loud though…

Nakuna was a formidable foe, and a monster that deserved to die too, his battle was hard, but when comparing it to Merlinus, it was nothing.

He seemed to specialize in the manipulation of Nightmare Energy, and seemed to be a master of it, someone very strong that lived for a long time.

I really doubt the Black Hand has the resources or people to do the same thing he did, especially when he was one of the “Five Fingers” of the Black Hand, an indispensable member of their society.

Once they learn that he died, they will probably take the entire thing much more personal… So, ugh, I can expect them to keep pestering me.

However, it’s not like we’re weak ourselves, we’re pretty damn strong. With Nakuna’s death, the other four will follow suit if they keep pestering me.

I won’t forgive them…

Even if I once was a woman worried about just the most mundane things a year ago… Things have changed a lot since then.

I often times think something… Do I regret beginning to play BNLO?

If I didn’t, I would never have been dragged into any of this, and maybe I wouldn’t had dragged everyone else either.

We could have lived more peaceful lives, and maybe someone else would’ve played hero.

Or maybe none… and the Forest of Beginnings would have ended being destroyed by the Demon King of Miasma, and then he would have invaded Earth…

Wait…

Huh.

If I hadn’t started playing, things could have gone terribly wrong!

Perhaps someone else could have taken my role, but I am not so sure it would have been so easy for things to easily be the same without me or my friends.

I wonder if I was somehow destined to do this? To join them? Is Fate even real?

…

Haah…

Oh well, there’s no point in overthinking too much, it’ll only make me paranoid.

But…

No, I don’t regret that I started playing. I’ve saved and changed a lot of lives, and those lives have ended up changing and saving even more.

Even when we’ve lost some precious people, perhaps others would have suffered a similar fate, or maybe even more, if I wasn’t strong enough in that time to do something.

It’s a complicated thing to think about, so many variables! You’re never really sure what would happen or not.

“Haah…”

As I sighed, I checked my newly evolved phone.

Yep, it gained new appearance, and it even does a lot more…

It even has a battery where I’m slowly storing Mana and Spirit Energy, refining it into Divine Power to use in emergencies!

Pretty handy, right?

It’s also soul bound, and somehow has circuits merged with me, these are “Magic Circuits” that will make me stronger the more energy the phone absorbs over time.

Stronger in which ways? Well, it’ll add more Runes to my Physique and Magic Circle I think? I am not entirely sure.

Let me check again…

[Soul-Bonding Spiritual Magic Circuits (A)]: This artifact has created a Soul-Bound connection with the wielder, a permanent one that will only be shattered when either of the two is destroyed. These circuits allow for the connection with the artifact through mental inputs, words, and even mere “feelings”. The smartphone will do its best to help their master with anything they require. Additionally, these circuits will strengthen the more the smartphone absorbs the master’s energy, providing them with extra Magic Power and Virtual Runes, strengthening all Virtual Abilities within the Artifact only. External Virtual Magic is impossible to conjure or engrave due to the master’s null affinity with it.

Ah yes, there it is. I gain more Magic Power and “Virtual Runes”, whatever they are. But they only make the phone’s abilities stronger, so they’re useless with me.

Nonetheless, another method to gain more Magic Power is always welcome!

And yeah, this phone now allows me to see the abilities of things, information, anything.

It’s pretty much an upgraded version of the Wooden Tablet from my Domain… And well, it makes sense when it is literally connected to it as well.

It has many other useful abilities, and right now, I’m contacting Olivia and sending her some messages about what we faced.

Olivia, as expected, reacted pretty surprised.

[Olivia Coyett]: [What? Wait, how are you even sending messages using the phone???]

[Elayne]: [I got the latest model, they’re really amazing…!]

[Olivia Coyett]: [Elayne! Do you seriously believe you can feel me so easily? You have some sort of magical phone? That’s incredible!]

[Elayne]: [Okay but did you read what I wrote before?]

[Olivia Coyett]: [Yes, I’ve already reported it to the HQ. It’s honestly worrying they were able to intercept you! But I am relieved you could defeat them… you’re incredible!]

[Elayne]: [Okay… we’re on our way to a dream spirit tree, so I’ll send messages later.]
