Emperor’s Domination

“Not a natural disaster but a manmade one. Who?” Li Qiye sighed.

Words stuck in her mouth as she thought about answering.

“Luminous Master.” Orchid Sage said softly: “He did it himself.”

“Yes.” Li Qiye was not surprised, the same couldn’t be said if anyone else were here to listen.

Luminous Master and Creek King had everyone’s envy for being the perfect couple. They thought Supreme Heaven was the culprit behind this - the only power strong enough to erase Luminous Creek in one night without anyone finding out.

The remnant information also pointed suspicion toward Supreme Heaven. Creek King trembled since this traumatic past haunted her every second.

However, Orchid Sage held her hands tightly, warming her heart. She calmed down since their memories and struggles together were stronger.

“Luminous created an ultimate art back then.” She said.

“Luminous Origination.” Li Qiye remembered since he had praised it before.

“You still remember, Sacred Teacher. Yes, creating this art took everything he had.” She said.

When this light touched the opponent, it burned their desires and ambitions. No cultivator was free from these emotions.

A common cultivator craved more power while a true master desired everlasting life. This made the technique rather potent, Luminous Master’s masterpiece.

“He wanted to surpass the limit.” She continued: “When we founded Luminous Creek, he established a spring around the dao source.”

“A spring of desires.” Li Qiye understood.

She was surprised at first but then again, nothing could hide from this man.

“Right, he used his Luminous Origination as the basis to purify disciples’ unnecessary emotions and desires. The goal was to strengthen the dao heart.” She elaborated.

“That’s not a bad idea.” Li Qiye said: “But sometimes, people overestimate themselves and think they’re world saviors to herald the light.”

“Yes, Sacred Teacher.” She sighed: “It worked at the start. Disciples focused on cultivation and the dao heart so the sect grew stronger.”

“The disaster came with overconfidence, unaware that darkness grew within the light.” Li Qiye said.

“Darkness within the light, perhaps this was it.” She admitted: “With the success of the spring, Luminous had a bolder idea, throwing his desires into the spring. I told him that we were strong enough and it was time to destroy the spring but he wanted to break the limit.”

“Luminous Origination was meant to burn the enemies’ desires but he wanted to feed his own to it.” Li Qiye smiled.

“Since it was hi dao, he thought he could control it and the spring. In the worst-case scenario, he said he would destroy it.” She said: “For a long time, it was under control and the dao source became increasingly stronger.”

“The abyss gazes back and his desires were exposed. Anyone could grasp them then.” Li Qiye commented.

“The spring started to change, becoming stronger and more profound. Luminous became obsessed with its mysteries and planned to infuse it with his grand dao.” She went on.

“He didn’t expect his desires to change and swallow him.” Li Qiye said.

“I didn’t agree because the spring consumed countless desires from our disciples and members. The connection was unimaginably complex, not to mention this pertained to our survival.” She paused for a moment and said: “As they became stronger, so did the dao source and the spring. Alas, he believed this was the way to break the limit and the extinguishment, culminating in his ascension to the supreme overlord realm.”

“He didn’t listen.” Li Qiye said.

“Yes, he infused the mysteries of the spring into his grand dao.” She nodded.

“This is desire.” Li Qiye said: “Was it his desire or someone else’s?”
