Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 544: Chapter 238: Decisive Victory, Admonition, and Hou Tong’s Plan

In front of the Wushuang Main Building, Peng Bo tightly gripped the Ghost Head Great Saber, fully unleashing the power of Eight鬃, slashing towards Duan Pingyu’s vital points. In just moments, he forced Duan Pingyu from outside the building to inside.

It’s not that he didn’t want to escape, but Xia Chuan and a few others directly surrounded the main building. As soon as he showed any sign of fleeing, Xia Chuan and the others would immediately shift their positions, obviously intending to block his escape.

He could only flee inside the building.

Bang... Bang...

”Ah!”

”Spare me, Leader Peng, spare me.”

”I am willing to surrender. I ask the noble gentlemen of Great Xia to persuade Peng Bo.”

...

Despite the Wushuang Main Building being fortified with iron materials, it couldn’t withstand the relentless bombing of someone at the Cold Resistance Level with the power of Eight鬃. Huge saber marks soon appeared on the walls, accompanied by Duan Pingyu’s screams and pleas for mercy.

He even tried to win over Xia Chuan and the others, presenting a posture of surrender, hoping they could persuade Peng Bo.

Unfortunately, Xia Chuan was always watching the battlefield over at the Earth-digging Realm. Luo Yuan, Zhao Long, and several others at the Cold Resistance Level remained unresponsive, simply watching the main building, ignoring his cries for help.

Whew...

Duan Pingyu’s weapon, like Wu Xiong, was also a long staff. Hearing the whoosh of wind by his ear, realizing Peng Bo’s great saber was cleaving down from above, despair filled his heart. He dragged his injured body and slammed through the second-floor wall trying to escape.

However, already covered in wounds and weakened, he could not completely break through the iron wall of the main building, managing to get only half his body out, his legs still inside.

Crack...

”Ah!”

The saber came down, and with a scream from Peng Bo, his legs were severed, and his upper body tumbled down from the second-floor wall, headfirst like an onion planted into the ground.

Even with his legs cut off, the survival instinct drove him to crawl forward furiously with his hands, still trying to escape. Even knowing he was doomed to die, he wanted to live a few seconds longer.

But Peng Bo did not let him go. He leaped down from the second floor, using the momentum from the leg slash, gripping the eye sockets of the ghost head with his fingers, and plunged the saber into Duan Pingyu’s back.

The grip on his saber handle wasn’t just for fun, carved into a skull. At critical moments like these, the skull’s eyes, nostrils, and mouth holes, controlled by fingers, could yield unexpected results.

Thud...

”With so many wrongful souls at Yang Lu, just killing you like this is too merciful!”

The Ghost Head Great Saber pierced through Duan Pingyu’s back. Peng Bo’s voice, filled with overwhelming hatred, resounded again, signaling Duan Pingyu’s imminent, most vicious revenge.

...

”Ah!”

”Kill me, kill me.”

”Peng Bo, you beast, kill me, kill me!”

”I beg you, kill me, just kill me!”

...

As Duan Pingyu’s screams and pleas reached their peak, the battleground that still had some residual echoes instantly calmed down.

Everyone turned their heads towards this direction. With each saber strike from Peng Bo, their pupils trembled violently, a chill gradually creeping into their hearts.

”Gulp...”

Clang!

On the Wushuang side, the first person dropped their weapon and surrendered.

Clang... Clang...

A chain reaction quickly followed. More and more people laid down their weapons, kneeling one after another towards the Great Xia people nearby; those shooting arrows in the Logging Realm behind also dropped their iron bows and knelt down.

In fact, once Hong Gang, Huang Yong, Zhao Hu, Zhao Bao, Lu Yang, Zhu Yuan, and Lin Kai, seven at the Cold Resistance Level, joined the fight, Wushuang was already in disarray, and those still capable of resistance numbered just over two hundred.

As this strongest group laid down their weapons, the remaining Logging Realm members, including some very loyal ordinary people of Wushuang, also surrendered.

Seeing the complete surrender of the Wushuang camp, every person of Great Xia had an invigorated smile on their face.

Wushuang was conquered just like that!

”Bind and detain all fighters from Wushuang, then quickly tally up the casualties. Once finished, those in charge gather in front of me!”

Xia Chuan’s shout awakened all the people of Great Xia still immersed in the grand victory. The captains or leaders of thirty Intermediate Hunting Teams promptly began organizing their men to get busy.

Even Luo Yuan, Zhao Long, and Hong Guang, standing next to Xia Chuan, seeing that Duan Pingyu was doomed, went to gather their hunting teams to start tallying kills and casualties.

Only Zhao Hu, Zhao Bao, Zhu Yuan, and a few others caught the hint of anger in Xia Chuan’s tone. They exchanged puzzled glances with each other.

Soon enough, the thirty Intermediate Hunting Team captains, once done with their tasks, all lined up in front of Xia Chuan in three rows.

The thirty were all captains of Intermediate Hunting Teams, but due to differing cultivation, their status also varied.

Among those who came this time, the ten at the Cold Resistance Level—Luo Yuan, Zhao Long, Hong Guang, Hong Gang, Huang Yong, Zhao Hu, Zhao Bao, Lu Yang, Zhu Yuan, Lin Kai—stood in the front row;

The next two rows consisted of Zhu Shun, Ying Xuan, Zou Yuankai, Xiao Kangcheng, Zhu He, and other captains who had just been promoted to Intermediate.

Minister Yuwen Dao was absent, so matters of the Hunting Department were naturally to be handled by Luo Yuan, the Deputy Director. Seeing everyone gathered, he began to inquire about the casualties and gains from each one, summarizing them before reporting loudly to Xia Chuan:

”Report to the Minister, in this battle, our thirty teams have a total kill count of 782, including 327 from the Earth-digging Realm and 455 from the Logging Realm. We have detained 821 captives, including 252 from the Earth-digging Realm, 548 from the Logging Realm, and 21 ordinary people. Our department’s total casualties are 42, with 28 dead and 14 seriously injured, the rest with minor injuries.”
