Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 1066: Benson’s Plight

Lightning Blade had learned to not take any hasty actions anymore and remained calm in abnormal situations.

Firstly, acting without much knowledge was considered idiotic. Secondly, one should only act once they learn their enemies’ objective.

Lastly, to avoid alerting the enemies, they must maintain an act of ignorance to bait and trap them in one fall swoop.

These were all the main cores that a Team Leader must know. Otherwise, they shouldn’t even take on such a responsible role and lead others.

”Alright, I shall inform my subordinates to investigate the surroundings as usual protocol.” Dark Night responded.

It was the norm for the Vanguard Guild to send people to patrol the area alongside the hired NPC guards. Hence, such action would not arouse any suspicion unless they deliberately behaved in an abnormal manner.

”Good, I’ll count on you in this matter.” Lightning Blade soon bid farewell and promptly arrived at the Town Hall.

A few minutes later, he relayed the findings and subsequent actions to Veronica.

”More problems?” Veronica frowned and her expression darkened.

”Have you contacted the Guild Commanders? They are above me in rankings.” She lashed out and wondered why everyone was searching for her.

She had barely finished a meeting with the other first-rate guilds and made a big business deal. Just when she thought she could get some rest and take a breather, Lightning Blade came here to announce some bad news.

Even a saint or Buddha would be enraged by the neverending pile of workload.

In response, Lightning Blade kept his head low, clearly avoiding the topic of contacting the Guild Commanders.

For once, one of them had been in name only and barely shown themselves.

The other one was very well-known and not many people would dare to contact her.

As for the one above them, that was even scarier than anyone else.

Who didn’t know their supposedly calm-looking Guild Leader was the decision-maker who helped solidify the Vanguard Guild’s foundation?

”Why are you avoiding my eyesight?” Veronica wasn’t going to let it slide and questioned. ”You best answer properly or I’m going to make you suffer the same fate as Benson.”

”The same as Benson?” As if his tail had been stepped on, Lightning Blade swiftly raised his head and responded, ”Only the Guild Captain is amiable and easy to converse with. The Guild Leader cannot be communicated unless they contact us first. The other Guild Commanders are unavailable and nobody had contact with them.”𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Seeing how effective the threat was, Veronica became amused.

’Seems like this Benson shouldn’t be reinstated of proper duty anytime soon.’ She thought to herself.

She didn’t anticipate his action could cause such a deterrence and become a constant reminder to the elite members to not slack off. Otherwise, they would easily lose their wage and position in the blink of an eye.

While Veronica held such a thought, a certain individual who was still busy trying to become a tour guide for newcomers suddenly sneezed loudly.

”Achoo!” Benson’s sudden sneeze startled the newcomers who were a trio group.

They were all women and seeing how Benson could sneeze all of a sudden, a look of disgust flashed in their faces.

”Uh, sorry, I think we’ll get someone else to become our tour guide instead.” One of them said and quickly spotted another Vanguard Guild member.

”Hello, can you be recruited as a tour guide? My friends here are new here and have money” They rushed over to them and asked gently.

”Of course, I can.” The member was none other than Kailey, who held a sympathetic look toward Benson. How nice of him to send customers in her direction.

She hurriedly received the payment from the group and gave a subtle wink at Benson, seemingly thanking him for the present.

In response, Benson’s face seemed to have aged for another 5 years. He slumped to the ground and looked helpless.

”Why must I suffer here?” He bit his lips softly. Just when he thought his life trajectory couldn’t go any more low, he suddenly got bumped by a person.

”Hey, watch where you’re going!” Benson lost his cool and shouted coldly.

”Oh, sorry—” The person who bumped into Benson was about to apologize until they recognized him. ”Wait, aren’t you part of our team?”

”...”

At this moment, Benson was on the verge of crying. Nothing was more depressing and frustrating than meeting his team member of the Night Team. This was especially true when they were a new batch of members directly promoted from the training hall after showing satisfactory results.

”Haha, I didn’t realize you were taking a break from being a tour guide.” The person laughed heartily.

”I knew about Kailey personally being appointed to be the tour guide to give people a good impression of our guild. But you, on the other hand... I pray for you.” They continued, clearly taking a jab at Benson.

At this moment, nobody in the Vanguard Guild hadn’t heard about Benson’s infamous deed. It was already a miracle that he could stay in the guild after publicly exposing his own team’s layout and plan.

Not even a traitor would blatantly commit such a bold action in front of everyone.

”You’re Cade, right?” Benson coolly said and continued, ”You best pray for yourself instead. Once I’m reinstated officially in the team, you’ll be under my supervision.”

”Sure, I’ll definitely make sure to pay attention to Senior’s guidance when that happens. I will avoid everything you said and do the opposite to maintain my position.” Cade said cheerfully and waved his hand.

”Anyway, the Team Leader has called for my presence, so I won’t converse further. You can continue trying to be a salesman to see if anyone will hire you and not be disgusted~”

Having said that, Cade left in big strides.

Meanwhile, Benson’s expression turned purple because the last remark meant that Cade had witnessed the scene and purposely bumped into him.

’Damn it all!’ Benson cursed silently. He swore to heaven that if granted one chance, he would definitely commit them with his utmost effort.
