Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1576: Chapter 495: Yangqu Council, Resistance and Alliance Hierarch’s Proclamation

Moao Calendar, Year 136, December 27

Yangqu Town, Lord’s Hall

An extremely heated argument is taking place inside the hall.

“Such a large-scale troop movement, Great Xia’s intentions are as clear as day. The lord cannot wait any longer. If we do not rise to seek assistance now, the century-long duration of Yangqu might be ruined in an instant!”

“Seek assistance, from whom? The Northern Three Towns or Dragon Valley? Sixty thousand Xia Army are stationed in the north, they are struggling to protect themselves, how can they save us?”

“Great Xia is merely repositioning troops; they haven’t taken any concrete actions. Chui Mountain secretly siding with them is already a well-known fact. Perhaps it’s just a regular troop rotation, what’s there to worry about?”

“Sounds reasonable, but the Pingkang camp of Chui Mountain is less than ninety kilometers in a straight line from our Yangqu Town, and Tie Ling camp is even closer, only seventy kilometers. Previously, two Numbered Armies were enough to give us headaches. Now seven have arrived all at once. These are not some Defensive Army, but elite troops comprised of fourteen thousand Cold Resistance Level soldiers. Even if Great Xia does nothing, can we sleep soundly in the future?”

“Even if we can’t sleep, what else can we do? Now even the Northern Three Towns are being oppressed by Great Xia and can barely breathe. Can we, from Yangqu alone, overturn the situation?”

“Request reinforcements! If the Northern Three Towns won’t suffice, then turn to Dragon Valley. Dragon Valley is right beside us; they won’t stand by idly and watch.”

“Even if Dragon Valley sends troops, what can they do? In recent years, relying on the alliance, our Yangqu has indeed developed well. Currently, the whole town has about twenty-one thousand Cold Resistance Level troops. Subtract the two thousand belonging to the Allies and over four thousand in the Hunting Team, there’s more than fifteen thousand left. At present, over thirty percent are dispersed among other towns, and whether they are willing to return to the town is uncertain. Even if they are willing, it cannot be done quickly.

So to speak, the total troops available for use in Yangqu are only eight thousand Defensive Army plus the lord’s one thousand Mystic Pattern Army. Even if the Hunting Team and all Cold Resistance Level troops within the town are rallied, the most we can gather is five thousand.

Not to mention the combat capability, Yangqu’s total troops amount to fourteen thousand. Dragon Valley is in a similar situation, say they have sixteen thousand, the combined force of the two towns is thirty thousand.

According to the reconnaissance report, Great Xia has currently deployed a total of thirty-five thousand troops in Chui Mountain’s Tie Ling and Pingkang, including seven elite Xia Armies. Stationed at Tie Ling are the Dragon Slayer, Golden Sword, and Zhaolong Armies; stationed at Pingkang are the Ying Wu, Zhenwu, Steel Mane, and Golden Eagle Armies, totaling fourteen thousand elite Xia troops, with the remaining twenty-one thousand posing under Chui Mountain’s flag. We all know they are actually Great Xia’s Defensive Army.

I, Yan Chenzhou, say bluntly that these thirty-five thousand troops alone are enough to sweep through our Yangqu and Dragon Valley, not to mention, in the north Muyin Town, Great Xia also has the Tiger Leopard and Divine Martial Armies, with no less than twenty thousand Defensive Army. Forget a pincer attack from north and south, even if Great Xia wages war on two fronts at the same time, eliminating us both would likely just be a matter of time!”

………

There are more than fifty people in total inside the hall. Sitting in the main seat, naturally, is Lord Cao Qianyang, with Army Chief Yan Chenzhou also having a seat on the left side below Cao Qianyang.

Except for the two, everyone else, whether it’s Town Chief Cao Yuankang who just broke through to Xianyang Level, or other core high-level figures of Yangqu with only Cold Resistance Level cultivation, are all standing.

The last lengthy statement was made by an elderly man in white standing upfront on the left side of the hall, with a long sword at his waist.

The old man’s name is Yan Yuchun, the eldest son of Army Chief Yan Chenzhou, and one of the three Deputy Army Chiefs of Yangqu.

When Yan Yuchun finished speaking, all the people who had been fiercely arguing immediately turned their heads to look at him, their eyes filled with surprise and doubt. As everyone fell into silence, the hall fell into a deathly silence.

Not only the people in the hall but even Lord Cao Qianyang, also stared at Yan Yuchun. However, he only glanced at him before immediately shifting his gaze to Yan Chenzhou on the left, seemingly wanting to discern something.

Unfortunately, Yan Chenzhou kept his eyes closed throughout, seemingly unaware of the attention, and appeared indifferent to the argument in the hall.

Seeing this, Cao Qianyang’s face instantly darkened.

“Yuchun, do you have any ideas?”

He hesitated for a moment, then eventually turned to Yan Yuchun and spoke.

Hearing the inquiry, Yan Yuchun remained perfectly calm and cupped his hands, “Since the lord is asking, I shall voice my humble opinion…”

With that, he paused briefly, then revealed a frankly expression on his face and continued, “If two years ago, the Northern Five Towns had united and not allowed Great Xia to successfully form an alliance, the situation would not have developed into what it is today.

In these two years, Great Xia has issued the Alliance Hunting Order in the name of the Alliance Hierarch, plundering various resources from the five towns; also through trade, they have earned silver from the five towns, extensively infiltrating the Northern Five Towns. To speak bluntly, at this moment, I can’t even be certain whether there are spies from Great Xia within this hall…”

“Yan Yuchun, you’re talking nonsense!”

“I am wholeheartedly loyal to the Lord, how dare you slander me like this?”

“You villain accuse others first, I say you, Yan Yuchun, are the biggest spy!”

………

Yan Yuchun’s words caused an uproar in the hall at once, with everyone turning red with anger, and those with bad tempers immediately began to curse.

“Even if there is no issue with everyone in the hall, can you guarantee that none of your family members and subordinates have accepted benefits from Great Xia?”

Yan Yuchun asked again with a calm expression, and this time, the expressions of everyone in the hall changed slightly as they instantly subsided.

“The wealth and resources of the Northern Five Towns, even combined, are no longer on the same level as Great Xia. This inevitably means that whatever the two sides do, it will always be unequal.
