Paragon Of Sin

Chapter 1690: No-Name (20)

Two figures blitzed through the void, slicing through light and space, rendering time chaotic and mana surging. With physical bodies that explosively shook the world with every thunderous movement or gesture or breath, within the Battlefield of the Fallen Divine, a golden claw of a heavenly lioness met a silvered fist of a draconic paragon!

Tumultuous was the world; shocking was the scene.

Waves upon waves, faster than light, pulsed and ravaged land and space equally, inducing a strange world of distorted colors and geysering mana, soon overshadowed by a deluge of resplendent, golden light—Heavenly Radiance!!

Silently, from the point of their contact, a crater spanning ten thousand miles and a hundred miles deep formed within the sandy desert night—instantaneously, nearly penetrating the core of this unimaginably sturdy realm that could withstand the might of true, terrifyingly powerful Supreme Sages! While the sky split, exposing the chaotic space and colorful spatial shell anchoring and maintaining the Battlefield of the Fallen Divine!

Then, the excited draconic roar that pierced through all the ongoing chaos was forcefully, and unexpectedly, transformed from seething excitement to genuine surprise! It cut off abruptly, lowering in volume and intensity.

Beneath the sundered sky, a figure was blasted violently through space, sounds of incessant popping, cracking, and booming sounds rang out thunderously. The figure was agile and ferocious; they leveraged the turbulent mana with preternatural ease, stomping upon the air as they were continuously blown backwards.

The figure was… WEI WUYIN!

Wei Wuyin stifled a grimace of pain as he seized his momentum, waves of shock coursed through his heart, reflected by Kratosʼ disbelief. A spark of intense urgency ignited within his mind as he glanced downwards at his scaly arm. This was the arm that threw his strongest fist of physical prowess to date, and it was currently glistening with a metallic sheen, violently yet almost naturally encroaching on his scales. He could feel it become increasingly stiff and numb, permeated by the purest aura of metal.

His right arm was rapidly transforming into gold!

Without the slightest hesitation, Wei Wuyin used two outstretched fingers and jabbed them at critical points in his right arm, imbued with Alchemic Eden Mystic Force or Alchemic Akashic Mystic Force! It carried the profound properties of containment and refinement. Within the blink of an Enlightened Sageʼs eye, twelve golden pearls embedded in his arm throughout its length, glowing through his scales and skin, began to condense carrying every trace of that foreign metal aura.

This was originally an Ascension Art that Wei Wuyin had learned from Zhan Jiangshenʼs memories, devolved to a Minor Ascension Art. It was Law aura isolation art that could swiftly allow one to regain their full strength without the impediments of a volatile, foreign aura mid-battle. It was an essential skill in battles of this level or during hectic, potentially fatal exploration of forbidden regions across the vast Dark Void. With his Alchemic Akashic Mystic Force as the driving force, it was far, far stronger despite being a Minor Ascension Art.

Looking at his sleeveless right arm, Wei Wuyinʼs brows subtly furrowed. While his swift actions had eliminated the encroaching dangers from within, the flesh, bones, sinew, muscles, and nerves within his right arm had been destroyed, ravaged by indescribably ferocious strength. It was as if it had clashed with a titanic-sized planet made entirely of the densest mystic metal hurtling at him at undodgeable speeds—beyond decimated.

”Impressive.” Wei Wuyin inspected the raw state of his arm in wonder. The pearls of condensed metal-attributed heavenly radiance, the state of refined energy drawn from the realms of heavenly laws and resonated with, was vibrating within, and if it was anyone else, they might have to discard their arm permanently, not even Temporal Reversion of an Enlightened Sage would reverse the loss.

”So this is the heavenly power drawn from a Major Authority?” Already, his Stellar-Paragon Physique was rapidly recovering to the naked eye, regaining bones, nerves, and flesh. It was an eerie yet incredible sight. With the heavenly power isolated, nothing prevented him from healing. Unfortunately, he couldnʼt expel the power so easily with his Mystic Power. He tried, failingly.

He was still only at the Mystic Star Phase, and while his cultivation base had been consolidated, he was nowhere near at the peak of his cultivation within this stage. Trying to expel such pure, heavy, and terrifying heavenly power using Mystic Force was a dream and a half for the current him.

”Iʼm coming.”

Two words filled with heavenly majesty boomed with a frightening surge of space and mana.

