Walker Of The Worlds

Chapter 2771  Meng Baiʼs First Teleportation

The rest of the days passed rather quickly, and Lin Mu continued to stay within the villa.

After the last few incidents, he felt like the luck here was just bad, and he might just encounter more trouble. He also restricted Meng Bai and the beasts from going out, much to their disappointment. Monk Hushu, however, was in full approval of this and was convinced that the place was simply drenched in misfortune.

Finally, the day of their departure arrived.

”Are you all ready?” Lin Mu asked as he stood at the gate.

”Yes!” Meng Bai replied enthusiastically. ”I packed everything.” He nodded firmly, looking proud.

”I got all the ingredients too!” Ashy said, holding up a satchel far too big for its size.

”Iʼm done as well,” Daoist Chu added, while Monk Hushu simply nodded, his arms tucked into his robes as if this were just another uneventful morning.

”Very well, letʼs go. The time is close,” Lin Mu said as he led them away from the villa.

The group quickly departed from the Imperial Ocean Quay. The staff bid them farewell, even presenting them with parting gifts. It almost felt like they were saying goodbye to long-time residents rather than just travelers who had stayed for a short while.

Arriving at the Teleportation Tower, Lin Mu immediately noticed the heightened security.

”There are a lot more guards now,” Meng Bai remarked, noting the increased patrols.

”Probably because of the incidents before,” Daoist Chu speculated. ”They canʼt have something like that happening again, after all.”

Even if Lady Yeon had a high status and the cultivation base of a Transcendent Immortal, she couldnʼt just waltz into the teleportation tower and use it as she pleased. There was an order to things, and she had blatantly disregarded it. Of course, had she requested proper use, the tower would have gladly obliged and even fast-tracked her departure.

But what she had done was still beyond the limits of protocol.

ʼI wonder where she went, though,ʼ Lin Mu mused. ʼShe talked about seeing her master… but who is this master, and where exactly are they?ʼ

The investigation into her sudden departure had revealed something shocking—her destination had not been any of the registered locations within the tower. Instead, the coordinates led to a random point in the vast emptiness of space, millions of kilometers away from the Jui World. By their calculations, Lady Yeon had likely been teleporting for days, yet it was still too short a time frame for her to have reached any known world.

When officials sent others to investigate the coordinates, they found nothing. No planets, no structures, not even stray asteroids. Just empty void.

This baffled them because impromptu teleportation to a random location should have been impossible. The towerʼs array wouldnʼt activate without fixed, pre-determined coordinates. It took the expertise of a spatial master to discover that Lady Yeon had somehow bypassed this restriction, likely through a unique tool only someone of her caliber could possess.

This loophole exposed a major flaw in the towerʼs arrays. Discussions were already underway to fix it, but implementing the solution was easier said than done. Many formation masters and spatial experts would need to collaborate, and at this very moment, several were already at work trying to unravel the security risk she had exploited.

In another situation, Lin Mu would have liked to stay and observe the formation masters work, but he did not have the luxury to do so right now.

As these thoughts crossed his mind, they finally entered the towering structure, just a few minutes before their scheduled departure time.

Lin Mu spoke with the staff about their reserved teleportation slot, and soon they were ushered into the inner chambers where the core array was located.

”Please stand in the center of the circle,” a staff member instructed.

”Alright,” Lin Mu said as he took the lead, stepping onto the glowing formation.

The others followed, with Meng Bai looking around curiously. This was his first teleportation experience—and not just any teleportation, but a cross-world jump! His excitement was barely contained.

”You havenʼt eaten anything today, right?” Daoist Chu asked, raising a knowing eyebrow.

”Yeah, I havenʼt. Just like you told me,” Meng Bai replied obediently.

”Good. Otherwise, youʼd be decorating the floor right about now,” Daoist Chu chuckled ominously.

”Wait… why?” Meng Bai suddenly looked worried.

”First-time teleportation can be rough. The initial phase is usually fine, but trust me, youʼll regret eating anything once we re-materialize on the other side,” Daoist Chu warned with an amused smirk.

Meng Bai swallowed nervously. ”Damn… Iʼll have to be prepared then.”

”Here, take this,” Lin Mu said, handing him a small pill.

”What is it?” Meng Bai asked, eyeing the pill with suspicion.

”Itʼll help with nausea. It prevents teleportation sickness.”

”Oh!” Without hesitation, Meng Bai popped the pill into his mouth, hoping its effects would kick in immediately.

HUALA!

As if on cue, the array activated.

Millions of runes glowed to life, and a brilliant light engulfed them. The sensation was instantaneous—weightlessness, an abyss of absolute darkness, and an eerie silence that made Meng Baiʼs skin crawl.

For a few moments, he couldnʼt hear, see, or even sense the presence of the others. It was as if he had been completely cut off from reality, floating alone in a void where time and space meant nothing.

The anxiety crept up quickly, but just as he was about to panic—

THUD!

Meng Bai crashed face-first into solid ground.

”Ughhh…” he groaned, his face pressed against cool stone.

”How are you feeling?” Lin Mu asked, pulling him up.

”Dizzy… but… oh! We made it!” Meng Bai looked around and immediately recognized the surroundings. ”The courtyard?”

”I had it prepared for this,” Lin Mu said, brushing dust off his robes.

Meng Bai was about to respond when his stomach churned violently.

”Oh… Oh no.”

”Ah, here it comes,” Daoist Chu said, wisely taking a few steps back.

”Wha—BLAAARGH!” Meng Bai bent over and began to gag. But after a few seconds he stopped.

”Huh... False alarm.” Meng Bai said, feeling better all of a sudden.
