Regression - Second Chance At Life

Chapter 210 210: Exchanged Number

As Adam cleans up the table left behind by the band, he sees them standing outside the restaurant, waiting for him.

Adam doesnʼt rush. He takes his time, finishing the little things that need his attention.

After a few minutes, he finally decides to give Isla the time she asked for.

Adam steps out under the curious gaze of Leila and Cassie, as they have become aware of the little meeting that is about to take place between Adam and Isla, the lead vocalist of the band Velvet Arcadia.

Suzaan, who has been standing next to Isla all this time, is preparing Isla for the talk she is about to have with Adam, and finally steps away from Isla as she sees Adam step out of the restaurant.

”All the best,” She whispers softly to Isla as she leaves to join Kylo and Jean, who are watching from afar.

Adam steps out of the restaurant and looks around. He sees Suzaan leave Isla alone, and he also turns to look at Kylo and Jean. Kylo looks pretty chill about it, but Jean still has that displeased look on his face, not that Adam gives a shit about it.

Instead, he sets his sights on Isla and approaches her as she stands there, hands up front, meeting right before her shorts as she nervously fiddles with her fingers.

Adam can see how nervous Isla is about this talk. He wonders if she will be able to speak her mind or if she will continue to be a bumbling mess.

Adam smiles and steps closer. His eyes scan her from head to toe.

Isla has beautiful hair, long, straight, shiny, and thick, clearly blessed with great hair genetics, but itʼs not just her hair. She has a great face card. Without any makeup on, she is a definite eight, and with makeup, hairstyle, and a dress that suits her, she can hit the high nines.

To some men, she might even be a ten.

But with all the beautiful and hot women in Adamʼs life, his appearance scale is very strict.

But Adam has to admit, Isla is a blessed girl. Not many women out there have it all. Great hair, beautiful face, a sexy, curvy body, and nice, thick, sexy legs.

And even though she isnʼt dressed to impress, that simple black t-shirt and blue jean shorts do an amazing job showing off her sexy figure.

Adam can only imagine what she must look like without all these clothes on.

Isla starts feeling nervous as she realizes that Adamʼs checking her out. Luckily, she is infatuated by Adam, because if it were anyone else, someone whoʼs not handsome, she would find this behavior creepy.

”So, what do you want to talk about?” Adam asks, looking into her eyes as he continues to hold onto that signature smile of his.

Isla feels her heart racing now that she finds herself alone with Adam and talking to him.

It should be the other way around. Itʼs she who is famous in this situation, not Adam, so why is she the one feeling so nervous about talking, while Adam doesnʼt seem bothered at all, as if he doesnʼt even know her?

But thatʼs not true because she clearly saw Adam at the concert last night, and she can never mistake anyone else for Adam because of how unique he is.

”Umm,” she tries to speak, but doesnʼt know how to start.

ʼCome on, Isla, you went through this with Su... Itʼs not that hard, just introduce yourself and ask for his number,ʼ Isla thinks while her fidgeting intensifies. Her legs shift weight from one to the other while her fingers twirl around each other with nervous energy.

She begins looking around, avoiding Adamʼs gaze, trying to find something to say. She even turns her head to look at her friends, especially Suzaan, in search of some courage.

Suzaan and friends, who are standing far away from Isla, see her bombing it in front of Adam and cringe.

”Come on! Donʼt look at us! Talk to him,” Suzaan mutters to herself, seeing Isla look at them.

”You girls really donʼt know how to approach someone, do you?” Kylo says, grinning, finding amusement in Islaʼs bad performance.

”Shut up~ She is just nervous. She will recover any moment,” Suzaan says, believing in her friend.

This is the same woman who is always bursting with energy and charisma on a stage before thousands of people. Standing before a single person and telling him how she is feeling shouldnʼt be this hard.

”Hehehe, you pretty girls are all the same. All your life, itʼs always been the guys who have approached you. But when itʼs time for you to approach, you bomb like a suicide bomber, hehehe,” Kylo says, making fun of Isla, which annoys Suzaan.

So she punches Kyloʼs shoulder to shut him up.

