Walker Of The Worlds

The Immortal Tribulation that Little Shrubby was undergoing was the Fire Immortal Tribulation. Since Fire was his best element, it was obvious for him to have picked this was right away.

The appearance of the flames though was different from any other fire that Lin Mu had ever seen before.

It wasnʼt just the color either, rather the aura exuding from the flames was unique.

It was like the aura of a punisher that was demanding its payment.

It was like the aura was saying, ʼHow dare one attempt to breakthrough!ʼ

Lin Mu knew this was the demeanor of an Immortal Tribulation and each was a challenge from the heavens themselves!

His eyes were trained on the immortal tribulation, not wanting to miss anything. After all, this was a great learning experience and would allow him to have an easier time when it was his own turn in the future.

~ROAR~

Little Shrubby let out a roar and resisted the flames that were threatening to swallow him. These orange and red flames jumped onto his body, and covered it quickly.

If a normal person looked at the scene, they might think that Little Shrubby was done for. But to Lin Mu, it looked different.

The flames were trying to burn Little Shrubby, but simply couldnʼt ignite his body!

,m His fur was highly resistant to heat and fire, so much so that even the Immortal tribulation couldnʼt threaten it!

Little Shrubby simply circulated immortal Qi and took this opportunity to comprehend the Dao of Fire.

After all, an immortal tribulation was also a type of an opportunity and could allow one to gain Dao insights. For Little Shrubby, this was even easier since his bloodline had made it as natural as breathing for him.

Lin Mu too sensed the faint Dao Traces around Little Shrubby and how they were being absorbed into the Dao Embryo.

ʼIf he keep this up, it wouldnʼt be hard for him to gain some Dao insights as well.ʼ Lin Mu thought.

Dao insights were the higher form of the Dao Traces and were hard for most experts to sense and comprehend. In fact, even for peak immortal realm cultivators, coming across enough Dao insights to fully comprehend them was vastly difficult.

Lin Mu continued to watch as the tribulation flames failed again and again.

”At least it isnʼt a variant immortal tribulation.” Lin Mu muttered, knowing that a variant might be a bit too much for the arrays.

The flames continue to rage and would change its intensity from time to time. It was like they were trying to lull Little Shrubby into lowering his guard. But Little Shrubby stayed staunch from the start.

His speed of absorbing immortal Qi also increased, and his Dantian was quickly being filled with it. Half of the spirit Qi within his Dantian was already replaced with Immortal Qi. And being naturally proficient in the fire element, the immortal Qi was automatically converted into fire elemental immortal Qi as well.

The Immortal Tribulation lasted for about three hours before Little Shrubby roused from his state of comprehension.

It was evident that he wouldnʼt gain more than this and decided to finish it.

~ROAR~

Little Shrubbyʼs body burst forth with his own flames, which pushed away the flames of the immortal tribulation.

And when the tribulation flames tried to cover his body again, they were ʼburnedʼ away by Little Shrubbyʼs own flames.

ʼLooks like his fire has strengthened again… his comprehension of the Dao of Fire should have increased. Perhaps some Dao insights have formed too…ʼ Lin Mu guessed.

Regardless of whatever it might be, Lin Mu knew Little Shrubby was going to be a great support to him.

~HUALA~

Finally, the tribulation flames were all wiped away, and the breakthrough was completed.

Little Shrubbyʼs aura rose like a volcano and even the array was pressured. Thankfully, it managed to hold up, or Lin Mu was sure it would alert the other experts in the city. That was not something he wanted right now.

A minute later, all signs of the tribulation were gone, with only the scorched ground left behind.

”Congratulations Little Shrubby! You did great!” Lin Mu praised the beast while rubbing his fur.

”Now Iʼll be able to help master even more.” Little Shrubby replied with excitement.

”You sure will.” Lin Mu nodded his head.

He then used his immortal sense to check little Shrubbyʼs body, just to ensure that everything was fine. There he could see the immortal Qi that was flowing smoothly within the beastʼs meridians as well as the large pool of it in the Dantian.

Rather than a pool, it wouldnʼt be wrong to call it a large lake.

While Little Shrubbyʼs stores of immortal Qi couldnʼt compare to Lin Mu, it was still many times larger than the average immortal cultivator. His Dantian was also massive and wasnʼt even at 10% capacity right now.

But the most important part was something else.

Lin Mu glanced at the Nascent soul of Little Shrubby and saw the red halo around it.

This was the proof that a cultivator had survived the Fire elemental immortal tribulation.

Immortal Taegu was also someone who had survived it and had a similar halo around his Nascent soul.

ʼThough the halo on Little Shrubbyʼs Nascent soul seems to be a lot bigger and also vibrant.ʼ Lin Mu couldnʼt help but compare.

He then moved his attention to the Dao Embryo of Little Shrubby, finding it to be a big bigger than before too.

ʼIt has certainly absorbed a lot of Dao Traces…ʼ Lin Mu thought before noticing something else.

Hidden between the fingers of the claws, Lin Mu spotted a thin sliver of red light.

”Wait a second… is that…” Lin Muʼs immortal sense got closer and finally saw it clearly. ”It really is…”

The red sliver of light was perhaps Little Shrubbyʼs biggest gain from all this.

”So he managed to condense a sliver of Fire Dao Insight…” The Saintess could also sense it within Little Shrubby.
