Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 966: Chapter 355: Old Acquaintances of Great Xia, Chaos in Qinghe Village, Vajra Master, Xu Ning’s Surprise (Part 3)

With just a handful of people, trying to create chaos in a camp with almost a hundred thousand people, bordering on town-level, is simply wishful thinking.

Yang Ning naturally understood this reasoning too. After glancing at the note, he looked up and asked, ”If that’s the case, where does Jiangxia get the confidence to act? Could this be a trick to make us do their dirty work?”

”That’s unlikely; the action this time was jointly discussed by the Eight Towns. Jiangxia wouldn’t dare use such a sinister tactic to harm others. I suspect they’ve reinforced their personnel. It’s taken too long this time, eight months without a single useful piece of information. If this drags on, the other seven towns can remain indifferent, but Jiangxia will be under increasing pressure. Their eagerness to act early is understandable!”

Yang Ning understood immediately upon hearing that.

The stronger the deceitful monsters of Dajue Temple, the more dangerous the position for Jiangxia Town, which is closest to them. Meanwhile, the other seven towns do not have immediate safety concerns. For the time being, they are more interested in treasure hunting, so they have no sense of urgency.

”In any case, before infiltrating Qinghe Village at the start of the year, the Army Chief ordered us to follow Jiangxia Town’s arrangements for everything. Since Xiahou Qin sent us a message, we’ll follow his lead.”

”Xiahou Qin?”

Upon hearing Huang Lin mention the messenger’s name, Yang Ning was momentarily stunned, then quickly realized it, looking at the paper ball in Huang Lin’s hand.

Huang Lin waved the paper ball, showing a smug smile: ”I’ve dealt with Xiahou Qin several times in the past, so I recognize his handwriting. He should now have a strength of over thirty bristles, about the same power level as me.”

Yang Ning continued to ask, ”Then Commander, how do we coordinate with Jiangxia?”

”Just create chaos; on the west side corner, there aren’t any major figures living there. Just set a few big fires to distract some of the Cold Resistance Level individuals.”

Yang Ning nodded, saying, ”But after this move, we’ll have to retreat. We can’t stay in Qinghe Village any longer. I hope the arrangements made on Jiangxia’s side can actually uncover the specifics about Dajue Temple!”

When Huang Lin heard these words, a flicker of gloom crossed his eyes, but he said nothing and continued to detail the specific actions planned for later days with Yang Ning and the others.

Moao Calendar, Year 131, September 28th

At dawn, the streets of Qinghe Village were deserted with no one in sight. Though every household had lit their coal stoves, the village was virtually silent, clearly indicating that most people were in deep slumber.

Occasionally, there were some Cold Resistance Level individuals patrolling the streets, but their numbers were negligible, and they were mostly concentrated at the village entrance and the main building in the center.

Daytime in the Ice Abyss lasts only about two hours, so most people were in deep sleep at this time, making the sight quite normal.

As time slowly passed, half an hour quickly went by.

As soon as half an hour passed, a shadow suddenly darted out from beneath the main building of Qinghe Village, clutching several torches. Upon seeing the beast skin rug on the first floor, the shadow tossed the torches onto it.

Crackle, crackle, crackle...

The beast skin rug, with its fine fur on the surface, ignited instantly when touched by fire, and the flames quickly spread to other parts. Meanwhile, the person who had thrown the torch rapidly ran to several other spots, wildly flinging torches everywhere.

Boom......

The buildings in Qinghe Village were predominantly wooden, so the moment the flames grew, they instantly set the structures ablaze, rapidly spreading the fire.

”It’s on fire?”

”The main building is on fire, how did the main building catch fire?”

”Someone set a fire, someone is committing arson!”

”Quick, catch that person, they’re running!”

......

The arsonist hadn’t even finished throwing all their torches before several Cold Resistance Level individuals rushed out of the main building. Seeing the flames spreading on the ground floor, their faces were filled with anger, and they quickly charged at the arsonist clad in black.

”Not just the main building, look quickly, there are more and more fire spots in the village, over twenty, and they’re still increasing!”

However, before they could take even half a step forward, a loud exclamation came from above the main building, arresting everyone’s attention. They looked up to survey the village’s sky, their expressions freezing instantly.

At least twenty black plumes of smoke were rising into the sky over Qinghe Village, their numbers continuously increasing. The smoke was growing denser, clearly indicating the fire was spreading rapidly.

Dong... dong... dong... dong...

Nine consecutive loud bells suddenly sounded from the top of the main building, waking everyone in Qinghe Village from their deep slumber.

”It’s the main building’s alarm bell, an enemy attack?”

”It rang nine times, this is a call for help from the Zen Temple monks!”

”There’s a fire everywhere, quickly, put it out.”

”Help, I can’t get out, I don’t want to die.”

”We can’t get out either, we have to wait for the Zen Temple’s bhikkhus to come to our aid.”

”How did such a big fire suddenly start?”

”Help, help, save me, I can’t get out.”

”Where is the enemy?”

......

Although it was broad daylight, even if people were awake, they couldn’t leave their homes, helplessly watching the flames grow larger.

Those residing in the burning buildings met a grim fate.

Fearing the fire, they could only flee; those with Earth-digging Realm Cultivation could hold out for about ten seconds, quickly hiding in nearby unburned buildings. The Logging Realm individuals and ordinary people barely ran three to four meters before being instantly frozen to death by the cold.

The village was immediately engulfed in rolling black smoke overhead while below, the number of screams and wails increased continuously.
