The joyous atmosphere in the group was enough for the others to forget about the awkwardness. Even if Lu Er and the disciples of his Sect weren’t close with Jin Shiyan and his Sect with the Bai Siblings as middlemen they were able to communicate with each other without any bias. Seeing these young disciples getting along well, Bai Wuan was relieved to leave these guys here and continue what he had planned to do. He wasn’t planning on joining them in their meals.

“Go inside now. I will leave when I see you’re all settled,” said Bai Wuan.

Everyone went inside the restaurant under Bai Wuan’s smile but as soon as they saw him all inside his smile faded. The elder who stayed to see him out also realized that something is wrong with the two.

Bai Wuan said, “Senior, there were a few Demonic Cultivators hiding in the city when we got here. They are obviously targeting the disciples of the sects. Please protect them until I come back.”

“What would the eldest young lord do?” asked the elder.

Bai Wuan’s eyes turned cold as his black hair turned white, “I will clean up the pests for a while. Scare them enough not to come in this city while I’m around.”

The elder bowed his head as he sent Bai Wuan and said, “Please be careful on your way.”

.....

Bai Wuan immediately disappeared after bringing his siblings to safety. The elder who sent him out had a slightly frightened expression. He had seen the sudden change of expression and change of demeanor of Bai Wuan with his own eyes. The pressure of his presence and aura was enough to overwhelm him.

“Sigh~ Now I feel pity for those demonic cultivators that dare to target the Ice Demon’s siblings. Don’t they know how overprotective that demon is toward his family? I think the air tonight would be bloody.”

The elder mumbled before going back inside the restaurant to help serve the guests.

—

On the mountain ranges, the hidden territory of the (Blue Fleeting Cloud Sect) Lan Zhuayun Sect.

The two princes were summoned by their Sect Master and Sect Elders. Obviously, they’re here for the mission which the Sect would give to them. Standing at the guidance hall, Yun Huaxia and Yun Xiajie appeared. Waiting for them are their seniors and family members. All of them were wearing white robes with cloud patterns, and the color of the clouds differed for each person, there are a few who have the same cloud color but this can only be done if they are the other half of the other party. There are various colors and shades of the cloud pattern that everyone possesses.

Yun Huaxia is wearing a blue cloud pattern robe which is the main color of the clan, this is because he is the next in line to the seat of the Sect Master and the eldest heir. He wore his usual gentle smile and was surrounded by a friendly atmosphere. He looks so approachable that everyone likes him.

On the other hand, standing beside him is the quiet Yun Xiajie. On his white robe, the crimson-colored clouds were so vibrant that it is hard to ignore. Not only he is quiet but his whole demeanor is cold with his face which is almost the embodiment of Asceticism, Others feel that it was rude to approach him without anything reasonable to ask. He looks like the symbol of righteousness. Untainted with any dirty, clean, and pure. Pure white would have matched his demeanor but for some reason, he had chosen the color of crimson right from the beginning.

The young disciples of the (Blue Fleeting Cloud Sect) Lan Zhuayun Sect can only wear a uniformed white robe with gray cloud patterns they are only able to choose another color of their cloud pattern when they’ve reached a certain level of strength and become a disciple with a strength of an elder.

Yun Huaxia and Yun Xiajie say, “Greetings to the Sect Master and Elders!”

Sect Master Yun said, “You’re here. I called you here to give you a mission. I want to have you two capture or kill all demonic cultivators that entered the city discreetly. The one who informed me about this news had started hunting those people. You two should support him.”

“Father, who was the informer? Is he trusting?” asked Yun Huaxia.

Great Elder Yun answered instead of the Sect Master.

“His background is trustworthy. I believe you should have heard about him. He is very famous. The Ice Demon of the (White Frozen Water Sect) Bai Lengshui Sect, Bai Wuan.”

As a pioneer of his generation, Yun Huaxia heard about this genius of the younger generation. Though he is from a different generation than him, his fame is quite widely spread in their cultivation world. On the other hand, Yun Xiajie who was usually in seclusion didn’t know about the man mentioned and stayed silent even though he was confused. It would be rude to get involved in the conversation between elders. He could only ask his elder brother about this man’s identity later.

Yun Huaxia said, “So it’s him. The Senior Brother of the (White Frozen Water Sect) Bai Lengshui Sect. I heard he is a few years younger than Jieye but his cultivation had already reached Peak Foundation Establishment or even Early Golden Core. If it’s the latter then he is more than just a genius but a monster. Even at my age I only had Early Golden Core. Lu Wang who is the eldest in our generation is at Mid Golden Core and he already represents his Sect at that age.”

“But Junior Brother Bai Wuan is different, no one knew his real strength. What I’ve mentioned before are just a few guesses I and Lu Wang had made. What do you think, Father?”

“I believe that your guess is right, Hua’er. I’ve received a personal letter from Sect Master Bai, he told me that Junior Bai Wuan is able to speak as an authority or representative of the whole (White Frozen Water Sect) Bai Lengshui Sect itself. He was indirectly telling me to treat him as the Sect Master Bai himself. That much says his strength,” said Sect Master Bai.

Great Elder Yun spoke, “The report about the demonic cultivators had been sent using his name. He even sent one alive person as proof. This child’s actions are so efficient that it is hard to deny his means. Don’t let our guests get ahead of things within our city. That is such an embarrassment! Immediately remove all intruders. There is no need to keep them alive.”

