In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]

Rise stared at the closed elevator for a few minutes before he finally decided to enter his room. A gentle smile then flashed across his lips, touching it as he thought of how wonderful the day had been.

”This progress isn’t bad... at all.” More than just not bad.

Taking a deep breath, Rise scrutinized the room, which was also his room in the past. Roaming his eyes around, he felt both familiar and unfamiliar.

It was clean and empty. His eyes landed on some parts where he put some of his furniture, which is currently empty. A look of nostalgia slowly seeped into his eyes, and he walked to his bedroom.

The bedroom was the same as the whole room, particularly empty and not resembling his room. Aside from the huge bed, there was a side cabinet and a closet. Other than that, there was nothing.

Of course, it was empty, as no one had used it before. Rise chuckled at his ridiculous thoughts. Still...

He took a step until he sat on the bed; it was also clean, without a slight peck of dust or wrinkle. Clearly, even if the rooms were unoccupied, the guild had not neglected cleaning them.

Rise looked up and swept once again to his eyes to the room. He exhaled and smiled slightly, genuine without a usual tinge of menace.

”Guess... I’m really back,” he murmured, relief evident in his face.

After being lost in nostalgia for a while, Rise quickly recovered and decided to wash up. He also planned to unpack his things. His luggage was in a small space item, a handy and convenient storage, although it had limited space.

It was expensive and rare, but for Rise, he was not stingy on using the money he earned.

For the first few minutes, Rise busied himself with organizing his things. The room was far from the room in the past, and he planned to buy furniture, but for now, he just wanted to wash up.

Washing up for a few minutes, wearing his nightwear, Rise now had the time to sort out his thoughts. He had been occupied by Kamille’s presence, and he always cherished the moments of bewing with him, not letting his mind astray, which he often reserved when he was already alone.

He leaned on the headboard as he pondered.

Earlier, he actually felt shaken when he saw the compatibility between him and Kamille had changed from 97% to 100%. Rise’s mind had suddenly gone wild and was overthinking about a lot of things.

Now, that he was finally calmed, Rise could only scold himself for that time and laugh. He had to admit, that changes still scared him. Despite his confidence to change and grasp his destiny, in his subconscious, he was genuinely scared of the future that was waiting for him.

So, in a few situations, it would slip up and shake him. This was normal; Rise had only been back for a few days, after all, and the lingering memories were too fresh in his mind.

Thinking about it, it was indeed right that his return had a significant change in this timeline. And it was bound to have a change.

Rise did not know the reason for the changes of compatibility, but on the bright side, wasn’t it great that it was now increased and even surprisingly a hundred percent?

What he had to do was be wary of changes and act accordingly with them, but not be scared of them. Rise exhaled, resolved flickered on his eyes again.

So what if there were unpredictable changes? Rise would just have to pay attention to his goals, step by step.

Just as he had set his mind again, his phone rang. Rise immediately and frown. There was not a lot who would contact him nor a lot who dared to. The phone was almost just a formality and accessory in his hand.

However, he thought of something, and his interest rose. If he remembered it right, there was someone he did reach out to a few days ago.

Rise reached out to take his phone out of the bedside cabinet. He looked at it; his eyes glinted. Sure enough, the one he was waiting for.

At the same time, he also could not help but feel tense, and his emotions got chaotic. His hand gripped the phone, taking a few deep breaths.

This was also one of the most important parts of his plan. And unlike Kamille, this was a person he could not wait to get rid of.

Epsilon. The main character of the damned novel.

A few days ago, before he set off to the red zone and met Kamille, he contacted someone he knew in the Union, which was to investigate someone named Epsilon.

Truthfully, he did not expect to get a reply so quickly.

Composing himself, Rise opened the message. His eyes went past the usual respectful but fearful greeting. He only focused on that one sentence in the message; his pupils shrank and his mouth subconsciously parted.

[No one named Epsilon in the registered Espers.]

These sentences rang in his mind, as he read them over and over again.

”How is that possible?” Rise blurted out in surprise. He could not believe it.

Unless Epsilon had not registered as an Esper during this time, which was also a logical explanation why his name was not on the list. However, Rise frowned, unable to really accept this reason.

After so long, now the method to determine whether someone awakened as an Esper had become an advance. Unlike with Guides who had unpredictable patterns and needed to actually guide someone, Espers were different and simple.

After a certain age, it was required for everyone to test their wavelengths and determine if they had been awakened as an Esper. The government, which was specifically the Union, held the responsibility and authority for it.

This had been a practice for years in the federation. For a special case like Rise, who had shown signs of being awakened when he was only 7 years old, they would only need to test their rank.

Not to mention Epsilon; his ability was special, and even more, he was the protagonist! There should be a record about Epsilon, whenever zone he was in, the Union would have a record of his awakened test.

A dark gloom slowly shrouded him; this mystery suddenly dawned on him, making him visibly tense. Anything about Epsilon made his blood boil; even more so, he felt an incredible dread.

As his mortal enemy, Epsilon held a great advantage against him, a villain.
