Paragon Of Sin

Chapter 1616 1609: Mystic Vs Mortal (5)

Shiiing!

The saber howled. The world shook. The end was nigh.

Wei Wuyin held the weight of a galaxy of power and then some within his hand. It was heavy, mighty, and invigoratingly refreshing. With a saber drawn, the Neo-Dawn Ascendant Emperor, also once known as the Saber Ascendant, could feel every cell within his body celebrating with unbridled exhilaration.

Simultaneously, his Worldly Domain kept expanding, seemingly without limits. The unfurling was aggressive and unstoppable as the edge of a saber, the roar of a dragon, and the inevitability of the elements.

Sage Springfield was not a novice of battle or ignorant of the effective tactics against Worldly Domains and instinctively clenched his Blackwood Soulpiercer, a Heavenly Treasure interconnected intimately to the Heavenʼs Realm of Wood while tethered to a Level Three Nascent Spear Soul as its Spirit and made with incredibly precious Mystic-World resources and a single Mystic-Heaven material known as the Infernal Oakwood that served as its blade. With the amplifying power of the Nascent Saber Soul and soul-rending innate strength of the Infernal Oakwood, this Blackwood Soulpiercer could threaten Enlightened Sagesʼ nigh-unkillable lives, even Resonant Soul Realm experts wouldnʼt dare let it pierce their souls.

Law of Wood - Minor Authority!

When he clenched his Blackwood Soulpiercer, a harsh pulse of law aura-enriched wood power erupted for ten million miles in every direction! His first move was to destroy this absurd Worldly Domain! He held nothing back as he poured his power ferociously within and sent out blasting mystic-grade energy beyond the edge of his 1.08 million meter-sized Domain of Mysticism! He sought to shatter Wei Wuyinʼs Worldly Domain!

Wei Wuyin saw this attempt as his eyes narrowed. Then, one of the crisscrossing belts spinning around his peerless-amongst-mortal figure illuminated with a white light of natural, pure, and all-encompassing radiance. The belt faintly became visible to those without Soul Perception as if trying to breach across a restricted domain, and while it was as transparent as a ghost on the verge of vanishing, it was still prevalent!

As it spiraled around Wei Wuyinʼs figure and danced animatedly with the other unseen belts, the clear astral light whirling about him, bestowing an unsurpassed brilliance of the Mortal Dao, became gorgeously white as well.

Law of Origin - Minor Authority!

With his free hand, Wei Wuyin grasped toward Sage Springfield with the serene gaze of an emperor.

”....!” Sage Springfieldʼs heart lurched. He felt an aura beyond a Law emanating from Wei Wuyinʼs rotating belt, enveloping his body, and while it was exceedingly faint, underdeveloped, and potentially weaker than anything like it, he recognized it with a degree of high familiarity.

”The aura of a dao?!” He whispered hoarsely under his breath. The disbelief within his soul rippled visibly across his blue eyes. Who was this person?! When he observed the other belts, his heart couldnʼt help but violently pound with shock at the potential implications.

Unfortunately, he didnʼt have the time or mental strength to spare. As Wei Wuyin exerted the Law of Origin, his soul felt a stifled suppression as his Law of Wood began to thrum and tremble. The sensation was entirely new to Sage Springfield. Was this...fear? Before he could unravel the meaning behind this sensation, the Wood Law Aura infused within this area-of-effect attack grew still and dispersed.

However, it didnʼt stop there. Wei Wuyin interfaced with his Worldly Domain and tapped into its unique strength as it began to emulate Alpha Omega Soul Light, the evolved version of Elemental Shifting Soul Light, and the various properties of Elemental Origin Intent!

The destructive deluge of wood power was systematically stripped of its strength as the Law of Wood aura within it was suppressed and the Worldly Domain slowly extrapolated the wood energies intrinsically within. As the wood power went further and further, it soon transformed into the raw, mystic power of a Sage. While incredibly strong, it could only cause Wei Wuyinʼs Worldly Domain to tremble very slightly.