“We shall complete our task as it’s supposed to be!” said Yun Huaxia before exiting the hall with his younger brothers.

After the brothers had left, the Sect Master and the elders had a short conversation. They’ve noticed that Yun Xiajie doesn’t know about the Ice Demon. But even they had heard about the notorious rumors about this disciple. Possessing beauty beyond average means, as if an otherworldly being descending in the land of mortals. He is extremely beautiful enough to cause chaos in cities and is loved by everyone yet at the same time is the most merciless against his enemies. A unique beauty covered in the blood of his enemies, everyone called him the Ice Demon. A cold and attainable being whose cruelty is beyond normal means. That’s what he is called.

Great Elder Yun asked, “Though it is true that cruelty cannot be avoided in battles, I do not think Jieye would be able to accept whatever scene would welcome them. Despite his talent, Jieye is overwhelmingly righteous, unlike Huaye who had experienced a lot. I think this event would frighten him, Brother.”

“Hm. But Hua’er isn’t the one who would stand beside that child, they are from different generations. Ye’er had to get used to him sooner or later. Or they wouldn’t be able to fight along each other’s side when the time comes and the Xie Clan removes all pretense in the relationship of the other clans and sects. It would definitely happen soon,” said Sect Master Yun.

Great Elder Yun snorted angrily and said, “Their open tyranny had been happening more lately. They don’t want to save the face of our old sects!”

“Things wouldn’t remain the same. When the balance is broken there would only be a war to fight. We are actually at a disadvantage. Unless only of use Sect Masters or hidden hermits would reach the Nascent Soul Stage like the Clan Master of Xie Sect,” said Sect Master Yun.

—

Just a few hours after sundown. Bai Wuan had been roaming around the hidden alleys and forest of the West City chasing after a few groups of Demon cultivators, here and there.

Sounds of hurried escape can be heard all over the dark forest. There is a small group of demonic cultivators that bump into the Yun Brothers as soon as they investigate the dark alleys of the market.

The main road is booming with excitement and festivity. Everyone in the city, whether they are ordinary people or cultivators, is enjoying the peak of the night. Contrast to this joyous scene is a bloody and dangerous pursuit in the darkness.

“Run! Those two guys wearing white robes had pigmented clouds on them. They are definitely high-ranking disciples and might even be elders of the (Blue Fleeting Cloud Sect) Lan Zhuayun Sect.”

“Boss! I’ve recognized them. They are the twin clouds of the (Blue Fleeting Cloud Sect) Lan Zhuayun Sect. Yun Huaye and Yun Jieye. They are both at least peak Foundation Establishment Stage!”

“Tsk! How unlucky! Escape to the rendezvous spot. Once we rejoin the main group, we can use our numerical advantage and surround these two!”

“There hasn’t been any contact with the Main camp since the sun had set. Do you think something happened to them?”

“Don’t be such a crow’s beak! The Big Boss is at least Peak Foundation Establishment himself and the strongest demonic cultivator. It would be hard to kill him. Just shut your mouth and run! Don’t get caught now.”

“Yes!!!”

A few meters from the Yun Huaxia and Yun Jieye were closely chasing. The two of them can easily capture a small group of Foundation Establishment cultivators at the fourth to sixth stage. They’ve intentionally let them go and let them lead the way to their hideout.

Yun Huaxia spoke, “Hm~ these guys would definitely lead us to their den. The problem is it would be hard to fight if we got surrounded.”

“I will go ahead, brother. You stay out and I will give you a signal if their main force all showed itself,” said Yun Jieye.

Yun Huaxia nods his head in agreement with this plan. This is the only way since they lack people to fight against a group. They’ve decided to divide and conquer.

Since their plan is made, Yun Huaxia slows down while Yun Jieye dashed in to follow their targets. He followed them until they all reached the center of the forest.

He could even hear their delighted voices as they approached their den.

“Ah! We’re close! We can live!!!”

“Everyone get ready to counterattack!”

“Yes!!”

But as soon as they reached the center of the forest the temperature around them dropped. They could even their skin slowly getting covered in frost and their breath turning into a cloud of white smoke. They couldn’t help but hug themselves in this situation.

“W-W-Why is it’s-so-cold!?”

“I’m w-wearing s-s-sleeveless. I getting frozen~”

“What is happening here!?”

“B-B-B-Boss... L-Look behind you. Behind you!!!”

Everyone turned around to look at their secret den, even Yun Jieye who usually controls his expression suddenly showed a dumbfounded expression.

Before them is a scenery of a beautiful winter and ruthlessness. There is a big pile of corpses covered in crimson-colored ice obviously this ice is made of frozen blood from the corpse itself. Standing above the small hill of the ice mountain is a gorgeous man wearing a blue robe with a wave pattern. Unfortunately, the edges of his robes were soaked in blood, even changing the white waves into scarlet-colored ones.

The sharp silver blade of his sword was leaning lightly on his shoulder and on its tip was blood trickling down fresh and warm but this beautiful person even colored by blood looked untainted. With the moon as his witness, the cruelty within that cold world made him look extremely captivating yet dangerous at the same time.

“What in hell—!!!”
