Immortality Begins With Internal Breathing

Two days passed in the blink of an eye. Within the void of the Primordial Chaos Pool, Lin Zheyu abruptly opened his eyes. His essence, qi, and spirit had now been fully restored to their peak, and the weariness in his mind had completely vanished.

Lin Zheyu rose to his full height as his aura steadily climbed. Vast golden blood qi surged from his body and transformed into a long golden dragon. As though possessing a will of its own, the dragon coiled around him, protecting him at its very center.

This blood qi dragon is rather interesting. Perhaps someday I can try refining it into a divine ability, Lin Zheyu thought as he gazed at the golden dragon.

Looking through his golden Heavenly Eye, he could see that the condensed blood qi dragon was more than a simple aggregation of blood qi. After leaving his body, the blood qi seemed to be influenced by some special rule that caused it to assume the form of a long dragon. However, that trace of special power was still too weak to bring about any obvious transformation in the blood qi dragon.

However, as Lin Zheyu’s comprehension of the Great Dao deepened, so did his attainments in the patterns of heaven and earth that contained the Dao resonance of rules, including shamanic patterns, demonic patterns, and Immortal Dao runes. His grasp of the rules of the Great Dao grew increasingly profound. He gradually realized that the trace of Dao resonance infused into his blood qi, which caused it to condense into the form of a long dragon, was extraordinarily profound.

However, it was still too early for Lin Zheyu to explore it. The rule of the Great Dao infused into the blood qi dragon was extremely unusual and seemed to involve the very origin of a certain Great Dao. It was not yet something he was capable of delving into.

Let’s begin. I will break free of the second shackle first, Lin Zheyu thought.

By now, his aura had risen to its peak. The terrifying presence emanating from him was as unfathomable as an abyss and as dreadful as a demon. Merely seeing him from afar would fill one with fear and make them afraid to look directly at him.

The sound of bones grinding and shifting came from within Lin Zheyu’s body. His frame began to swell, growing from nearly two meters until he stood almost five meters tall. Only then did the growth cease.

This was a unique characteristic of the Shamanic Clan’s cultivation methods. Cultivating shamanic arts was itself a form of life evolution. Throughout the process, a human’s body and physique would continue to expand until they eventually grew into a colossal being capable of reaching out to pluck the stars and seize the moon.

Every expert of the ancient Shamanic Clan was an exceptionally terrifying existence, and heights exceeding a hundred zhang were extremely common among them. The larger their bodies, the greater their strength tended to be.

Since the Primordial Chaos True Art incorporated the cultivation methods of the Shamanic Clan, Lin Zheyu’s body had also continued to expand under the influence of shamanic arts as he cultivated. His true body had now grown to a towering height of nearly five meters.

Six thick golden shackles materialized and dug deeply into Lin Zheyu’s flesh as his body expanded. His expression was icy as the blood qi within him roared like a dragon, producing terrifying, thunderous rumblings.

Within his sea of consciousness, immense golden energy surged into the Heavenly Eye. The golden Heavenly Eye seemed to transform into a miniature golden sun, radiating an incomparably brilliant light.

”Found it! Break open!” Lin Zheyu’s eyes narrowed as brilliant golden light erupted from them.

The immense energy within his body instantly converged into a single force and slammed into the weakest point of the second shackle. At the same time, his body shook violently as he thrust out both hands. Vast golden energy surged forth and enveloped them. He then seized the second Life Shackle with both palms, the veins bulging along his arms like ferocious dragons twisting and coiling around them.

He exerted his full strength through both arms. Every muscle in Lin Zheyu’s body bulged, and his face contorted fiercely. The six thick Life Shackles contracted violently, tightly binding both his physique and soul as horrifying pain surged over him like a tidal wave.

”Break for me!” Lin Zheyu shouted furiously.

His face twisted savagely, and his eyes were filled with blood. The shackle wrapped around his soul was even harder to break free from than he had imagined. As he struggled against it, the shackle tightened, sending unimaginable agony through his soul and instantly overwhelming his mental will.