Sage Pakhet had given Wei Wuyin time after the clash, but not out of kindness, but the raw physical strength he outputted had caused her body to stall, and she had to spend roughly thirty milliseconds to adjust the terrifying outflow of power within her. The level of connection with a domain of Heavenly Laws from a Major Authority was heavy and difficult to handle for her soul, and while she had mitigated a large portion by using her physical body as a medium to store such high-level heavenly power, it was like a three-year-old child trying to wield a hammer—she was having great difficulty.

Despite that, she was entirely unharmed; her entire body exuded golden brilliance and her aura towered into the sky, painting the sky a golden hue as the scent of metal permeated the world.

Her warning, however, was also a silent ʼthank youʼ to Wei Wuyin. Those thirty milliseconds were more than enough for Wei Wuyin to follow up on several dozen times. Now, she had somewhat of a handle on this massive inflow and outflow of power.

She was stronger now.

And she would only continue doing so as more time passed!

Wei Wuyin slightly nodded absentmindedly, receiving her indirect gratitude without a word. After all, this was what he wanted—a strong opponent. Sensing her aura grow steadier, greater, and heavier, Wei Wuyin decided to switch his tactics. Using his Draconic Transformation had left him on the losing end of that exchange; moreover, the Heavenly Metal Radiance was invasive and hard to handle. He wasnʼt entirely certain if his isolated art would last during an intense combat, and if those pearls erupted in his body at a crucial moment, his life might be forfeit.

He interfaced with his six Minor Authorities, faintly resonating with six entirely different Realms of Heavenly Law, primarily the Laws of Annihilation and Origin. He had to eliminate this issue before continuing.

”NO!”

A defiant roar blasted through his Sea of Consciousness, echoing through his bones, and impacting his soul. Wei Wuyinʼs brows slightly furrow in discomfort. Kratos refused!

”I can do this!” Kratos bitingly shouted with a deep, unquestionable tone.

”...” Wei Wuyin silently felt the pounding of his heart. The will and fighting spirit of Kratos was unyielding and ferocious, worthy of a True Dragon. Kratos always had immense pride and a greater ego.

”We can do this,” Wei Wuyin didnʼt refuse Kratos in the slightest, encouraging him to act, and reminding him that he…wasnʼt alone. The six enlarged, mutated, and reinforced Minor Laws within his soul went quiet as Kratos took the reins.

Wei Wuyin felt his heart grow shockingly silent. Clearly, Kratos hadnʼt expected Wei Wuyin to simply agree. It was easy to forget that Kratos wasnʼt just an ordinary Spirit of Cultivation! When he felt his heart revved with draconic intensity, releasing repeated roars, Kratos exposed its inner happiness. Then, a domineering aura blasted into the sky, painting the golden sky a hue of grayish and silver. The clash of colors made the Battlefield of Fallen Divine resemble a true heavenly realm.

Within Wei Wuyinʼs body, he felt his blood cells rush forth with tyrannical momentum, aiming at the golden pearls. The bloodline and physical energies manifested as mini-dragons, and they engulfed the pearls. With hearty bites, they chomped and devoured.

Within three milliseconds, the mini-dragons formed of True Void Dragon Bloodline Energies treated the pearls as both a scrumptious meal and a foreign disease like antibodies, rapidly destroying the heavenly metal power.

While all this took time to describe, the entire event was extremely fast, and even Wei Wuyin was taken aback by the suddenness. Kratos could devour heavenly power? No…was this a type of cellular defense? His blood cells could act like this? The implications were not small!

Wei Wuyin could tell that even Kratos was shaken by this development, and there was a wisp of disbelief that it had actually worked despite it being the one to act! Faintly, golden streaks of heavenly radiance flowed through the openings between his dragon scales.

Every ounce of heavenly power drawn from the realms of Laws was intimately connected to the individual, as this power was temporarily given, not permanently bestowed, so Sage Pakhet had known that Wei Wuyin had sealed off a portion of that power. In truth, this effectively reduced her maximum output as she could only acquire a set amount of power using her authority. But when Kratos devoured the portion of her heavenly metal power, her entire heart quivered.

Her maximum limit hadnʼt refreshed, and what she could wield had effectively been reduced. She knew that power was gone… This could negatively affect her cultivation path of Laws, but she wasnʼt certain of the exact consequences due to her unfamiliarity. However, this did little to stop her rising momentum.

”Interesting,” Wei Wuyin remarked as a thunderous boom resounded—Pakhet was right before him!
