Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 923: Chapter 347: Mirror Valley Council, Power Surge, Dajue Temple, Eight Battalion Tournament (Part 2)

Xia Hong stepped into the hall and directly took the main seat. After gesturing for Xia Chuan and the six others to sit down, he smiled and said, ”During my closed-door training over the past three years, I’ve barely come out, and haven’t had a detailed understanding of the situation in Xia City. Now that you are all here, there must have been considerable changes over these three years, right?”

In the first three years, Xia Hong didn’t come out except for that one time last September when the rituals for the founding of Great Xia were formally established. Otherwise, he had barely emerged, so his overall impression of Xia City was indeed still stuck in the fourth year of Great Xia.

Xia Chuan naturally understood this point, and he also knew what Xia Hong wanted to understand the most, so he stood up and began to speak:

”Allow me to first explain the situation of the Eight Departments! Three years ago, after the establishment of the fifth army, the Xuanwu Army, the eighth department, the Military Department, was also subsequently established. I appointed Yuwen Dao as the Director of the Military Department, leaving the Deputy Director position temporarily vacant. Luo Yuan was promoted to the Director of the Hunting Department, and the Deputy Director of the Hunting Department is now Hou Jing. Other than these two departments, the positions in the remaining six departments remain unchanged.”

Upon hearing this, Xia Hong nodded. It was inevitable to appoint Hou Jing to a higher position, considering the number of Cold Resistance Level individuals among the captured people from the original Zhaoyang. Granting some power was a way to encourage their integration into Great Xia.

He had witnessed Hou Quan’s performance on the battlefield just now, and solely based on Hou Quan’s current transformation, Xia Chuan’s promotion of Hou Jing was evidently a wise decision.

”Next, let’s discuss the overall population and cultivation situation. As of the beginning of this month, the total population of Great Xia stands at 821,746, which includes 5,054 Cold Resistance Level individuals, 14,547 at the Earth-digging Realm Limit, 189,245 in the Earth-digging Realm, and 425,827 in the Logging Realm.”

When Xia Chuan reported these five figures, not only Xia Hong but even Yuwen Dao and the other five displayed astonishment on their faces.

Clearly, even though they had not been in seclusion like Xia Hong, they were still not fully aware of the overall cultivation situation in Great Xia.

Over five thousand Cold Resistance Level, and fourteen thousand five at the Earth-digging Realm Limit!

Xia Hong silently recited these figures in his mind. Although he displayed traces of excitement, he merely nodded slightly after pondering for a moment.

This growth in data isn’t actually exaggerated.

At the end of the second year of Great Xia, during the Yanglu Realm Beast Tide, the camp’s total number of Cold Resistance Levels was 214, which wasn’t considered many;

However, after the White Dew Monster was resolved and the overall environment stabilized, and after gradually integrating the newly acquired large resource area of Long Mountain, supplies of beast blood, Blood Spirit Pills, Jade Bone, and other resources became abundant. The number of breakthroughs began to surge rapidly. By the third year of Great Xia, when Xia City was being expanded and the buildings upgraded, the number of Cold Resistance Levels had more than doubled to approximately 500;

Then, in the third year of Great Xia, the birth of his eldest daughter, Yu Yao, resolved the shortage of Cold Apple Jade Dew in one stroke. The existing Cold Resistance Levels in the camp had adequate Yangyuan Pills, and their strength began to surge. The number of Advanced Hunting Teams increased, accelerating development of the three major resources. The effect on the Camp Supply Department was a surge in beast blood reserves. Adding that slots at the Martial Arts Pavilion increased to 1,000, cultivation levels naturally rose rapidly. In a single year, by the fourth year of Great Xia, or when Xia Hong held a family feast, the number of Cold Resistance Levels had doubled again, surpassing 1,000;

Considering the growth rates of the first two years, the growth rate from the fourth year to the seventh year of Great Xia significantly slowed, which is understandable. It indicates that Great Xia had fully assimilated the benefits of building upgrades, and the development of the three major resource sites began to stabilize, hence the growth in the number of breakthroughs to Cold Resistance Level started returning to a normal speed.

”Since both Yuwen Dao and Luo Yuan are present, it’s appropriate for them to brief the Lord about the current situation of the Military and Hunting Departments!”

Xia Chuan paused for a moment, then turned to look at Yuwen Dao and Luo Yuan. One was the Director of the Military Department, and the other was the Director of the Hunting Department. Naturally, they were the ones to speak.

Yuwen Dao nodded, stood up first, and cupped his hands, ”Reporting to the Lord, currently the military under the Military Department has seven main units, established in the following order: Cloud Jiao, Long Wu, Dragon Slayer, Tiger Leopard, Xuanwu, Divine Martial, Longyuan. This time, to counter the Arrow Bamboo Forest Beast Tide, the Six Armies have gathered at the Mirror Valley Camp, while the newly established Longyuan Army last year is stationed at Songyang Ridge.”

”There are over fourteen thousand at the Earth-digging Realm Limit, so why only establish seven armies?”

Xia Hong immediately asked curiously. Currently, Great Xia’s selection standard for soldiers depends on solely one criterion: Earth-digging Realm Limit Cultivation. Certainly, not all fourteen thousand plus individuals could be drafted as soldiers; some must be left to work in the Hunting Teams and the Eight Departments. Even leaving 30% aside, there should still be over 10,000, so only establishing seven armies doesn’t seem right.

Upon hearing this question, Yuwen Dao immediately turned to Xia Chuan.

Xia Chuan quickly stood up and replied, ”Lord, this was my decision. Great Xia currently faces no external wars, and the territory’s environment is generally stable. In fact, seven armies are quite sufficient. Instead of incorporating them all into the military, it’s better to leave some in the Hunting Teams, where they can mentor the younger generation and further help the camp in acquiring various resources.”

Xia Hong slightly raised his eyebrows, instantly understanding Xia Chuan’s implication.

The finances are a bit tight!

Great Xia implements a system that integrates military and hunting.

According to the initial regulations set when establishing the Cloud Jiao Army, soldiers do not have to meet ore quotas; only half of the hunting harvest is levied; weapons, war armor, and healing pills for soldiers are all provided by the Camp Supply Department; every month, soldiers receive a military salary of 1,000 contribution points, 3 Blood Essence Pills, and 50 pounds of beast blood...
