Chapter 2832: Chapter 2832: Force Him To Drink The Truth Elixir

At the very least, if he maintained his silence, he might still cling to a microscopic sliver of hope for survival. Or so he foolishly led himself to believe.

”So, which one is your choice? Do you choose to tell us willingly, or do you want us to perform the Soul Search on you?” Yu Qi asked, crossing her arms serenely while waiting for Master Liang to make his decision.

Master Liang’s eyes darted around wildly. He looked in every direction, frantically searching for a loophole or an escape route. Unfortunately for him, he was no longer in the outside world. He couldn’t leave or slip away without Yu Qi’s explicit permission.

He began to carefully weigh the two choices laid out before him.

If he chose to tell them the truth willingly, his physical body might remain intact, and his hard-earned cultivation base might be spared as well. However, if he stubbornly refused them, they would forcibly execute the Soul Search on him. His cultivation would be completely destroyed, and his soul might even shatter, causing him to die on the spot.

Yes, the first option was infinitely better.

Besides, he could simply tell them the truth while subtly weaving a few clever lies into his explanation. They would never be able to tell the difference anyway.

”I will tell you everything! Please... just don’t perform the Soul Search on me.” Master Liang finally surrendered after a long, agonising pause.

”Good choice.” Yu Qi smiled brightly.

In the span of a single split second, Yu Qi’s figure blurred, and she was suddenly standing directly in front of Master Liang.

Without wasting a single moment, Yu Qi forcefully grabbed Master Liang’s chin, forcing his mouth open, and immediately poured a clear liquid down his throat. She then nonchalantly released her grip once she was done.

Long Hui immediately pulled out a fresh wet tissue, gently took hold of Yu Qi’s hand that had touched Master Liang’s chin earlier, and wiped her fingers with meticulous care. Once he was thoroughly satisfied that her hand was clean, he tossed the tissue aside as if it had been contaminated by something utterly filthy.

Master Liang, who had been forced to swallow the unknown liquid, immediately began coughing violently, desperately trying to gag it back up.

”You! What on earth did you force me to drink?!” Master Liang shouted frantically. ”I already promised that I would tell you everything!”

Yu Qi offered him a calm, playful smile as she listened to his panicked outbursts.

”I simply made you swallow a truth elixir.” Yu Qi explained softly.

Master Liang froze mid-cough, his frantic movements coming to a sudden halt. He slowly lifted his head, his wide eyes fixing on Yu Qi in absolute horror.

”W-What did you just say?” Master Liang stammered, needing to confirm whether he had heard her correctly.

”You swallowed a truth elixir. From this moment on, you will only be able to speak the absolute truth when we ask you questions.” Yu Qi smiled again.

”You!” Master Liang pointed a trembling finger at her, his face flushed with rage.

”What? It’s not like I harmed you, so why do you need to be so angry? Unless... You were actually planning to lie to us all along?” Yu Qi narrowed her eyes into dangerous slits.

”No! No! Absolutely not!” Master Liang shook his head frantically, terrified of provoking her further.

”You don’t need to worry if you are planning to tell the truth. However, if you dare to utter even a single lie, you will feel as though your heart is being stabbed by millions of burning needles simultaneously. The pain will be beyond excruciating. So, for your own sake, you had better choose to speak nothing but the truth.” Yu Qi smiled sweetly.

Master Liang stared at Yu Qi in silence. Right now, looking at her bright, gentle smile, he felt as if he were staring directly into the eyes of a smiling demon.

”Fine... I will tell the truth.” Master Liang finally gave up all resistance, his shoulders slumping in total defeat.

”The time has finally arrived. The elixir has taken full effect.” Yu Qi noted softly.

”Mhm... Let’s begin the interrogation.” Long Hui stated coldly.

Yu Qi faced Master Liang with a sharp, piercing gaze, looking every bit like an unyielding prosecutor about to interrogate a hardened criminal.

”Master Liang, tell me everything about Project Origin.” Yu Qi commanded.

”Project Origin was aimed at transforming ordinary human beings into cultivators, with the ultimate goal of allowing them to achieve true immortality.” Master Liang admitted, his mouth moving against his will.

”Were there any successful test subjects?” Yu Qi pressed on.

”As far as I know, no. There were a few subjects who initially showed favourable responses to the serum, but they all perished shortly after the integration process.” Master Liang answered truthfully.

”Since there were no viable results, why did you continue the research?” Yu Qi asked, her brows knitting together slightly.

”Project Origin itself was officially abandoned by us. However, the core research was simply rebranded and continued under a different name.” Master Liang confessed.

Internally, Master Liang was weeping tears of blood. He was completely helpless against the potent effects of the truth elixir. No matter how desperately his mind screamed at him to hide crucial secrets, his mouth would betray him the instant Yu Qi asked a direct question.

”Who is sponsoring your research?” Yu Qi asked.

”There are many sponsors. Billionaires, millionaires, and influential figures who are desperate to achieve immortality or extend their lifespans. A tremendous number of powerful people are willing to fund anything just to live longer.” Master Liang revealed the secret about the research fund.
