Holding Their Own Space, the Family Returns to the Apocalypse

24: Continue to purchase for freeWith a dark expression, Ai Yue stripped off her diving gear and took out a map of the city to carefully plan her route. After reviewing it three times and ensuring she had memorized the locations, she jumped onto the assault boat and headed straight for her destination.

She was heading for various gold shops. In the future, gold, jade, and antiques would be useless, and no one would care about them, so she would reluctantly ensure they were put to good use.

Following the map in her mind, she steered the assault boat and disappeared into the curtain of rain.

Countless people saw Ai Yue’s assault boat along the way, but the rain was too heavy to see the person on board, and no one dared to venture out easily. However, Ai Yue’s actions served as a reminder to those who were bolder, and they began to find ways to go out and search for supplies.

Ai Yue was completely unaware of any of this.

As she neared her destination, a tree as thick as a man’s embrace was uprooted and lay across the middle of the road, blocking the assault boat. Seeing this, Ai Yue thought about storing the assault boat in her space and swimming through the water.

She looked around to observe the surroundings. This was a commercial street, which logically should be empty, but she couldn’t rule out the possibility of people being trapped there. She didn’t dare take the risk; if someone saw her assault boat vanish into thin air, they would definitely suspect she had a storage space. After all, after years of being influenced by web novels, no one was a fool who would believe they had simply seen wrong.

Ai Yue turned the boat around and chose to take a detour.

After spending an extra half hour, Ai Yue finally reached her destination. She broke the glass without hesitation, tied the assault boat to the window frame, and jumped inside nimbly.

This gold shop had two floors: the first floor sold gold, and the second floor sold jade ornaments.

Ai Yue first swept the second floor clean. She found a fire hydrant in the corner and felt that the large axe inside was quite to her liking. She smashed the glass, took out the fire axe, weighed it in her hand, swung it twice, and nodded, feeling it was more comfortable to use than a Baseball Bat.

She changed into her diving suit, jumped into the water, and swam all the way down.

Reaching the first floor, Ai Yue stored the display case closest to her into her space. Just as she was about to continue, she paused as if thinking of something, then took the display case back out and placed it in its original spot. She took the fire axe from her space and smashed the glass with one blow... An hour had passed by the time Ai Yue emerged from the water. She took out the display cases she had just collected from the second floor, smashed the glass, and only took the gold and jade ornaments.

Ai Yue didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at her own bizarre behavior. If she took all the display cases, what if someone came later, noticed the anomaly, and she was exposed?

Ai Yue felt she needed to eat more walnuts to boost her brainpower.

After finishing her collection at this gold shop, Ai Yue rushed to the next one. On the way, she noticed people struggling to row rubber dinghies in the torrential rain.

There was even someone out in a bathtub, spinning in circles in the water without moving forward an inch. Hearing the sound of a motor, he turned and saw Ai Yue approaching in the assault boat. He shouted and screamed excitedly, asking Ai Yue to give him a lift.

Ai Yue ignored him and drove straight past. Seeing that Ai Yue paid him no mind, the man stood up in the bathtub and began to curse loudly. Unexpectedly, he lost his balance and fell into the water with a splash, spinning around as he was swept away.

Ai Yue watched this scene with no emotion. She had seen too much of the world’s wickedness; in this life, she trusted no one except her parents.

Ai Yue continued to her next destination in the assault boat.

After sweeping two more gold shops, the sky grew dark, and Ai Yue decided to return tomorrow.

At night, there wasn’t a sliver of light; the darkness was absolute. Coming out to search for supplies at night was practically asking for an early grave.

Before the last trace of light vanished, Ai Yue finally returned home.

Ai Guosheng and his wife had been standing at the door the whole time, and only when they saw Ai Yue’s figure did they finally feel at ease.

Returning to her room, Ai Yue couldn’t wait to enter her space and observe its changes.

The space hadn’t grown larger, but the mini house had. After devouring a large amount of gold and jade, it had finally upgraded and become the size of a normal house.

Ai Yue pushed the door open and entered, only to find it was empty—a rough-cast house with two bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom. It was a true shell of a house, with no plaster on the walls or tiles on the floor.

However, Ai Yue was already very satisfied. After all, it could be upgraded, and no one could predict what it would eventually become.

Ai Yue emerged from the space with a look of satisfaction. She tried to see if she could bring her parents inside, but found she still couldn’t. However, she wasn’t in a hurry; she was full of confidence in this mysterious space and believed it wouldn’t let her down in the future.

The next day, as the sky began to brighten, Ai Yue drove the hummer down the mountain. While passing Villa No. 5, a glamorous woman jumped and waved at her, signaling for her to come over and take her along to search for supplies.

Ai Yue’s expression froze. Hadn’t the owners of Villa No. 5 been slaughtered during the Extreme Heat? Who was this woman? Why was she here?

Something was definitely fishy. Although they were from the same residential area, Ai Yue wasn’t one for misplaced kindness. She ignored the woman waving frantically at her and accelerated out of the complex.

Watching the car drive away, Jiang Tao angrily wiped the rain from her face and turned back into the house, grumbling.

At that moment, a refined middle-aged man stepped out from behind the door and asked, ”Did you see clearly? Was it a man or a woman? Which villa did they come from? What did they say?”

”What do you mean, ’what did they say’? They didn’t even open their mouth, and the car didn’t even stop. How could I tell if it was a man or a woman?” Jiang Tao walked to the side with her swaying waist and sat down unhappily.

Then, she looked at the middle-aged man with disdain, rolled her eyes, and said, ”Look at your pathetic self. You said you’d take me to live in a big villa, eat delicacies, and live the good life. Hmph, I actually thought you had finally made something of yourself! I didn’t expect you to bring me to this place to eat white rice every day. There isn’t even a piece of meat—you call this the good life?”

”Li Luo, I’m talking to you! Why aren’t you saying anything? Are you deaf?” Jiang Tao became even more furious seeing Li Luo’s silent demeanor and shouted while slamming the table.

Only then did Li Luo look up, smiling slightly to reveal a pair of dimples. ”Ah Tao, don’t be angry, it’s all my fault! Don’t worry, once the rain stops, I’ll find some meat.”

Li Luo stepped forward and pulled Jiang Tao into his arms. He rested his head on her shoulder and gently patted her back, coaxing her tenderly. However, his expression changed; the corners of his mouth curled slightly, and his eyes narrowed, revealing a sinister glint.

Hearing Li Luo’s voice and seeing his handsome face, Jiang Lu remembered his good points and was no longer angry, letting Li Luo hold her in his arms.

Ai Yue continued to sweep gold shops in her assault boat. Having gained experience, her speed increased significantly. In half a day, she had not only cleared out the gold shops but also made a trip to the Antique Street, reaping a significant harvest.

Seeing it was still early, Ai Yue drove the assault boat to a three-story wholesale warehouse.

There were many residential buildings nearby, so Ai Yue didn’t dare be careless. She stored the assault boat in a hidden spot and switched to a rubber dinghy. She had plenty of rubber dinghies and wouldn’t feel bad if she lost one.

As usual, she smashed the glass, tied the rubber dinghy to the window frame, and jumped into the wholesale warehouse.

The first floor was flooded, so she didn’t consider it.