In fact, the Worldly Domain subtly grew stronger as it absorbed and converted the energies that were expelled by Sage Springfieldʼs Domain of Mysticism.

With the threat defused, Wei Wuyin could hear Oriʼs unbridled laughter and amusement as it revealed its overwhelming dominance of the elements. Moreover, it seemed to exceed the norm by a large margin!

WHO WAS THIS PERSON?!

Sage Springfield was unable to contain any of his shock as the manifestation of his law reacted like a scared, terrified little girl who saw a big, black bear. It seemed to recede slightly into his soul. While this wasnʼt a sign of a Law possessing sentience or sapience, it was the profound instincts of his Mystic Soul being emulated by it after attaining a wisp of its spirituality.

With his Blackwood Soulpiercer quivering slightly in his hand, Sage Springfield concluded that long-range mystic power attacks were likely going to be ineffective due to this development with fantastic decisiveness. If Wei Wuyin could suppress his Minor Authority so completely, then he would simply resort to other means. He was a Sage, an Enlightened Sage, and was not limited to a single type of attack.

”Youʼre quite something. However,” Sage Springfield spoke, his voice laced with destructive and distorting spiritual strength as he executed a vocal Spiritual Spell aimed at Wei Wuyin, finishing his words with a bellowing shout that shook the void: ”DIE!”

Within that single syllable word was the intricately crafted Spiritual Art of an Enlightened Sage, targeting Wei Wuyinʼs soul from millions of miles away within a single instant. This contained enough Spiritual Power to kill another Sage!

”...” Wei Wuyinʼs silver eyes observed Sage Springfield calmly.

What was an Astral Idol?

It was the pinnacle of the Mortal Daoʼs representation of peak power for any mortal cultivator. It was the amalgamation of their cultivated efforts pushed to its absolute limits. At the moment, Wei Wuyin was currently in this state, with his mind, body, essence, and spirits elevated to their utter limits.

Idol of the Stellar Paragon!

But at its core, in the eyes of most cultivators, it was a raw amplification of every aspect of cultivation, and this included Spiritual Energy, Spiritual Aura, Spiritual Sense, and Spiritual Strength! Throughout Wei Wuyinʼs cultivation thus far, he and his Astral Souls have driven their strength to defy all odds and imagination time and time again, pushing their limits with the purest of Alchemic Products and even using Astral Tribulations to far, far exceed their defined limits within each Mortal Realms.

In the Soul Idol Phase, each of them absorbed and refined enough Manifested Spirit Energy for four.

In the Star Core Phase, they merged and then divided themselves into four, each reaching a peak of their formerly merged form, vastly exceeding their limits.

Their Spirit Forms have been time and time again refined by the highest quality products of their stage and even beyond.

Wei Wuyin tilted his head as he felt a faint tickle on his glabella. If before, it was like a strongman swinging a sledgehammer on marble, this time he felt as if it was a light tap of a birdʼs beak pressing against reinforced glass.

Pathetic.

ʼSo this is the true strength of all four Astral Souls in unity?ʼ Wei Wuyin remarked thoughtfully as he gently moved his saber across the void. Every iota of the void it touched ceased to be. This entire time he was adjusting to the weight and torrential power flowing through him. It was both familiar and unfamiliar, so he hadnʼt made a move.

”This is the fruits of our efforts,” Eden remarked at this time, its voice rife with thick emotion.

”Tch.” King echoed.

”I want that spear!” Ori thoughtlessly added, causing Kratos who was on the verge of adding something likely nonsensical to laugh. However, they werenʼt done yet.

Wei Wuyin no longer stayed where he was, and he took a single step forward. This step impressed upon the void, time, and space of every dimension and flow, distorting and directing time itself, and he felt the vigor of a True Void Dragon within his body.

