Primordial Heir: Nine Stars

Nero fell to his knees on the cracked white platform, muscles aching intensely. The battle had ended. The clone was no longer present. In front of him, the Essence of Earth shimmered softly with a welcoming glow.

He knew what came next. He forced his trembling body into a cross-legged position, closing his eyes. He focused on his breathing, on the deep, steady pulse of earth energy that was now a part of him. He emptied his mind, becoming as still and receptive as the stone beneath him.

The brown crystal hovered closer. It didn’t rush. It approached with the slow, inevitable pace of continental drift. It touched the center of his forehead.

A warm tingle spread from the point of contact.

Then, it entered.

The change was not just inside his soul. It echoed outside, in the real world, where his broken body lay beside the headless Ouroboros agent. There, the terrible wounds that had just been healing began to glow with a soft, brown light. The very air around his physical form grew heavy, and the shattered ground beneath him seemed to sigh.

But inside, in his soul on the platform, the change was a cataclysm.

The initial warmth vanished, replaced by PAIN.

It wasn’t the sharp pain of a cut or the burning pain of fire. This was deeper. It was the pain of something being torn apart at its very foundation and remade.

It felt like his soul—the core of who he was—was being put through a mountain-crushing press. Every memory, every thought, every feeling was being squeezed with immense, grinding pressure. He felt himself being shredded into a million pieces, dissolved into nothing more than primordial dust.

He tried to scream, but no sound came out in this soul-space. It was a silent, internal shattering.

At the same time, in the real world, his unconscious body convulsed. His back arched off the ground. His muscles, already strengthened by the star’s liberation, now began to bulge and twist. Tendons stretched like old ropes being tested to their limit. Bones creaked and groaned, not breaking, but densifying, as if more mineral was being packed into them. His skin flushed a deep red, veins standing out like rivers on a map, as an incredible heat built within him. A low, guttural, completely unintelligent scream was torn from his raw throat—a sound of pure, animal agony.

Back in his soul, as he felt utterly destroyed, the process reversed. However, it wasn’t going back to how it used to be.

The dust of his soul began to recoalesce. But not randomly. It was being woven back together by the brown, glowing threads of the Earth Essence. Each thread carried a principle: Patience. Endurance. Strength. Vitality. Foundation.

His soul was not being repaired. It was being reforged.

He felt memories returning, but they felt different. They felt solid. His fears, his doubts, his moments of weakness—they weren’t erased. They were compressed under immense pressure, turned into unshakable bedrock upon which his resolve now stood. His will, once like a flickering flame, became a mountain range—immovable, eternal.

His sense of self expanded. He was no longer just Nero in a body. He felt connected. He felt the weight of the ground beneath his real body. He felt the slow flow of deep underground rivers miles below. He felt the immense, patient pressure of the planet’s core. His soul’s ”quality,” its very substance, became thicker, heavier, more real.

In the real world, the changes to his body were just as extreme. The screaming stopped, replaced by a deep, rhythmic groaning—the sound of his very tissues transforming. His muscles didn’t just grow bigger; they changed texture. They became denser, each fiber like a braided steel cable coated in flexible stone. His skin, once soft, took on a faint, resilient toughness, like well-worn leather over granite. His bones, already strong, now felt like they were carved from the heartwood of an ancient, petrified tree.

The process was a continuous cycle: Breakdown. Purification. Reconstruction. Over and over. Each cycle was excruciating. Each cycle made him more.

He lost track of time. It could have been seconds or centuries. There was only the rhythm of the earth: the crushing pressure, the patient rebuilding.

He felt his physical strength evolving to a terrifying degree. It wasn’t about having more power to lift. It was about his body becoming an extension of the planet’s force. He knew, without trying, that he could now stand unmoved against a charging giant. That a fall from a cliff would not break him, because the ground would recognize its own. That his grip could crush stone not with effort, but with simple, undeniable weight.

Finally, the cycles slowed. The pain receded from a world-ending roar to a deep, throbbing ache, and then to a profound, humming solidity.

In his soul, he opened his eyes. He was still on the white platform, but he felt completely different. He felt grounded in a way that had nothing to do with standing. He felt immense. He felt patient. He felt like he could wait ten thousand years for a single, perfect strike.

In the real world, his body settled. The glow faded. He lay still on the broken ground, but he was utterly transformed. His frame was slightly broader, his limbs carrying a latent, heavy power. His breathing was deep and slow, like the tides of a great, sleepy beast. The injuries were not just healed; they were gone without a trace, replaced by flesh and bone that seemed forged, not grown.

The evolution was complete. The Essence of Earth had not just been absorbed. It had assimilated him, and he had assimilated it. His soul and body had been washed in the primordial foundation of the world and had emerged not just stronger, but fundamentally different. He had become a true sovereign of one of his inner kings. The Law of Earth was no longer a borrowed power. It was his to command, he had become one with it. What he did not know was that some of the residual energy from the essence slipped into his inner being stealthily, like a thief, to knock on the fourth star, breaking two black chains; it was his final gift to help their successor. Time was running out, those things must have been released as well. The seal works both ways.
