4337 The Soul Imprisonment Clan

Bang!

A spatial tear appeared, and Yun Xin Feng was quickly pulled into the turbulent space just as the middle-aged man, who was a supreme powerhouse, arrived. Before he left, he glanced at Ke’er who had fainted in Xia Yu’s arms.

‘He’s a member of the Blood Specter World’s Soul Imprisonment Clan!’ Xia Yu’s expression changed as this thought appeared in his mind. At the same time, he quickly used his Divine Consciousness to check on Ke’er only to discover that her soul had been restrained by an unknown energy. Just as he was about to remove the unknown energy…

“Don’t touch that restraining energy!” the middle-aged yelled, “The backlash will hurt her and even possibly destroy her soul! I’ll go after him! The only way to remove the restraint now is to kill him or have another member of the Soul Imprisonment Clan remove it.”

!! Xia Yu’s face turned ashen upon hearing the middle-aged man’s words.

Meanwhile, the middle-aged man entered the spatial tear before it closed as soon as his voice fell.

Xia Yu looked at Ke’er, who was lying motionlessly in his arms, guiltily. If he did not bring her out from the divine artifact, this would not have happened.

At this time, Xia Jie’s voice rang from the divine artifact in Xia Yu’s hands.

“Let me out!”

Xia Yu did not even think about it as he released Xia Jie from the divine artifact.

Xia Jie’s expression was unsightly as he looked at the unconscious Ke’er. “H-how’s this possible…”

Meanwhile, the members of the Xia clan were silent. Those who pleaded with Xia Yu to hand Ke’er over to Yun Xin Feng felt so guilty that they were unable to raise their heads. Although there they did not know what happened exactly, it was not hard to figure out that the matter was much worse than they had imagined. They also realized the gravity of the situation when they heard the middle-aged man say that not much could be done about the restraint placed on Ke’er.

“Yun Qing Yan…”

Xia Yu’s expression was extremely dark as he sent a Voice Transmission to Yun Ting Feng.

…

“Yan’er?”

When Yun Ting Feng received Xia Yu’s Voice Transmission, he did not waste time and quickly went to the Xia clan. He was perplexed. He could not figure out how his son, who became a Supreme God with much difficulty, became a supreme powerhouse now. He was also anxious to find out why his son’s Soul Pearl was covered in hairline cracks.

…

In the turbulent space.

The middle-aged man failed despite trying his best to catch up with Yun Xin Feng. After all, he had a late start because he stayed back to warn Xia Yu.

‘He’s quite strong so why is he afraid to face me? Did he alert the Xia clan’s supreme powerhouse earlier?’

It did not take long for the middle-aged man to figure out why Yun Xin Feng did not stay to confront him. After all, it would be almost impossible for Yun Xin Feng to escape once the Xia clan’s supreme powerhouse and his friends arrived.

‘He’s very decisive…’ the middle-aged man thought to himself as he shook his head. Then, he raised his hand and tore an opening in the space to return to the Divine Offering Land.

…

Before the middle-aged man arrived at the Xia clan, Yun Ting Feng had already arrived.

Yun Ting Feng was shocked when he saw the Xia clan’s estate, which had existed for hundreds of thousands of years, had been reduced to rubbles.

Yun Ting Feng asked Xia Yu anxiously, “What happened? Where’s Yan’er?”

Xia Yu scoffed and said with a dark expression, “Yun Ting Feng, you really raised a good-for-nothing son!”

Initially, Xia Yu thought that Yun Ting Feng was the culprit behind the matter. However, after thinking about it, he knew it was impossible for Yun Ting Feng to transform Yun Qing Yan into a supreme powerhouse. He confirmed his speculation completely when he heard the middle-aged man say that Yun Xin Feng was a native of the Blood Specter World.

“Xia Yu, what nonsense are you spouting? I don’t understand what you’re saying! Where’s my son? You said he’s now a supreme powerhouse? What happened?” Yun Ting Feng asked, growing more and more anxious. He brought out his son’s Soul Pearl before he continued to say, “This is his Soul Pearl. This is the first time I’ve seen a Soul Pearl in such a state. Tell me! What happened to him?”

After seeing the ruins that were the Xia clan’s estate, Yun Ting Feng did not doubt Xia Yu’s words.

At this time, the middle-aged man appeared and said in a loud voice, “I’ll tell you what happened!”

“Senior!” Xia Jie asked anxiously, “Did you manage to capture him?”

Despite the ominous feeling in his heart when he saw the middle-aged man returning alone, Xia Jie still could not help but ask this question.

“I didn’t,” the middle-aged man replied as he shook his head.

At the same time, Yun Ting Feng’s expression turned solemn when he saw the middle-aged man. He had sensed the middle-aged man’s domineering aura so he knew that the middle-aged man was a supreme powerhouse comparable to the Yun clan’s supreme powerhouse.

“That…” Xia Jie was at a loss for words upon hearing the middle-aged man’s words.

At the same time, Xia Yu’s expression had already turned grim. The weight of his daughter in his arms seemed to grow heavier at this time. It was as though she had grown heavier by a thousand tonnes.

While Xia Yu was overwhelmed by guilt, the middle-aged man asked Yun Ting Feng, “You’re the Clan Leader of the Divine Offering Land’s Yun clan? Yun Qing Yan is your son?”

“Yes, senior,” Yun Ting Feng quickly replied. Although he did not know the identity of the middle-aged man, he did not dare to be disrespectful to a supreme powerhouse.

The middle-aged man said, “If I’m not mistaken, your son must have removed the seal on a supreme powerhouse from the Blood Specter World’s Soul Imprisonment Clan. In the past, a few of my predecessors had faced the supreme powerhouses from the Soul Imprisonment Clan. My predecessors couldn’t destroy their souls so they sealed them to let time erode their souls. The members of the Soul Imprisonment Clan are skilled in soul techniques. Even if they die, they have ways to preserve their souls. It’s not difficult for supreme powerhouses to destroy the souls of Supreme Gods from the clan, but it’s difficult to destroy the souls of the supreme powerhouses from the clan. The only way to kill them is to let time erode their souls. As time depletes their energy and erodes their souls, they’ll eventually die.”

The middle-aged man continued to say, “If I’m not mistaken, your son must have stumbled upon a Heavenly Jewel which sealed a supreme powerhouse from the Soul Imprisonment Clan. Your son must have removed the seal. They must have a made deal beforehand, and your son must have agreed to merge with the other party’s remnant soul. This is a common way for members of the Soul Imprisonment Clan to resurrect.”

“Members of the Soul Imprisonment Clan are asexual. They look like men, but their voices are feminine. Moreover, they don’t have male reproductive organs. In other words, they have no desire, and their only goal is to become stronger and achieve immortality.”

The members of the Xia clan and Yun Ting Feng gained a better understanding of the Blood Specter World’s Soul Imprisonment Clan after listening to the middle-aged man.

At this time, Xia Yu could not help but ask, “Senior, what’s going to happen to my daughter? Is there really no other way to break the restraint?”

Although Ke’er was physically fine, Xia Yu could sense that her soul was getting weaker and weaker. Perhaps, she would be unharmed for now, but if they could not find a way to break the restraint, her soul would eventually be destroyed, resulting in death.

“There’s no other way,” the middle-aged man shook his head and said with a sigh, “I was too late… How am I going to explain this to that boy…”

Upon hearing these words, Xia Yu, Xia Jie, and Yun Ting Feng instantly knew that the middle-aged man was referring to Duan Ling Tian, Ke’er’s husband, when he said ‘that boy’.
