Chapter 769: The Day the Gods Bled (1)

Helmond… Under Invasion

Helmond was under invasion.

This was a precedent in history .. something that had never happened before.

For as long as history had existed, it was always the demons who invaded other races.

Never the other way around.

Since the dawn of time, no one had ever dared to strike the demons in their own homeland .. and the reason was simple.

They were powerful.

Terrifyingly powerful.

Their cursed king alone possessed a level of strength unmatched by anyone in the world.

But today—for the first time—the rule had been broken.

The red skies of Helmond vanished beyond the distant horizon, completely eclipsed as the Great Ones surged forward with savage momentum toward the Tower of the End.

The Great Ones were not natural beings.

Each of them possessed a form utterly different from the others .. more like transcendent monsters from another reality.

Yet their grotesque appearances were not what inspired fear.

It was the overwhelming pressure each of them unleashed.

Pressure accompanied by roars and cries that sounded like horns heralding the end of the world.

The Great Witch Izalith flew beside the Tower of the End, terror etched across her face.

At the same time, the Eighth-Rank Upper Demon, Yosefka, emerged as well, organizing the defenses.

Her expression mirrored Izalithʼs exactly.

Because their enemies were beyond reason.

There were no fewer than fifty Great Ones advancing together.

”All of them… advanced SSS-tier existences,” Izalith announced, her voice trembling.

Despite being one of the Ten Upper Demons, she was not confident she could defeat even one of those beings.

Let alone fifty.

No matter how they assessed the situation .. this was an absolute catastrophe.

Yet the momentum of the Great Ones, and the fear gripping the demons…

All of it froze for a brief moment.

Because every creature in Helmond heard his voice.

The voice of the Demon King.

He was laughing.

Laughing madly.

A sadistic laugh that echoed throughout the world.

Before Izalithʼs eyes .. and the eyes of every demon present ..

Agaroth slowly rose into the sky, positioning himself alone at the very front, directly facing the countless Great Ones converging upon him.

The Demon King was awe-inspiring.

His body was submerged in dark aura, black hair whipping violently around him.

His crimson eyes blazed, as though seeing far beyond the boundaries of the world itself.

Yet despite his majesty, he appeared almost insignificant before that army of Great Ones.

Like a single black dot standing before a monstrous tide that swallowed the heavens.

And yet ..

The Demon King looked relaxed.

No—he looked pleased.

”How long has it been… how many years have passed since I last felt this sensation?”

Slowly, Agaroth spread both arms wide toward the Great Ones.

”Killing intent directed at me from every side.

The sounds of war declared against my existence.

Creatures with enough audacity to stand before me.”

His smile widened .. twisting into something terrifying.

The Great Ones had already reached him, having obliterated everything in their path and slaughtered countless demons along the way.

The first clash was imminent.

It felt as though the entire sky was about to collapse onto Agarothʼ head.

The Demon King narrowed his crimson eyes, sweeping his gaze across every enemy before him.

Behind him ..

The Tower of the End still stood tall, with the elite of demonkind gathered around it.

Izalith and Yosefka did not dare move.

The Demon King was about to fight personally.

They understood better than anyone who Agaroth truly was.

No matter how dire the situation appeared.

No matter how terrifying the sight.

The terror radiating from all the Great Ones combined…

Could not surpass the terror of the Demon King reflected in their eyes.

One man stood alone, halting an entire swarm of incomprehensible beings.

And then ..

The catastrophe began.

In less than a single second, Agaroth released his full aura.

The complete power of a monster who had never tasted defeat.

The pressure of his aura was absolute.

Crushing.

Overwhelming.

Space itself shattered around him, the force expanding outward in all directions until it enveloped all of Helmond.

In that instant ..

Every demon fell from the sky.

They crashed to the ground, forced to their knees—not by choice, but by compulsion.

All of them collapsed under the sheer weight of the Demon Kingʼs presence.

Even Izalith and Yosefka struggled desperately just to remain standing behind him.

The Great Ones endured his aura .. and continued advancing.

But when those monsters reached him—

Something unimaginable occurred.

The Demon Kingʼs body exploded.

It shattered violently ..

And from within him…

Erupted hundreds—no, thousands—of colossal mouths.

Grotesque, writhing, dark entities of overwhelming size.

Those abominations poured out of the Demon King, colliding with the Great Ones without warning or mercy.

The beings that once blocked the sky with their immense forms were completely surrounded in less than a second by the dark swarm.

Darkness engulfed Helmond.

And the war had begun.

The Great Ones clashed with those black abominations, annihilating one another in a brutal and horrifying exchange.

A battle beyond comprehension ..

beyond logic itself.

What Agaroth had unleashed was one of his many abilities: a power that allowed him to alter his very form at will, adapting it to the opponent he faced.

Thanks to that, in less than a single second, he overwhelmed the Great Ones—beings who had seemed invincible just moments before.

Amidst the chaos, Agarothʼs original form reconstituted itself among the Great Ones, who were still locked in struggle with the countless dark mouths.

Standing among them, Agaroth roared—his voice crashing like thunder.

”Come to me!

All of you!!”

His right fist ignited with raging, pitch-black flames, while his left hand glowed with dense, filthy dark aura.

Unleashing his overwhelming power, Agaroth collided with one of the Great Ones, striking him head-on ..

and the thunderous blow erased half of the Great Oneʼs body from existence.

Agaroth manipulated his aura at terrifying speed.

Instantly, thousands of dark mouths flared toward the Great Ones, each unleashing condensed aura blasts in the form of lethal beams that pierced through them from every direction.

Thousands of pillars of darkness erupted simultaneously, hemming them in from all sides.

Within mere seconds, the Great Ones were completely surrounded.

The destructive range of the Demon King was crushing .. terrifying.

That single assault alone was enough to wipe out an entire civilization.

Realizing the gravity of the situation ..

The Great Witch Izalith advanced immediately, releasing her full power and fusing it with her Blood Soul.

Using everything she had, blood erupted from Izalithʼs body like a colossal tide, surging outward to engulf the battlefield where Agaroth and the Great Ones were locked in combat.

The moment her blood encircled them, Izalith exerted her control—forcing it upward, forming massive crimson walls that rose so high they pierced the sky itself.

In mere seconds, Izalith succeeded in completely blocking the destructive fallout, shielding both the demons and Helmond with her power.

Exhaling deeply, the Blood Witch struggled to remain standing.

If the Demon King were allowed to fight without restraint ..

Helmond itself could be annihilated as collateral damage.

Aware of that terrifying truth, Izalith prayed with all her heart for the battle to end swiftly.

But Agaroth did not hear her prayers.

Nor those of any demon.

Because all that existed to him now ..

Was the battle unfolding before his eyes.

The Demon King moved like thunder, charging from one Great One to another.

His strikes were absurdly fast and devastatingly powerful ..

each blow sending Great Ones flying the moment it connected.
