Holding Their Own Space, the Family Returns to the Apocalypse

263: My name is Ai YueGuo Shengyan also added, ”Also, everyone keep an eye on those around you. If you notice anything unusual, tell me first. If you’re accidentally assimilated by the zombies, then I’m sorry, we’ll have to clear you out. So you must pay attention to your own safety; everything is for everyone’s survival.”

Xu Chuang nodded. ”Did everyone hear that clearly?”

The others nodded one after another with lingering fear.

Guo Shengyan leaned close to Xu Chuang and whispered with a worried face, ”What do we do next? We don’t have any communication tools to contact the outside, we can’t fight our way out, and we don’t know when the monster under our feet will wake up. We have to find a way to save ourselves.”

Xu Chuang patted his shoulder to comfort him, ”Don’t worry, the people outside can see the situation we’re facing very clearly. We don’t need to struggle to contact them. For now, let’s just search for information about this monster.”

Guo Shengyan was stunned for a moment. Right, technology exists. After living in the Apocalypse for a few years, he had forgotten about technology.

After resting for a while, the remaining people were divided into three groups. Xu Chuang said, ”I’ll take some people to the head, Guo Shengyan, you take some to investigate the sides, and the rest go to the tail. If you find anything unusual, don’t act rashly. We’ll go check it out together later.”

Seeing everyone nod in agreement, Xu Chuang was just about to say ’let’s go’ when he was interrupted.

”Look, what’s that? Is it a person?” someone suddenly said.

Everyone looked in the direction the person pointed, only to see a figure quickly flashing from the direction they had come from.

In the blink of an eye, the figure broke into the zombie crowd.

The zombies were like cutting melons and vegetables in her hands; she broke through the crowd instantly and reached the Nameless Monster’s side.

The group of zombies behind her was like a drop of water splashing into a boiling oil pan, suddenly erupting as they all pounced toward the figure.

The figure leaped and landed right in front of Xu Chuang.

Everyone looked and saw it was a young, beautiful woman with a round face.

Stunned by her fluid movements, someone couldn’t help but ask, ”Who are you?”

The woman smiled slightly and said concisely, ”Ai Yue!”

”You... how did you come here alone? It’s so dangerous,” Xu Chuang said with a frown.

Ai Yue said nonchalantly, ”Is it? It’s fine!”

Everyone: ”...”

”These zombies are all awake and very powerful. They’re basically Level 3, and there are even more than a dozen High-level Zombies. Are you here to clear these obstacles since your ability is so strong?” Xu Chuang asked.

”The zombies below aren’t for me to clear; I only have one goal.” Ai Yue stomped her foot to indicate her target was the monster.

She then added, ”By the way, I’m going to investigate the monster’s head. You guys go somewhere else.”

Hearing this, Xu Chuang’s heart stirred and he said, ”No, we’ve already divided the groups. I’m taking my people to investigate the head. Besides, it’s not safe for you alone. Let’s go together.”

Ai Yue raised her eyebrows slightly, understanding they were afraid she would get something for herself.

Her sixth sense told her that a secret was hidden in the monster’s head, but it was extremely dangerous.

She had originally wanted them to stay away to prevent them from losing their lives if something happened.

Since they insisted on following, it didn’t matter.

Ai Yue said, ”Suit yourselves.” She then turned around and walked toward the monster’s head without looking back.

Xu Chuang quickly said, ”Let’s go.”

He immediately led his people to follow behind Ai Yue.

Xu Chuang thought to himself that she was a big shot; following her would always be safer.

Ai Yue didn’t mind the tagalongs behind her and cautiously approached the top of the monster’s head.

Looking down from the top, she could vaguely see the shimmering white bones of the monster’s right face.

Ai Yue crouched down and tugged at the monster’s fur under her feet. She found it very sturdy and capable of supporting a person’s weight without any problem.

Without hesitation, she grabbed the fur and climbed toward the right face step by step.

Xu Chuang and the others followed suit, climbing down one after another.

In a few quick moves, Ai Yue reached the hollowed-out bone area. Below the bone, there was a small protruding platform that could barely fit three people.

Ai Yue stood on the small platform and peered inside through the gaps in the bone.

However, the gaps in the monster’s right facial bone were pitch black, making it impossible to see anything clearly.

Ai Yue reached for her waist, and a flashlight appeared in her hand.

She turned on the flashlight and shone it inside. Under the light, she saw a crimson interior and could even see thick blood vessels on the walls.

Logically, this should be a sticky, foul-smelling place, but as Ai Yue poked her head in, she found the environment was the exact opposite.

A special fragrance lingered around Ai Yue’s nose, and it was also very dry inside.

The moment Ai Yue smelled the fragrance, she took a Gas Mask out of her Space and put it on.

Then, she carefully stepped inside.

Stepping on the ground felt springy and quite comfortable.

Ai Yue walked slowly step by step with her flashlight, carefully observing the surroundings.

At this time, Xu Chuang and the others from outside also entered one by one.

Everyone looked at this two-meter-high ’cave’ in surprise.

Seeing Ai Yue wearing a Gas Mask, the others weren’t stupid and immediately realized there was something wrong with the air in this Space.

They all held their breath and found pieces of cloth to cover their noses and mouths.

”Miss Ai Yue, why is the monster’s face like this? It’s not rotten, it’s quite clean, and there’s a fragrance in the air that smells wonderful,” Xu Chuang said, leaning closer to Ai Yue.

Ai Yue didn’t know what was going on either, so she could only shake her head at Xu Chuang’s question.

She looked at the thick blood vessels on the wall and said solemnly, ”Xu Chuang, take your people and leave quickly while you still can. If you wait any longer, you won’t be able to leave even if you want to. By then, it’ll be too late for regrets.”

Without much thought, Xu Chuang immediately said, ”Miss Ai Yue, we won’t leave. Don’t worry, we won’t regret it either.”

Ai Yue nodded to show she understood. She had already given her warning; if something really happened, her conscience would be clear.

Seeing Ai Yue observing something, those with Fire Superpowers quickly ignited small fireballs at their fingertips and imitated Ai Yue, looking around.

Ai Yue finished a circuit and found nothing else, but on the innermost wall about a meter high, there was a spot slightly darker than the rest.

It was hard to see without looking closely. Ai Yue walked straight over with her flashlight.

Once she reached it, Ai Yue reached out and pressed it. Unexpectedly, it turned into a thin membrane and slowly rose up, revealing a passage the height of a person.
