Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 463: Heiress of Heaven (2)

‘…What is this?’ Kyrian asked himself, surprised by his own reaction. It was a strange feeling to him, something that did not fit into his usual categories of thought.

It was not merely her beauty, although that was undeniable. It was something deeper, more fundamental. For the first time, someone had managed to make his heart react without his permission, without his choice.

The curiosity that followed was just as intense. At first, he had been curious because she belonged to the Sky Family, because of her role within the Caravan, because of her power.

But now, after seeing her true appearance, it was no longer simply because she was the Heir of Heaven, the person who would help command the Caravan and control Azhura’k. It was because she was the first existence capable of awakening this unknown feeling within him.

Kyrian narrowed his eyes, analyzing. The illusion surrounding her was extraordinarily well-crafted, nearly flawless, a layer of energy so subtle that the vast majority of cultivators would never even notice its existence.

To everyone else, she was already one of the most beautiful women in the world. But to him, the difference was like comparing the moon reflected upon the water to the true moon in the sky.

The illusion seemed to diminish her appearance in the eyes of others.

Meanwhile, Gao Ziyue floated toward a platform formed from spiritual energy at the center of the plaza, several meters above the ground. She raised her delicate hand, and silence returned almost instantly, as though the air itself had been drawn out of the plaza.

Her voice was clear, as gentle as a spring breeze, yet carried a natural authority that reached every corner of the plaza, penetrating the ears and minds of every listener.

“Children of the Sky Caravan and honored guests… Today marks the beginning of another Celestial Descent. Our ancestral guardian beast has chosen to rest after yet another long journey.”

“We now stand near the Mountains of the End, where the continent reaches its northern limit. May this pause be one of renewal, not only for our city, but for each and every one of you.”

She paused, her gaze sweeping across the crowd with a calmness that seemed to touch every individual personally. A faint smile appeared on her lips, a smile that caused sighs to ripple through the plaza once more.

“During the next two weeks, the four great auction halls will open their doors as never before. Treasures gathered from all Five Regions, lost techniques, legendary pills, and opportunities capable of changing a cultivator’s destiny will all be available. Combat tournaments, alchemy competitions, formation challenges, and hunts within the forbidden lands below await those with both courage and talent.”

Her voice became slightly more solemn and deeper.

“This Descent is not merely a tradition. It is a reminder that the heavens are not a limit but the beginning of something greater. May each of you find what you seek, whether it be power, knowledge, or a new path. The Sky Family watches over and protects you. May the Qi of Heaven and the firmament guide you.”

Her final words echoed with a faint spiritual pressure, not oppressive like the elder’s, but inspiring, like a gentle push upon the back of one who wished to grow.

Kyrian and everyone else could sense that her cultivation had reached the peak of the Spiritual Awakening Realm.

The crowd erupted once again. Shouts of “Heir of Heaven!” and “Gao Ziyue!” mixed with frenzied applause.

Some young cultivators loudly swore that they would participate in the tournaments to catch her attention. Others simply admired her in silence, engraving her image into their memories as though it were a priceless treasure.

Kyrian, however, did not applaud. He merely watched.

His heart had already returned to its normal rhythm. That unfamiliar heartbeat had settled, yet his curiosity continued to burn like a flame that refused to die.

He analyzed every movement she made, every subtle fluctuation of Qi that escaped her, the way her energy flowed, how her meridians moved, and how the illusion remained perfectly stable.

That illusion truly was remarkable. Maintaining an altered appearance in public for so long required absurd control, a mastery over Qi possessed by very few cultivators. Kyrian wondered whether it was a technique or some kind of special physique.

For a brief instant, when Gao Ziyue’s gaze swept across the crowd, Kyrian felt as though those deep eyes had paused in his direction for a fraction of a second. But they had not. She had no idea that someone there could see her true appearance, that someone had pierced through her veil of illusion.

She offered the crowd an elegant bow before beginning to ascend once again, floating back toward the tower with the same grace with which she had descended.

Her ethereal figure slowly vanished into the light, leaving behind only a lingering sense of reverence and longing in the air, as though something precious had been revealed for a fleeting moment before being taken away once more.

Kyrian slowly let out a breath, uncrossing his arms. The plaza was beginning to stir once again as people discussed which events they would attend first, their voices blending into an animated cacophony.

He, however, remained motionless for several more seconds, mentally replaying everything he had just experienced.

‘Interesting, to say the least…’ he murmured softly, a faint, almost imperceptible smile appearing at the corner of his lips.

He turned and began walking through the crowd, following the flow of people as it dispersed like a river dividing into countless tributaries. Within him, alongside his usual ambition for power, a new curiosity, small yet persistent, had taken root.

For the first time, someone had managed to awaken something within Kyrian beyond an interest in strength.

And that someone was the Heir of Heaven.

The Celestial Descent Festival had barely begun, yet the sky above the Caravan seemed more alive than ever, pulsing with promises and possibilities.

Then, suddenly, an all-encompassing sound reached everyone’s ears, an echo that seemed to rise from within the very earth itself, from the depths of the Caravan, from the heart of the beast that carried it.
