World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

When an Evolver learns a skill using a skill scroll, it’s called an external skill because it was learned through a medium without their own efforts.

There was a limit on how many external active skills a person could learn.

While being an unranked and Rank One Evolver, a person could learn five active skills using skill scrolls, while becoming a Rank Two Evolver increased this limit to ten.

But other than skill scrolls, there was another way to learn new skills. It was to comprehend them on your own.

The skills that a person learned themselves without the help of skill scrolls were called internal skills, and there was no limit to how many skills a person could learn through this method.

As long as your comprehension ability was high, you could learn hundreds of skills.

Of course, learning internal skills was very difficult, so very few people could learn even one of them, much less hundreds.

Having successfully learned his first skill without the help of a skill scroll, Evan was extremely delighted.

And this was a Rank Three skill, a skill that was even higher grade than Sky Fall, which was a Rank Two Skill.

’A higher-rank planet is really something else. On Planet Zarth, although I could feel the presence of the elements around me, it was far weaker than what I can feel here...’ Evan took a deep breath as he knew the biggest reason he was able to learn Touch of Thunder was because of the active elements around him.

Because of the ongoing storm, the elements of Wind, Water, and Lightning were very active, and combined with the fact that he had used the Lightning Element when he had activated Elemental Zone in Lizardman Castle Dungeon, gaining some understanding of it, he succeeded in comprehending a skill.

Opening his Status Window, Evan looked at the notifications he had received earlier.

[You have learned Rank Three Level One Active Skill—Touch of Thunder.]

[Your affinity with the Lightning Element has increased greatly.]

[You will have an easier time while learning the internal skills related to the Lightning Element.]

’My affinity with the Lightning Element increased even more...’ Evan raised an eyebrow in surprise as he did not expect this.

Because of his Elemental Apprentice Class, his affinity with the elements was already very high. And now that his Lightning Affinity had increased even more, even though it did not reach one hundred percent like his Wind Element, it would still be a great help to him in the future.

Shifting his attention, he looked at the details of the Touch of Thunder Skill.

--) Touch of Thunder (Rank Three Level One) Active Skill: Use 40 points of Mana to activate. Upon activation, increases the power of your next move or Skill by 30%. Deals an additional 10% of Lightning damage. When struck by an attack enhanced by Touch of Thunder, there is a 20% chance that the enemy will be paralyzed for two seconds. The paralysis effect doesn’t take effect if the target is three ranks above you.

Evan read the details of Touch of Thunder, and a look of surprise appeared on his face.

Instead of an attack or movement-type skill that he had expected it to be, Touch of Thunder was actually a buff and partially control-type skill.

What surprised him even more was that he only needed to use 40 points of Mana to use it.

Since this skill didn’t have any cooldown time, with his current Mana pool, he could use it over ten times without any issue.

Evan’s strength was already very powerful, and if he were to use Touch of Thunder to increase the power of his attack by another 30%, it would simply be terrifying.

What delighted Evan even more was that Touch of Thunder actually came into the category of elemental skills.

Because of his Job Class, Elemental Apprentice, all of his elemental-based moves received an additional 30% boost.

Touch of Thunder was also included in the elemental skill category, so the strength it would show would also be thirty percent stronger.

Not to mention, there was also the paralysis effect of the skill. Although paralysis effect was useless against people who were three ranks above him, Evan did not care about it as he had no intention of facing Rank Four Evolvers for now.

’This skill... I feel being able to use it only by consuming 40 points of Mana is simply a steal...’ Evan couldn’t help but think.

But suddenly, he remembered that not everyone was like him.

For other Level 37 Evolvers, even having 200 points in their Mana was a rare thing.

He was just an anomaly, with all of his stats already close to or even higher than 500.

If other Rank One Evolvers were to receive this skill, they might have been able to use it two or three times before they were forced to stop because of a lack of Mana.

’I love high numbers on my Status Window...’ Evan chuckled and closed his Status Window.

He looked back and saw Alice and the others staring at him silently, their eyes practically glowing with curiosity and envy.

Evan coughed when he saw the look in their eyes and showed a forced smile.

”No need to look at me like this. I just accidentally learned an internal skill. It’s not a big deal.”

Liam’s mouth twitched when he heard Evan’s words, and he couldn’t help but say.

”Brother, it’s an internal skill, not someone’s food that you accidentally ate. There is no need to use this humblebrag in front of us.”

”OH...” Evan did not care about Liam’s words and still showed a kind expression, an expression that made people want to punch him in the face.

Kevin shook his head when he saw this and chuckled.

”Anyway, congratulations on learning an Internal Skill. All of us are already Level 50, but none of us have learned a skill on our own yet.”

Evan raised an eyebrow when he heard Kevin, but when he remembered how rare it was for people to learn internal skills, he nodded slightly.

Alice and the others didn’t ask what kind of skill he learned, as it was basic manners to not ask people about their skills unless they were close to each other.

All of them waited in the cave for nearly six hours before the storm outside finally began to slow down.

Alice and the others looked at the slowed storm, and seeing that the sky was clearing, they breathed a sigh of relief.

”Let’s go. Nero wouldn’t have any problem flying in such weather,” Alice said and walked out of the cave.

Evan and the others followed after her, and a few minutes later, they once again flew towards Evergreen City.
