Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation

Chapter 89: Two Sword Intents

The swords had already exchanged dozens of blows, but now the arena was submerged in a heavy atmosphere.

Mo Tianhai did not stop. His attacks came like waves of a furious tide. Each strike carried raw destruction.

Kyrian no longer advanced. His feet retreated centimeter by centimeter. His sword was raised only to parry, deflect, and dissolve the wave of Tianhai’s brutality.

The blades clashed, spitting even more sparks and embers that lit up their faces.

”Tianhai is forcing Kyrian to retreat. Things have turned around!” someone exclaimed from the stands, unable to contain the surprise.

”It’s Tianhai’s intent... even incomplete, it’s enough to change the course of the fight!”

Kyrian, however, did not seem shaken. His green eyes were even more focused, calculating even the force of each movement. He let his feet slide across the arena floor until the moment he decided to stop. He had seen enough.

Suddenly, the pressure in his eyes intensified.

The swords trembled. The metallic echo reverberated through the entire space like a contained thunder.

The nearby disciples flinched. Before, it had been only a faint tremor, but now, their blades vibrated as if they wanted to escape their scabbards.

Mo Tianhai, who was the target, felt the pressure directly on his seed of intent. It was suffocating. The invisible force that came from Kyrian’s eyes crushed his newborn comprehension.

The next strike nearly made his sword slip from his hands. A cut opened on his shoulder, another on his thigh. Blood trickled down, staining his green robe.

But it didn’t matter, Tianhai did not retreat.

He roared like a beast, charging forward again. With every step, his muscles trembled, his body torn apart by Kyrian’s quick strikes. Yet his sword continued to descend with fury and an intent to destroy.

It was then that, while surrender did not exist for Tianhai, something changed in his gaze.

The eyes, once burning with rage, suddenly began to empty as the fight went on.

The red flush of fury vanished, replaced by an almost dead focus. It was as if Tianhai’s mind had been shut off after so many strikes.

Leaving behind only the instinct of the sword.

”He... he’s no longer fighting consciously!” one of the hidden elders murmured, surprise lighting up his face.

Kyrian noticed the change at the same instant. His eyes narrowed as he realized it.

’Tsk... he’s entered some strange state.’

”This...” After a few more blows, Kyrian understood.

Yes, that was it. Mo Tianhai was at the limit of fury, completely abandoning defense, his mind elsewhere. His sword existed only to destroy what was before him.

His seed of intent was colliding against Kyrian’s true intent. And in the friction, it was being honed.

Each strike he received, each wound that tore him apart, did not weaken him. On the contrary, it refined his comprehension. With each passing second, Tianhai’s sword grew denser, more destructive.

Kyrian breathed deeply in silence. He had nothing against Tianhai. On the contrary, after seeing this, he considered Tianhai a terrifying talent.

”If that’s so... I’ll help him.”

Suddenly, Kyrian’s eyes shone with even greater intensity. The Qi of his eyes was released outward, and suddenly, before and around him, dozens of invisible slashes appeared.

Pure blades of his sword intent.

The slashes fell upon Tianhai like a storm of swords.

Tianhai charged against them. Each invisible blade that clashed with his sword still cut him somewhere. But it also refined his path.

His arms trembled with pain and exhaustion, but his sword did not stop.

The disciples in the stands screamed, some extremely horrified.

”He’s going to die! Kyrian is crushing him, if this continues, he’ll really die!”

”Someone stop the fight!”

”No... look closer! Tianhai... he seems to be growing stronger!”

Some could see the truth. Despite his wounds, despite his body being torn apart, his sword was alive. More alive with each passing moment.

Time passed. One minute. Two. Then five.

Kyrian was giving no space. His intent pressed relentlessly, creating more invisible slashes using his Qi as fuel, always crushing Tianhai’s strikes and pushing him back.

Tianhai had no peace, but that was precisely what was honing him.

In an elevated place, the elders looked at each other.

”Impossible... Tianhai is abandoning his body to refine his own intent. This will become a fight of life or death!”

”It’s not just that. Kyrian is also forcing Tianhai to give his best at every moment, but without killing him. Each cut is being calculated and controlled to hit specific parts.”

”He’s pressing and guiding Tianhai at the same time.”

”Should we... stop this? This is madness, if it were anyone else, they’d have already died from blood loss.”

Feng Yuan watched with glimmering eyes. But in his hands there was already a vial with many pills. And his gaze was focused to intervene at any instant.

In the arena, Tianhai now seemed a shadow of instinct.

His empty eyes reflected only destruction and his own sword.

His strikes were heavier, faster, and more precise.

His seed of intent was being forged by friction, like iron struck by a hammer thousands of times on an anvil.

Kyrian was focused and perceived it.

”He’s almost there...”

His eyes then shone one last time. Releasing his true intent completely.

A visible slash appeared, completely different from the previous ones. It was green, sharp, and destructive.

It was enormous compared to the cuts until now. Precise, silent, and lethal. Completely lethal.

It was aimed straight at Mo Tianhai’s neck.

For an instant, everyone froze upon feeling the strike.

In Kyrian’s mind, only one thought echoed.

’I hope this is enough. If not, you will truly die...’

The visible blade advanced like a guillotine from the heavens.

And in that instant... something happened.

Mo Tianhai, sensing the danger, awakened.

His eyes, once empty, widened. For the first time, he saw the slash approaching. The world seemed to slow down momentarily for him.

The sound, the wind, and even the heartbeat became distant for a moment.

And within his mind, an explosion of comprehension emerged.

’So that’s it.’

’My sword... is not defense, it is not flow.’

Tianhai raised his sword.

’My sword is pure destruction!’

A terrible slash exploded from his sword, carried by his newly awakened intent. An extremely destructive strike that even the cutting wind of the formation around seemed to falter before.

The attack collided with Kyrian’s.

The two sword intents clashed, releasing a wave of cutting wind that swept across the entire arena.

The disciples instinctively stepped back, their backs pressed against their seats. The wind struck them, leaving shallow cuts on their arms even at this distance.

And then... silence.

When the cutting wind subsided, the vision was revealed.

Mo Tianhai was on his knees. Supported by his sword. His body was a patchwork of wounds, cuts, and holes.

The green robe, completely stained with blood. But on his face there was a smile that shone brighter than anything else.

On the other side, Kyrian remained standing. Immaculate. Untouched. His eyes were cold and calm, as if nothing had happened.

He had used a great amount of Qi to unleash his sword intent, but it was unimportant.

In the elevated seats, the elders were speechless.

”He... he did it.”

”Mo Tianhai... he awakened his own sword intent!”

Feng Yuan finally descended, appearing beside Tianhai like the wind, so fast that no one could see his movement.

In silence, he placed three pills at once into Tianhai’s mouth. At the same instant, color returned to his face, the energy of the pills circulating through his body to close his wounds.

And then, Feng Yuan laughed.

”HAHAHAHA! The heavens have truly blessed my sect! Two sword intents! Two, in the same generation!”

Feng Yuan could not help but laugh from ear to ear. Feeling that the Verdant Sword Sect would finally see its days of glory again.
