Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying

Chapter 1046: Chapter 133: V.G.

”Splash!”

Water splashed everywhere as Black Dog leaped up, shooting out of the underground garage like a cannonball.

The sound of the rain instantly multiplied several times over, pelting down with a patter, leaving only a chaotic gray and white in view!

It was as if this wasn’t rain, but a heavenly lake pouring down!

The woman bent her back, shielding the child in her arms from the rain, and barely opened her eyes to look around.

The street had turned into a murky yellow river, thick trees toppled by the roadside, and garbage bins floated forward with the water.

The power system had completely collapsed, no streetlights, no shops still open, only the incessant pounding of torrential rain on the buildings, creating an urgent apocalyptic resonance.

After rushing out, the woman realized that the water on the road almost reached her calves, the swirling torrent making a gurgling sound as the drains greedily devoured the accumulated water.

But in some places, the drainage system was overwhelmed, underground water gushing back up, and the former manhole covers spewed sewage wildly.

The woman couldn’t help but shiver.

If someone accidentally stepped on one, they could fall in instantly, couldn’t they?

She hugged the child tightly while instinctively sticking close to the speeding Black Dog.

She originally thought leaving the underground garage would mean returning to a warm home, but in reality, she couldn’t even find a safe resting place.

At this moment, this strange and exceptionally nimble creature had become their sole safe haven.

Suddenly, the woman noticed that the sensation beneath her felt odd.

Black Dog’s soft fur was as sleek as silk, but the skin beneath lacked warmth, and she couldn’t feel the tight and elastic muscles.

On the contrary, its body had a kind of hardness, like sitting on a carousel at an amusement park.

When Black Dog was running, or rather, swimming, its back had no noticeable undulation, the muscles lacked the rhythm of alternating contraction and expansion, and even the spine didn’t have the up-and-down dolphin-like movement.

The woman’s palms slowly retracted, her fingers tightly curling into her palms, her entire body stiff, only her fingers trembled slightly, beyond her control.

”Whoosh, whoosh...”

Black Dog carried the two forward with all its might, suddenly, it was as if they had passed through an invisible membrane, the surrounding sound and pressure abruptly changed!

The rain suddenly lessened, and the torrential waterfall that just moments ago made it impossible to open eyes turned into what could almost be called a comfortable moderate rain.

The woman opened her eyes suddenly, incredulously turning back.

Just a few meters behind them, dense lines of rain formed a white curtain, blurring everything into shadows of chaos, as if an endless river from the high heavens pressed down vertically!

This was an exceptionally clear, distinctly bounded extreme rain band!

She was utterly stunned by this miraculous scene, staring dumbfoundedly at the rain wall.

If not for the extraordinarily vivid cold and pain felt by her body, she would really think she had fallen into a bizarre dreamland.

Just at this moment, the woman felt her body tilt—

Black Dog bucked its legs, and before the woman could react, she slid off its back with the child in her arms.

She stood on a stone step, next to a budget hotel, the warmth and dryness from inside at this moment seemed infinitely inviting.

But the woman didn’t enter immediately; seeing Black Dog about to leave, she hurriedly called, ”Wait!”

Black Dog turned its head, looking at her quietly as before.

The woman clenched her palm, mustering up the courage to say, ”Um... thank you... for saving us!”

Her voice trembled with nerves, ”Also... also... are you... I mean... what should I call you?”

Black Dog tilted its head, seeming to ponder.

Moments later, it approached the woman, lifting a front paw and flipping it over.

The woman stared blankly, lowered her head to look, and found a strange symbol in Black Dog’s palm—

”9... triangle? Is this a brand logo? Your number? No, no, that’s not right...”

She suddenly realized the symbol should be read upside down.

”V.G.?”

Black Dog lowered its front paw, as if indicating she got it right.

The woman cautiously asked, ”Is this your owner’s name? Or... is this you?”

Black Dog bent its eyes as if laughing.

The woman thought she misread, couldn’t help rubbing her eyes, and when she opened them again, she found that Black Dog hadn’t answered her question, instead quietly turning around and merging back into the torrent of rain.

This time, no matter what calls came from behind, it didn’t look back.

”Mommy—”

The child nestled in the woman’s arms looked up, his attention diverted by Black Dog, unknowingly forgetting the previous fright.

The child softly asked, ”Did Doggie go to save more people? Is it a superhero?”

The woman looked at the rain curtain, holding the child tighter, her palm still seemingly feeling that strange sensation.

She closed her eyes, then softly yet firmly said:

”Yes, darling... it is our superhero.”

”I knew it!” The child clapped his hands, happily saying, ”Just like Spider-Man... it’s Dog-Man!”

At this time, the hotel door behind them creaked open, and a flashlight beam swept over.

”What’s going on? I thought I heard...”

The hotel manager’s words were interrupted as the light shone on the drenched mother and child.

”Oh my! Ma’am, what happened to you... Quick! Come in! Joseph, get me a blanket!”

He exclaimed, without pausing for questions, hurriedly ushering the shivering duo into the warm and dry hotel lobby.

...

While the young mother and her child found refuge this night, many others were still enduring hardships in the storm.

”Aah——!!!”

In the depth of the night, a luxurious building like a crystal palace resounded with a piercing scream, waking everyone from their slumber.

”What happened? What’s going on?”

The owners, dressed in silk pajamas, hurriedly switched on a flashlight and ran to their daughter’s room, anxiously asking.

”Snails!” The girl jumped to the door, pointing at her window, ”So many snails, so gross!”

The light shone over, and the couple also exclaimed.

Snails were seen all over the windowsill, walls, floorboards, even the ceiling, where did they crawl in from?

”Don’t be afraid! It must be because of the rain outside.” The man frowned calmly, ”I’ll call the butler to get rid of these snails!”

But just as he stepped out of the room, the next moment he couldn’t help but scream!

Beyond the bedroom, the floor was covered in dark insects!

Not only snails but beetles, cockroaches, ants, spiders, and centipedes too!

These bugs were rarely seen usually, but now they seemed to be holding a gathering at his house!
