Inheritance of Two Trillion

Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Are You All Rebelling?!_1

Bai Xiaosheng swept out of the room, and Wang Ye flew into a rage. The managers remained silent as sparrows and dared not move.

Wang Ye picked up his cell phone, his face ashen, and dialed a number.

”Hello, is this Mr. Shang?”

Upon connection, Wang Ye looked around at everyone and pressed the speakerphone button.

”It’s me. You’ve been overseeing the project work, Vice General Manager Wang Ye. It must be exhausting. There’s a lot going on recently; make sure to get some rest,” came the gentle voice of Shang Wenshu from the other end of the line.

He was as polite to Wang Ye as always.

The managers listened silently.

Chen Daya gave a slight sigh.

Bai Xiaosheng’s stubborn resistance was truly reckless!

All along, Shang Wenshu had been subtly instructing him to assist Bai Xiaosheng from the sidelines. But he hadn’t been ordered to help Bai Xiaosheng confront Vice General Manager Wang Ye head-on!

Who is Vice General Manager Wang Ye?

He’s got powerful backers within Zhenbei Group!

To put it bluntly, Century Construction is just one of the countless subsidiaries of Zhenbei Group. How could Shang Wenshu possibly arm-wrestle with the big shots within the group?

Yield to Wang no matter what!

This time, with Bai Xiaosheng burning bridges, Mr. Shang would likely have to give up on him!

If Bai Xiaosheng, the project manager, was taken down, his own title as the chief person in charge of the project would no longer be legitimate!

Even if Bai Xiaosheng signed a confidentiality agreement, it would only be a piece of paper.

Who would dare follow Bai Xiaosheng’s orders anymore?

And now, who could save the project? If anyone had to be named, Chen Daya believed that nobody except for Bai Xiaosheng was capable!

Not even Wang Ye!

Were they really going to let this project be destroyed over a struggle for power?

How much effort we have put in!

Chen Daya couldn’t help but clench his fists.

He had been with the project from the very beginning, from land acquisition to planning, construction, and even the establishment of the project’s name. Chen Daya had been involved in everything.

Every part of Teles Square bore his footprints, his sweat!

Watching the project grow bit by bit, on the verge of its unveiling, only to see it possibly ruined—Chen Daya felt extremely unwilling to accept this, and a strong sentiment was welling up inside him.

It wasn’t just him. The managers here, despite their constant power struggles and factional conspiracies, shared one thing: most of them had poured their emotions into the project and were not willing to see it fall apart.

Everyone was silent, but within that silence emotions were brewing.

”Mr. Shang, there’s something I have to tell you,” Wang Ye said, glancing at Assistant Qian. With an outstretched hand, Assistant Qian swiftly passed her notebook to him, on which were listed ”Bai Xiaosheng’s ten major faults.”

”Oh? Please go ahead, Mrs. Wang,” came the reply.

”Regarding project manager Bai Xiaosheng, whom I appointed as the overall person in charge of the project, that was tremendous trust you and I placed in him. But he acted recklessly! Do you know what he has done? Listen...” Wang Ye read out the charges Assistant Qian had carefully prepared to Shang Wenshu without missing a word.

”Now, with the project in such a state, this Bai Xiaosheng bears an undeniable major responsibility!” Wang Ye said, pounding the table, ”Therefore, I believe, after the grand opening, we should pursue Bai Xiaosheng’s responsibility on behalf of the company in court!”

”And now, he refuses to hand over his duties, saying this project manager position was given by you and he wants your opinion.” Wang Ye gave a cold smile as he looked around at the gathered managers, ”Then please trouble Mr. Shang to go and tell him that he’s no longer needed for this project manager job!”

Wang Ye, this is really going for Bai Xiaosheng’s throat!

Chen Daya couldn’t help but clench his fists.

He had been submissive his whole life, but now he couldn’t take it anymore.

Indeed, Bai Xiaosheng sometimes behaved arrogantly and overbearingly, but he was decisive and resolute, each time managing to save the day, and he also turned a disparate team on a project into one that gradually became truly united and dedicated.

Such a person was the one to save this project, especially at this critical moment!

Not Mr. Shang, not you, Vice General Manager Wang Ye, it was him, Bai Xiaosheng!

”Vice General Manager Wang Ye, I think Bai Xiaosheng is qualified to be the project manager, and he is diligent and responsible. You can’t replace him!” Chen Daya suddenly sat upright and said loudly.

His voice resonated with an unprecedented confidence.

Chen Daya’s eyes showed no trace of the usual fear.

Indeed, what was there to fear? As a project manager that had become the acting director of the promotion department, he had put his heart and soul into a project that seemed doomed. What was there to fear!

Chen Daya was fearless, feeling the repressed gloom in his chest had been completely released, making his gaze toward Wang Ye all the more calm.

”I second the motion, only Manager Bai Xiaosheng can save this project!” Cheng, the engineering manager sitting next to Chen Daya, said loudly.

When Vice General Manager Wang Ye tried to make Cheng the scapegoat, it was Bai Xiaosheng who had spoken up for him. Cheng felt he needed to repay the favor.

How did that saying go in the novels? - ”A man will die for those who appreciate him!”

”I second the motion!”

”I also second the motion!”

”Manager Bai Xiaosheng can’t be dismissed!”

One after another, the managers spoke up, sitting up straight and unflinchingly looking at Wang Ye.

”What are you, what are you trying to do?” Assistant Qian couldn’t help exclaiming in shock.

”Are you trying to start a rebellion!”

Wang Ye’s eyes flared, he slapped the table with a smack and glared at the managers.

”Are all you managers tired of your jobs? You think the project can’t go on without you! Let me tell you, I could pull together another team, even if you all leave. You dare to threaten your leader? Is there even a place for you in this project anymore!”

Wang Ye berated them, while the managers kept silent but continued to gaze at him without any fear.

The formidable Mrs. Wang wasn’t really as terrifying as they had previously thought.

”Mrs. Wang, when Li Mingtong was still here, did he ever threaten the people in the promotion department, saying he would fire them? Do you know how the promotion department responded?” Chen Daya suddenly said smilingly.

Wang Ye frowned at him.

Chen Daya imitated what Wang had said back then, ”Your words might intimidate managers, but they are useless against us. We lower-level employees can get by anywhere. Besides, I guarantee that if I change jobs, my next salary will be even higher!”

”Listen to that. Why should we managers be intimidated? Isn’t it reasonable for us to get a raise if we find new positions?” Chen Daya laughed. ”Indeed, we valued being under the Zhenbei Group tree, working for a large conglomerate’s subsidiary company has a future, but...”

Chen Daya solemnly stood up, thumping his chest, ”When I don’t give a damn, you can’t threaten me!”

The entire office fell quiet, exuding a silent tension.

Following that, one by one, the managers stood up.

Wang Ye’s gaze was stern, and Assistant Qian appeared somewhat panicked.

Revolt, they all revolted; there was a collective rebellion within the management!

”Mr. Shang, did you hear this? It’s not just Bai Xiaosheng, but Chen Daya and these others, they’re rebelling too!” Wang Ye said loudly into the phone, ”I suggest removing Bai Xiaosheng from his role as project manager, and removing Chen Daya from his, as well as these people...”

”Mr. Wang,” suddenly a voice came from the phone, calm and slow yet steeped in an unprecedented authority.

”I said before, you’re too tired, take a break.” The voice of Shang Wenshu echoed through the entire conference room.

”What I mean is, in my capacity as general manager, I am revoking all of Wang Ye’s on-site authority, effective immediately!”