Sage Springfield realized his spell hadnʼt worked, exhausting a tenth of his mystic power in the attempt, and he hurriedly executed a defensive martial art, as his mystic power which had just been spiritual power, converted into physical power. His body was empowered! Moreover, he shrunk his Domain of Mysticism to only his body, amplifying its enhancing properties to its peak while using it as a Mystic Ward.

Wei Wuyin jetted forth through the void. The speed caused Sage Springfieldʼs Temporal Eyes to pulsate as he tried to dismantle the distorted temporal flow of Wei Wuyinʼs movements, and shockingly, he did!

While Wei Wuyin was in his True Dragon Transformation, his speed was forceful and domineering, fueled by raw physical power, yet his past speed was like a gliding seagull compared to a diving hawk! He was unimaginably fast!

Sage Springfieldʼs actions of diverting his full power to his body, enhancing his reflexes, and reinforcing his defenses was a display of exquisite skill, and remarkable decision-making in combat, but extremely appropriate. It was almost textbook high-level combat tactics.

After determining the ineffectiveness of Laws and Spiritual Strength, he emphasized furthering his physical strength. Additionally, he kept his Law of Wood aura hugging his body, granting him a verdant green sheen of power that couldnʼt be easily suppressed and easier to control.

Sage Springfield didnʼt just allow Wei Wuyin to seize the initiative either! He pushed forth with explosive speed that wasnʼt in the slightest bit inferior to Wei Wuyin! The two blazed across millions of miles and met in close-range combat!

Their eyes, one silver and one verdant green, focused on each other as their auras, one clear and one vibrant green, intermingled.

Sage Springfield wielded his Blackwood Soulpiercer with two hands as he lanced it toward Wei Wuyinʼs chest with forceful, star-piercing strength. His footing was steady and he constantly pulsated with a temporal power and spatial power to twist any potential influence.

Wei Wuyin used his free hand, surrounded in all-encompassing white Alpha Omega Starforce, and slapped the shaft of the spear. The feedback caused the void to tremble. The clash left a faint print on the glaive as it was parried.

Sage Springfield felt the recoil of the parry, shocked by the strength of Wei Wuyinʼs body, but not enough to halt his assault. With a short breath, he pulled back his glaive and began to strike with a flurry of attacks. Each attack seemed to accumulate further strength and distort the surroundings. Each attack had the power of a 9th Way Ascension Art. Each attack had the power of the Wood Law, drawing strength from the Heavenʼs Realm of Wood itself. Each attack was like light, fast and smoothly flowing.

With his free hand, Wei Wuyin met each attack with a calm gaze and a forceful palm. He couldnʼt deflect each, but he deflected most. The rest were hit head-on blade to fist, yet neither of them took a single step back as they relied on chaos mana and solidified space to act as their grounding foundation. The world was in constant turmoil as it screamed.

Their skin rippled as the power of each blow invaded their insides and threatened to destroy them. Cracks on their bodies would form and blood would leak out of their lips and nose. However, Wei Wuyin used the Mark of Edenʼs lifeforce to rapidly heal the damage sustained while Sage Springfield used his own remarkably impossible healing art that wasnʼt in the slightest bit inferior!

Wei Wuyin could hear the feedback of the Mortal Dao like faint whimpers, but it was stifled and accepting of his showcase of extreme power. He could only ignore it as he moved with sheer focus and will, unable to be careless in the slightest against each of these slaughtering blows.

BOOSH!

Wei Wuyin finally threaded through Sage Springfieldʼs onslaught of attacks and struck his physical body with a fist. By exerting his two Laws, Minor Time Law and Minor Spatial Law, he destabilized his footing and sent him flying back.

”HAH!”

While flying back, revealing a twist of pain in his expression, Sage Springfield used this moment to throw the glaive with every ounce of his strength. The speed far surpassed even Wei Wuyinʼs earlier movements and vastly exceeded light!

Wei Wuyinʼs eyes slightly constricted as the glaive pierced into his chest! He was taken aback by the throw as he was sent flying backward for tens of millions of miles before he could even react, slamming against fragments of earth or unfortunate void creature carcasses. The soul-piercing power erupted with the intent to sunder his soul entirely!

