Genshin Impact: Spoiling the Future

These stories were told back and forth a dozen or twenty times—Dehya as a little child had grown tired of hearing them, but her father never did.

Not only did he not tire of them, he would even get troupe members to perform them—looking like a somewhat childish person.

Seeing Dehya’s description, everyone’s brows furrowed more and more—this was truly a father who didn’t do proper things.

But some also felt a hint of incongruity—how could a lecherous, irresponsible, and idle childish father honestly raise Dehya all by himself?

And Dehya’s values are very upright—if not protected well in childhood, how could she be so sunny and cheerful?

From the start of Sumeru’s stories, Dehya has been giving warmth to others—such a personality is mostly related to childhood experiences, right?

This way, the image of Kusayla that Dehya described felt just a tiny bit off.

This tiny bit of incongruity was caught by Rosaria—she felt she might have some similarities with Dehya; this was just intuition.

In fact, Rosaria’s childhood was indeed somewhat similar to Dehya’s, but her foster father didn’t overprotect her like Kusayla did.

So even though both grew up in not-so-glorious troupes, their personalities differed.

Rosaria prefers solving problems in the shadows, being a ”lonely” person.

Dehya prefers speaking directly with her fists, being someone who warms others.

But the current Dehya still has a big misunderstanding about Kusayla—she doesn’t particularly like this father of hers.

No ambition, childish, lecherous—such a father is indeed hard to love.

As a child, Dehya felt this way—she didn’t like her father, but couldn’t say she hated him.

But after growing up and learning more about her father’s deeds, he was a bandit.

[Dehya said: ”Plundering, threatening, violence, fraud—these evil acts are actually boasted about in the organization.”]

[”He, and the people in the troupe, aren’t heroes at all—they’re the villains that should be defeated in stories.”]

In her heart, Dehya actually loved her father, even if he was a bit improper.

Precisely because of this, after learning these things, Dehya started avoiding contact with her father—she didn’t want to hate her father, but if she contacted him, she’d remember these things.

So Dehya chose to leave and never went back.

It shows that although Dehya always said those stories were childish on the surface, in her heart, those stories had a great influence.

In Dehya’s heart, there were ”heroes” and ”evil dragons”—before, she always thought her father and troupe members were heroes; only growing up did she realize they were the evil dragons.

From childhood, Kusayla had Dehya play the ”hero,” so this sense of justice also influenced Dehya.

When knowing the troupe she was in was evil, and her father was evil, one can imagine her psychological gap.

Now her father’s troupe was starting to do evil things again—Dehya must stop it, just like the hero in fairy tales.

The Traveler was willing to help, accompanying Dehya to Caravan Ribat for investigation.

Here, Dehya’s troupe members had already investigated some information—they shared this information with Dehya.

It was said that ”Dakan al-Ahmar”—that is, Kusayla’s troupe people—had set their attack target on ”Remnants of the God King.”

This was strange, because theoretically, they should be brother troupes.

The specific reason needed further investigation, but before investigating, Dehya and her troupe members chatted.

The main topic was the recent difficulty in recruiting new members—if not for Dehya personally acting as HR, they basically couldn’t recruit anyone; hoping Dehya could pull in more handsome guys and beautiful girls to the troupe.

Perhaps in his view, having handsome guys and beauties would make recruiting much easier.

But Hu Tao had a different opinion—isn’t she a beauty? Recruiting for the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor isn’t easy either.

Whether finding employees or clients, it’s not easy—is she not beautiful enough? Isn’t Zhongli handsome enough? Isn’t Lucian handsome enough? Clearly the problem isn’t here.

Back then, Tartaglia wanted to join the Treasure Hoarders and was rejected—wasn’t he handsome?

So this might not be a handsome guys and beauties problem, but a people problem.

Spot on—worthy of Hall Master Hu, seeing clearly, but she has no intention of changing.

Dehya thought the same—she had previously pulled in a few female mercenaries to add vitality to the troupe.

As a result, after those two girls came, this group of rough men all became obedient—not daring to say a word, shrinking in the corner silent like they had no mouths.

Originally, the girls were planning to join, but they were scared off alive.

Those who didn’t know might think the joining condition was removing vocal cords—really like that, it would only suit the Traveler joining.

What does this show? It shows that even mercenaries who lick blood on knife edges can’t withstand cold violence!

Dehya’s troupe members are like those Xiao Chunan online—bold trash-talking across the screen, but in person all proper and well-behaved, afraid of making others unhappy.

Online, dirty jokes come out easily; offline, touching a hand makes them tremble all over, turning red like a boiled crab.

Dehya’s troupe members reading the prophecy book now—their faces like boiled crabs.

Bro, just reading a book—can you stop monitoring my life? Stop playing with my Chunan brothers!

Even embarrassing stories from ”mixers” were exposed—this way the whole industry knows? How will we face female mercenaries from now on!?

Prophet, you’re too much! According to mercenary rules, I demand a duel with you!

But thinking about the prophet’s combat power, these people calmed down—got angry for a bit and let it go, better continue reading the story.

In the story, the Traveler and Dehya went to the desert together for investigation, capturing a merchant related to ”Dakan al-Ahmar” to interrogate.

Who knew this merchant had quite the integrity—preferring to bite his tongue to suicide rather than reveal any intelligence.

Fortunately, treated in time, the person was fine, but clues definitely couldn’t be asked out—had to investigate themselves.

In the cargo, intelligence was indeed found—records of material exchanges; the merchant helping them ”fence stolen goods” was named ”Shazaman Homayani.”

Yes, this person was precisely Dunyarzad’s father, the big merchant in the rainforest.

Dunyarzad shook her head, in disbelief—her father helping bad people do evil?

No, impossible—Dunyarzad didn’t believe her father would do such things; there must be a misunderstanding here!

At first reading this story, she was still thinking if there was room for reconciliation between Dehya and her father—unexpectedly, now it was her turn.

Character Voice Lines · Navia: About Dehya’s Father

”Childish... I don’t think so. A father willing to coax his child won’t be bad anywhere.”
