I'm About to Die, Can't I Buff My Junior Sister's Strength?

310: A Rakshasa accompanies an ancient Buddha! At this moment, Teng Xi felt her heart turn to ash...

A moment later, after bowing respectfully, Tuoba Qiong turned and left the cave, heading in the direction of the Imperial Pass.

”Senior... Senior Brother, can we go back now?” Jun Fengyan, who had been silent for a long time, finally spoke. Her tone was cautious, as if she were afraid that making too much noise would disturb someone.

Even though there was no one else inside the cave...

In her mind, Senior Brother had already achieved his purpose for coming here, so they could go back now. What was the point of staying any longer?

”No rush. Since we’re already here, we naturally have to take a look at this Legacy...” Shen Nian glanced at the Buddha statue in the distance and spoke softly. The Chaos Sword Prison Golden Body within him was already becoming restless.

”Huh?” Jun Fengyan was slightly stunned.

”Kid, this is a Buddhist Legacy; it’s useless to you. Don’t tell me you also practice Buddhism?” Baize said, licking the residual Life Water off his cat paw. By this time, his internal injuries had mostly recovered.

Beside them, Teng Xi merely revealed a trace of surprise before quickly withdrawing it, standing in silence. She was in no mood to observe such things right now.

”I know a little bit.” ”Let’s go.”

Shen Nian said casually, and then his figure turned into a stream of light, flying toward the Buddha statue. However, he did not use the Movement Character Secret, and his speed was maintained at the Void Return level. At this distance, even at the Void Return level, it would only take a few breaths.

”Lord Shen, Ao Wei is dead. Could you please...” Teng Xi quickly caught up and asked hesitantly. There was still a Restriction on her Divine Soul; if Shen Nian did not remove it, she would never be able to escape.

Shen Nian glanced at her and said, ”Oh, I almost forgot...” ”How about this, tomorrow I will escort you back to the Heavenly Abyss Demon Capital.”

”...” Teng Xi’s mouth twitched immediately. You call this escorting me back? Do you really take me for an idiot?

In the blink of an eye, the three of them had reached the front of the ancient Buddha statue. Teng Xi wanted to speak and retort, but she was interrupted by the white cat’s voice.

”Yo ho!” ”To think it is this person’s Legacy...”

Baize jumped onto Shen Nian’s shoulder, staring at the ancient Buddha statue ahead with a trace of surprise in his eyes. Before this, he hadn’t paid much attention, thinking it was just an ordinary ancient Buddha, but only after seeing the appearance of this ancient Buddha clearly was he somewhat shocked.

”You know who it is?” Shen Nian asked, glancing sideways. But he didn’t swat the creature away; after all, he had just owed it a favor, and of course, the main reason was that petting it earlier had felt quite satisfying.

”Heh.” Baize gave a disdainful laugh, holding his cat paws behind his back, and spoke indifferently in an old-fashioned tone: ”Discerning Yin and Yang, judging the Five Elements, deriving the sun and moon in one’s palm, knowing the past and future, observing the heaven and earth, and even measuring the secrets of heaven—that is merely the information of an ancient Buddha...”

”Kid, there is nothing in this world that this old man doesn’t know!” ”You had better treat this old man...” ”Hey!” ”Wait!” ”What are you doing again!” ”Stop messing around!”

As he spoke, Shen Nian grabbed the large cat head with one hand, his strong arm directly holding it, and continuously rubbed its large head.

”Every day it’s ’this old man, this old man,’ yet your true form hasn’t even fully formed. At most, you’re just a cub. Are you still going to put on airs?” Shen Nian chuckled, one hand firmly covering Baize’s cat head.

”Meow!” Baize bared his teeth, but his cat face actually turned red. It was clear that he felt embarrassed after being called out by Shen Nian.

Meanwhile, Jun Fengyan, who was on the side, pursed her lips and smiled, feeling as if she were bathed in a spring breeze.

”Kid, stop messing around!” ”The Legacy is about to close; if we don’t go in now, it will be too late!” Baize immediately glanced at the five-colored spatial hole in front of the Buddha statue and hurriedly spoke.

