4659 Hong Dong Chuan, the Prison Crushing Saber

At this point in time, Duan Ling Tian’s knowledge about the Divine Land was only limited to the Surging River Divine Kingdom and its surrounding areas. The Distinct Province was a relatively remote province in the Surging River Divine Kingdom. It had been many years since there was a Dao powerhouse above the seventh level in the Distinct Province, and Duan Ling Tian was the first to emerge after such a long time.

On the contrary, some cities near the Divine Kingdom’s capital, which was in the River Province, boasted more than one Dao powerhouse above the seventh level. Some even had several Dao powerhouses above the seventh level. Needless to say, any forces in the capital of the Divine Kingdom had their fair share of Dao powerhouses above the seventh level.

Rumors had it that the patron of the Divine Kingdom, the Great Revered Elder of the royal family, was a level-nine Dao powerhouse. Needless to say as the capital of the Divine Kingdom, it was very prosperous

However, the capital of the Surging River Divine Kingdom did not hold any special appeal for Duan Ling Tian and his two wives. After all, in the Outer Boundary alone, there were many cities just as prosperous as the capital of the Surging River Divine Kingdom. It was not surprising that they were not particularly impressed.

“Ke’er, Huan’er, let’s find an inn to stay in first. I’ll go out after that to deal with some matters,” Duan Ling Tian said.

The two women nodded, expressing their understanding. With their current strength, it was best for them to stay in the inn for their safety and cultivate since they would not be of much help to him. With the abundance of cultivation resources and Duan Ling Tian’s profound knowledge of the Sword Dao, their cultivation was relatively smooth.

After they settled down, Duan Ling Tian asked for directions and made his way to a big mansion in the capital. When he arrived, he looked at the plaque above the entrance that had the two words, Hong clan. Then, he said to the gatekeepers, “I’m Duan Ling Tian from the Distinct Province’s Duan Residence. I came here to Hong Residence today to challenge Hong Dong Chuan, your strongest powerhouse. Please convey my intention to him…”

Hong Dong Chuan was a renowned figure in the Surging River Divine Kingdom and its capital. He was at the eighth Dao Establishment stage. Apart from that, the Hong clan also had close ties to the royal family, which further elevated Hong Dong Chuan’s status.

The gatekeepers’ eyes widened slightly upon hearing Duan Ling Tian’s words. They did not think Duan Ling Tian was joking. Ordinary people would not dare to joke about this matter. It could lead to their deaths after all. For this reason, they did not dare to delay and quickly sent a servant to inform Hong Wu Zhi, the current Clan Leader of the Hong clan, about this matter.

Hong Wu Zhi was also shocked when he heard about this matter. He muttered to himself, “Duan Ling Tian from the Divine Province? It seems like he’s the God Defying Sword…”

Although Duan Ling Tian’s name had not spread through the entire Surging River Divine Kingdom yet, as the Clan Leader of the Hong clan, Hong Wu Zhi knew a thing or two about rising powerhouses in the Surging River Divine Kingdom compared to ordinary people. As such, it was only natural that he had heard of Duan Ling Tian.

Apart from Duan Ling Tian, Hong Wu Zhi also heard of another rising star in another province of the Surging River Divine Kingdom. His name was Zhao An Yi, the Azure Cloud Elder and he was a seventh Dao Establishment powerhouse.

With this in mind, Hong Wu Zhi began to speculate.

“Duan Ling Tian and Zhao An Yi, the Azure Cloud Elder, seem to be acquainted with each other. Not only that, but they both suddenly appeared out of thin air.”

“I heard that the cultivation ground of the new master of the Life Creation Chart was found recently. Several Dao Establishment powerhouses joined forces and severely injured him and also caused significant damage to the world created by the Life Creation Chart. I wonder if these two people came from that world?”

Then, a hint of unease flashed in Hong Wu Zhi’s eyes as he thought of something. He muttered, “Since Duan Ling Tian dares to come to our Hong Residence to challenge our ancestor, I’m afraid he’s not a level-seven Dao Establishment cultivator like the rumors said he is. He’s likely a level-eight Dao Establishment cultivator.”

…

When Hong Wu Zhi and a few of his servants arrived at the entrance, he saw Duan Ling Tian immediately.

“Sir, are you Duan Ling Tian, the God Defying Sword? The strongest person in the Distinct Province?” Hong Wu Zhi asked politely. Although he was the Clan Leader of the Hong clan, he was just a level-six Dao Establishment cultivator. He naturally did not dare to be disrespectful or presumptuous when faced with the purple-clad young man in front of him.

“I’m Hong Wu Zhi, the Clan Leader of the Hong clan. I heard you came to challenge our ancestor?” Hong Wu Zhi asked politely.

“Yes,” Duan Ling Tian said with a nod, “I want to test the strength of your Hong clan’s ancestor. If I defeat him, I hope you’ll help me to challenge the level-nine Dao Establishment powerhouse in the royal court.”

Hong Wu Zhi was shocked when he heard that Duan Ling Tian wanted to challenge the level-nine Dao Establishment powerhouse from the royal court of the Surging River Divine Kingdom, who was known as the patron of the Surging River Divine Kingdom. He could not help but wonder if Duan Ling Tian was really capable or if Duan Ling Tian was just arrogant after becoming the strongest person in the Distinct Province.

Hong Wu Zhi took a deep breath to calm down before he said, “Sir, I’ll bring you to the ancestor. It’s up to him to accept your challenge or not. I have no say in this matter.”

At the same time, all kinds of thoughts raced through Hong Wu Zhi’s mind.

It was said that the new master of the Life Creation Chart failed to completely control the chart just like its former master. Once someone reached the seventh Dao Establishment stage in the world created by the chart, it would be very difficult to conceal the existence of the chart. Once the existence of the Life Creation Chart was exposed, the master of the chart would be hunted down. After all, the new master of the chart had stolen the Life Creation Chart, hoping to imitate the former owner’s action of cultivating the forbidden Sacrificial Dao.

As such, Hong Wu Zhi felt rather incredulous that the new master of the Life Creation Chart actually allowed the beings in the world created by the chart to reach the seventh Dao Establishment stage. This was tantamount to seeking death.

‘No wonder he was discovered and almost killed…’

Meanwhile, Duan Ling Tian nodded and said, “Very well…”

Hong Wu Zhi led Duan Ling Tian to a secluded courtyard in the depths of the Hong Residence to meet Hong Dong Chuan, the ancestor of the Hong clan who was a formidable level-eight Dao Establishment powerhouse. He was also known as the Prison Crushing Saber. Obviously, he comprehended the Saber Dao.

Although Hong Dong Chuan was the ancestor of the Hong clan, his appearance was that of a handsome young man. He looked to be about Duan Ling Tian’s age. When he learned about Duan Ling Tian’s identity and the purpose of Duan Ling Tian’s visit, battle intent flashed in his eyes immediately.

“I’ve heard of the Distinct Province’s God Defying Sword. An old friend of mine previously mentioned that someone with a vaguely similar title to mine, the Prison Crushing Saber, had appeared. Since you dare to challenge me, I assume you’ve also reached the eighth Dao Establishment stage, right?”