Sensing the glaiveʼs terrifying fluctuations, Wei Wuyin detected a Domain of Mysticism! Sage Springfield had infused his Domain of Mysticism into his Blackwood Soulpiercer with some extraordinary art and used every ounce of his power in a single deciding move.

This attack was entirely unexpected and performed flawlessly. Not even Wei Wuyin was able to react.

Unfortunately for Sage Springfield, Wei Wuyinʼs Stellar-Paragon Physique was not ordinary and neither was his soul!

The Blackwood Soulpiercerʼs power tried to invade his soul but was met by not just the protection of six Minor Laws, which Sage Springfield had accounted for, but all four Astral Souls as they fully expected it! The glaiveʼs power was refined with each passing mile by Alchemic Eden Starforce and Seven Source Soul Light, drawing upon the extraordinary principles of the Alchemic Daoʼs refinement and containment! The glaive was drawn into his chest, ruthlessly absorbed by Oriʼs Astral Form under the Law of Origin shortly after.

Wei Wuyin smirked as he halted his momentum. Since the beginning, his Astral Souls have always been faster than him when reacting and they were reliable partners. This was not a one-on-one fight. He never fought alone.

The feeling caused his nine belts to rotate faster as clear light gushed forth from his body with greater intensity. Sage Springfield was huffing and puffing with an ashen pale complexion. That move contained roughly 80% of his strength and he even harmed his meridians and Mystic Soul to execute it in an instant, infused his Domain of Mysticismʼs Domain Seed within.

Suddenly, his body felt as if he lost contact with his Domain Seed and an emptiness swelled within his True Soul. He didnʼt cough any blood, but his eyes dimmed considerably in spiritual radiance. Without hesitating, he decisively brought out his third Heavenly Treasure linked to the Law of Light, the Shuttle of Dawning Horizon.

It was shaped like a textile shuttle and it wasnʼt large, barely the size of a coin, and Sage Springfieldʼs figure was on the verge of jumping within it. Moreover, within the area, ten trillion copies of the shuttle were created, each pointing in a different direction with the exact aura, and each carried Sage Springfieldʼs Soul Aura!

Battles between true experts were often decided by a single decisive move. If that move didnʼt work, the only option was: ESCAPE!

They split into countless directions!

”Done?” Wei Wuyin asked as he leveled his saber from tens of millions of miles away, the tip pointed at Sage Springfieldʼs distant figure across the vast Void-Blank Space.

”I am,” King announced.

A sharp light of imposing, irresistible, and inevitable annihilation emerged from Wei Wuyinʼs pupils. Adjusting to the power of an entire worldʼs mortal energies took some time. Not just for King to control but for Element to hold. The two worked in tandem to acclimate.

Only now had they completed their preparations.

Wei Wuyin held his saber with both hands. At this moment, the Mystic Dao and Mortal Dao vanished.

They seemed to realize what was about to happen.

Wei Wuyin lifted his saber above his head. Omega Saber Force bellowed outwards! The Law of Annihilation was fully drawn upon. The Law of Imperial was fully drawn upon. The Law of Saber was fully drawn upon!

As one of the belts on his belt spun, releasing a different aura of a dao, an ethereal sensation permeated across the void.

While fleeing, Sage Springfield felt his soul shiver as he immediately ignited his Mystic Soul, Mystic Core, and Essence Blood all at once, amplifying the speed of his shuttle. Shockingly, each shuttle in every direction seemed to flawlessly reflect his spontaneous boost in speed!

However, Wei Wuyin only saw a single cloud of sin among these countless shuttles.

Then, with his mind focused, he SWUNG!

SHIIIIIIING!!!

The howl of the saber rang for an inestimable distance!

THE VOID WAS SPLIT!

Sage Springfieldʼs eyes widened as his life flashed before it. He had never felt death so closely today. Unfortunately or fortunately, he would never feel death approaching again.

A ray of saber light swallowed him whole.
