After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World

[Lord Detected. Lords can use the Healing Sanctuary for free once a day.]

[Healing has begun. Please leave within six hours or be evicted automatically.]

Althea nodded and entered under the eyes of many admirers. Well, technically, Althea had many admirers in general, but apparently, spending 5 gold just to take a look at a place added prestige to her name.

She looked around, studying each corner of the room. She had designed and modified the place so she had an idea what it would look like, but it was still a different feeling doing an actual walkthrough.

Like the Mercenary Hall, a level 1 Healing Sanctuary was only one floor. It had a decently high ceiling of more than 3 meters.

They were greeted with a foyer with a comfortable waiting area. Normally, this would be relatively plain (just a room and a bench), but her vain self added a few decorations and interior plants, as well as some mosaics.

Anyway, compared to the costs of making the actual buildings, the customization costs were nothing. Rather, she might regret being stingy when she’d pass by the building, which was not worth it for her.

Heading inside, there would be clay walls with paintings (also customized) and other patterns, and it would be like a maze of sorts, though each entrance would lead to a private area.

She chose a random one and took a turn, ending up in a room with a slab with bedding on it. In terms of size, it was a normal-sized room, but a third of the floor was elevated above the knee level, which ultimately served as the bed.

If she were to guess, the platform itself was a magic tool of sorts, directly connected to the building’s mechanism.

Each room had a different painting, some plants, and vines that added to the atmosphere.

She lay down as instructed and felt the warmth of aether envelop her body. It was truly relaxing, and she felt a bit sleepy, but her strong willpower kept her awake.

She saw a floating panel in front of her. It was a system panel in appearance, though the contents were not something she had seen before.

It was a model of her own body. She knew this because what it presented were her exact proportions.

It was just pale green in color. She blinked and took a blade from her space to wound her hand. She could see how that part of her hand, as presented on the screen, reddened in real time.

[Wound detected. Would you like to heal for 1 gold? Yes | No?]

”That’s... a bit expensive...” she muttered while lying there.

But Althea, who cared more about her curiosity than her wallet, clicked ’yes’ anyway.

Soon she felt the concentration of aether there, and it started healing on its own, and soon all was green again.

Then, she used her water ability to block the blood on her other hand. As her arm started to lose blood, the panel display showed it turning red instead.

[Blockage detected. Would you like to heal for 1 gold? Yes | No?]

”Yes.”

Soon, she felt the hold of her element loosen, and it recovered.

How interesting

And lastly, she used a water blade to see its effects on elemental damage. Everyone knew that elemental damage had higher penetration and would take longer to heal.

Slash!

A deep gash on her arms appeared, and a bigger and brighter red on her avatar appeared.

[Wound detected. Would you like to heal for 1 gold? Yes | No?]

Well, at least it wasn’t more expensive.

She also observed and counted. She was not surprised that the wound healed a bit longer than the other type of wound, but it was only by a minute or two.

She immediately called Shiela and Volohov and asked them to bring a couple of patients with certain cases, and the territory would sponsor their session.

/I’m coming there with the patients/ Shiela replied via the aether letter. /Sir Volohov, however.../

Interestingly, Volohov... was already inside, right in the next room, doing the same experiments on himself (though possibly more morbid).

Anyway, for the next six hours, the three of them watched the patients get healed there. It was not limited to those, though. They also got those with broken bones, someone who was still doing drug withdrawal treatments, and someone who was due for surgery (with their consent, of course).

Sadly, Eagle’s amputated arm was still not healed. It wasn’t something they expected, but a small part of them did hope for a miracle.

One of the things they noticed was that most people would just click on the red spot and it would heal, but this was where the problem would happen for issues like broken bones or displaced muscles.

Similar to when using healing potions prematurely, healing without setting it correctly could indeed cause problems. If it was not properly done, then the sanctuary would try to heal continuously and charge more and more as time passed by.

Whoever designed this was amazing, but detecting certain problems probably couldn’t be fixed with a few command arrays, and thus the current limitations.

If one didn’t know enough about medicine, then it could indeed be a bit too costly. Similarly, if one fell asleep, then the Sanctuary would simply do the basic healing, which was probably what made people think that it was the limitation of its abilities.

However, if one had knowledge about the body, then it was very good for the healing process. It was expensive, but if money wasn’t a problem, then it was fine.

That said, a few hours into their experiments, they also realized something else.

They could zoom in on the red and control the muscles and bones from there! It was almost like a game.

Heck, when they realized this, Volohov suddenly broke his own bones to try to out himself!

Crack!

Sheila screamed. ”DOCTOR!!!”

Althea’s lips twitched awkwardly. Well, he’s kind of crazy, but at least he’s passionate.

Then, she wondered: Were all her elders like this?