Yet in the face of this tidal wave of pain, as though his soul were being torn apart, Lin Zheyu showed not the slightest intention of retreating. Instead, a ruthless resolve rose within him. Even as his expression contorted, the corner of his mouth curled upward into a cruel smile.

As Lin Zheyu pulled with all his strength, the energy within him erupted as well. In an instant, the thick golden shackle could no longer withstand the strain. Stretched to its limit, it began to crack loudly. Then, with a sharp snap, the second shackle exploded apart.

The mysterious energy released by its destruction transformed into countless streaks of golden light that scattered in every direction before merging into Lin Zheyu’s flesh, tendons, membranes, and bones. Meanwhile, the portion of the shackle extending into his sea of consciousness dissolved into the power of rules, which fused with both his sea of consciousness and his spiritual soul.

”Mmm~~”

Lin Zheyu could not help but let out a moan of pleasure. The instant the rule energy formed from the shattered Life Shackle merged into his spiritual soul, he felt as though his entire being had been elevated. From the depths of his soul to every part of his physical body, an endless wave of bliss surged through him and completely overwhelmed him.

As the rule energy released by the shattered shackle merged into him, Lin Zheyu’s physical body and spiritual soul began undergoing a profound transformation. Every beat of his heart thundered like muffled lightning within his chest. Boundless power surged from inside him, and he could feel the strength of his physique soaring at an astonishing rate. This shackle seemed to contain the profound mysteries of the rule of strength.

Lin Zheyu clenched both fists as boundless divine strength surged through his arms. He lightly swung his right fist. This punch used neither blood qi energy nor the power of the spatial laws he had mastered. His fist whistled through the air, and its terrifying force struck the void directly, actually blasting open a tiny spatial rift. This was the inner void of the Primordial Chaos Pool, which was far more stable than the void outside.

”What terrifying strength! This is true physical power, enough to overcome all techniques through sheer force!” Lin Zheyu murmured as he stared at his fist and felt the power still pouring endlessly through his body. It was difficult to imagine that pure physical strength alone could reach such a terrifying level.

”Ugh!”

Suddenly, Lin Zheyu let out a soft cry as his spiritual soul fell into a brief daze. His entire sea of consciousness seemed to boil as the vast ocean of golden energy churned violently and poured without end toward the Heavenly Eye and his spiritual soul.

The Heavenly Eye deep within his sea of consciousness and the spiritual soul floating in the void seemed to become two black holes, voraciously devouring the golden energy. Under their astonishing rate of absorption, two enormous energy vortices formed within the golden ocean.

Lin Zheyu could feel that both his spiritual soul and the golden Heavenly Eye deep within his sea of consciousness were undergoing tremendous transformations. The changes to his soul left his consciousness hazy and his mind muddled. He hurriedly calmed himself, sat cross-legged in the void, and began absorbing everything he had gained from breaking free of the shackle.

Time passed slowly. In the blink of an eye, ten days went by. Throughout those ten days, Lin Zheyu did not leave the courtyard even once. From beginning to end, he remained seated cross-legged within the void of the Primordial Chaos Pool, waiting for his soul’s transformation to conclude.

That day, within the void of the Primordial Chaos Pool, Lin Zheyu’s brow suddenly twitched after he had sat there for an unknown length of time. He slowly opened his eyes. His gaze was calm and peaceful, filled with the pure, curious light of a newborn infant. He felt as though he had been reincarnated and spent an immeasurably long time within his mother’s womb, enjoying the most comfortable sleep of his life.

As his spiritual soul underwent their transformation, Lin Zheyu’s consciousness drifted into a hazy slumber, where he experienced an extraordinarily peaceful and prolonged dream. The dream was filled with strange and fantastical sights, but when he awoke, he could no longer remember any of it. Even so, he felt indescribably refreshed, and his spirit was fuller and more vigorous than ever before.

Lin Zheyu stretched contentedly, feeling as though he had returned to his days as a mortal and had just awakened from a wonderfully restful sleep. ”It has been so long since I slept this comfortably.”