Jean has not spoken a word because he feels betrayed. Isla made it very clear to him that she isnʼt interested in dating anyone, so seeing her act coy in front of another man, wanting his attention, makes him feel sick in the stomach with jealousy.

Back to Adam. He sees that Isla clearly is having a hard time speaking her mind, so he decides to help her.

”Are you okay? Do you want to go somewhere else, far from the noise?” Adam suggests.

Hearing Adam, Isla brings her attention back to Adam and feels moved. Even though he really didnʼt do much, seeing Adam show even this little bit of concern for her has made her feel elated.

”Umm, yes, can we do that?” She finally speaks, and that to as a question.

Adam nods and smiles. ”Sure, if you are okay with it, this way,” Adam says and leads her to the back of the restaurant, where there are no prying eyes.

Isla follows Adam to the back while her heart races even faster as she realizes she is about to be all alone with Adam, far away from her friendʼs eyesight, where they canʼt see whatʼs happening, and she wonʼt be able to see them either.

Isla feels both nervousness and excitement.

Now, at the back of the restaurant, Adam and Isla stand before each other. He is looking right down at her while Isla has her head lowered with flushed cheeks.

”Go ahead, now that there are no distractions. You can speak your mind,” Adam says with a gentle tone.

Isla can hear her own heartbeat beat which cuts the little amount of background noise that was still present.

”Umm, I wanted to ask... if.... you.... were.... at the concert last night!” Isla blurts it out. These are not the words she wanted to speak, but itʼs still something.

Something to help her ease into the conversation.

”I was, you guys were good,” Adam says, again with his gentle but strong voice.

”Thank you... I... I saw you in the crowd last night. I didnʼt expect to see you here as well. What a coincidence.” Isla says.

”Indeed, sometimes the world is a very small place,” Adam says, to which Isla just nods her head.

”Um, how long have you been a fan?” Isla asks.

Now that they have started speaking, Isla finds herself getting in the flow, so she is no longer being a bumbling mess, but she is still very far away from what she really wants to ask Adam.

She is just dragging this out to build up all the courage she needs.

”I am sorry, but I am not a fan. I was only there to accompany a friend,” Adam answers honestly.

Adam doesnʼt lie very often, as every lie creates an unwanted situation that can accumulate and create an uncontrolled situation for him to deal with. Adam will only lie when he has to lie.

Right now, he doesnʼt need to. There is no point in pretending to be a fan, which could then lead to her asking questions that Adam has no answers to.

”Oh....” Isla lets out a defeated sound.

She had hoped that Adam would be a fan because it would have made it so much easier for her, but it turns out he is not. He was just there for a friend.

”You sound disappointed~” Adam says. He puts a little teasing tone behind his words to make Isla ease in a little more.

”No! Thatʼs not it!” Isla immediately denies it, lying through her teeth, which Adam finds amusing.

”Itʼs okay, no need to lie. Itʼs written all over your face,” Adam says, smiling teasingly.

Seeing his bright smile makes Isla blush harder. ”Oh, am I that obvious?” she asks shyly.

”Yes, you are. And you wanted to talk to me to ask for my number, right?” Adam decides to make it even easier.

He likes what he sees, so there is no point in him making it harder for both him and her.

”No!” She says, feeling embarrassed after getting read through so easily.

”So you donʼt want my number?” Amon asks.

”No! I mean, yes! I mean no! Ugh, yes, I want your number,” Isla finally says it out loud with all the clarity she needs to put her word across.

”You look very cute right now,” Adam says.

His words immediately shut off Islaʼs brain for a second before her entire face turns red.

”Thank you....” she says. Her tone is so soft that it sounds like a mosquito, earning another chuckle from Adam.

”Give me your phone,” Adam says. Isla immediately shoots her phone at him, something she has been holding in her hand all this time.

Adam puts his number in her phone and gives himself a call before handing it back to Isla.

Isla looks at Adamʼs phone number and also his name, which he saved under.

”Adam...” she whispers, reading the name above the number.

”Thatʼs my name,” Adam says with a charming smile.