The next second, Shen Nian’s figure moved, and he plunged into the Buddha statue...

Dang! As soon as he stepped into the Legacy, Shen Nian heard a magnificent and ancient bell chime ringing in his ears. Illusions permeated the air; the common people lived in peace and contentment, everyone devoted to Buddhism. This sound also had the ability to cleanse the Soul, instantly making Shen Nian’s five senses clearer.

However, the next second! Chi! A terrifying demonic sound also rang out, carrying supreme slaughter. Scenes of mountains of corpses and seas of blood, of Shura Hell, kept appearing. Shen Nian, however, remained completely unperturbed, but Teng Xi’s eyes turned slightly red, and an uncontrollable killing intent appeared around her body.

At the same time, the world before them suddenly changed. Two colors, black and gold, filled the endless land, resembling a Taiji diagram with no end in sight. The black land was covered with Evil Qi and demonic sounds; continuously, killing intent transformed into blood-colored figures wielding large blades, slashing forward. On the golden land, it was the exact opposite: Sanskrit chants were recited, filled with peace. Buddhist Dharma seemed to have permeated every inch of the earth, turning into ” 卍” symbols that appeared and disappeared on the ground.

”Dang!” ”Dang!” ”Dang!” Three Buddhist bell chimes rang out, and an ancient voice resonated through this world. It was sometimes frantic and sometimes calm, but one could tell it was a young man.

”A Rakshasa accompanies the Ancient Buddha.” ”Half a Golden Body, half turned into a Rakshasa.” ”Seeing through the Mortal World, this life’s wish.” ”Neither failing the Tathagata, nor failing the Demonic.”

As this voice rang out, the Chaos Sword Prison Golden Body within Shen Nian began to churn wildly, causing him to frown slightly.

”Calm down, this is an anomaly formed by this Legacy. Once we pass through this world, we will be able to see the real Legacy.” Baize spoke softly, pretending to be calm, though inwardly he was also a bit uneasy. After all, knowing who the person was and seeing his Legacy with one’s own eyes were completely different things.

”Whose Legacy is this?” Shen Nian asked.

Baize revealed a look of deep emotion and said: ”In the Ancient Immortal Era, he was hailed as the number one person of Buddhism, with the hope of becoming a Buddha, and possessed the Lotus Sacred Body. When he was crossing the Immortal Tribulation, he was entangled by Karmic Obstruction, simply because his previous life was the strongest Demonic Cultivator of the Shura clan, the first disciple of the Demon Lord, and countless living beings had died at his hands. Yet, no one expected that he would create a magnificent feat: merging Buddhism and the Demonic, integrating the Shura and the Lotus to forge the Lotus Demon Buddha Golden Body. This corresponded to the profound Zen meaning of Buddhism—’Lay down the butcher’s knife and become a Buddha on the spot’—directly propelling him into the Immortal Emperor level...”

”An Immortal Emperor...” ”An emperor among immortals, a supreme powerhouse who would not be completely without the ability to resist even when encountering the Ancient Realm...” ”Most importantly, he was still so young and possessed such strong talent. If he had pushed open the Ancient Gate and condensed an unprecedented Buddhist-Demonic Dao Fruit, his strength would have been unimaginable...” ”It is a pity...” ”Such a Buddhist Prodigy actually ended up becoming a traitor...” As Baize spoke, he revealed a trace of regret.

”?” Shen Nian was a bit speechless, then said helplessly: ”You still haven’t said who he is.”

”Oh, oh, sorry, I was just expressing my feelings...” Baize immediately gave an awkward laugh, then said: ”His name is Li Qingyuan... he came from the Great Thunderclap Temple.”

”By the way, you might not know the Great Thunderclap Temple; it is a Holy Land of Buddhism. The four sects—Dao, Buddhism, Confucianism, and the Demonic—were all transcendent powers during the Ancient Immortal Era, not restricted by the Heavenly Court and standing above all living beings...”

At the same time, the entire world instantly collapsed, revealing an ancient land. At the end of it, a dilapidated temple stood quietly, and in front of it were dozens of figures sitting cross-legged...
