Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Black Cloud Mountain, among the numerous peaks of Xiaoshan Prefecture, is naturally not considered high, and its name doesn’t come from dark clouds.

Instead, the soil of Black Cloud Mountain is notoriously dark.

Of course, this black soil not only doesn’t affect spiritual plants adversely but even enhances some rare spiritual plants.

When the Celestial Essence Sect was around, they planted Tier Two Black Cloud Tea on this spirit mountain.

Their goal was to elevate the spirit vein to Tier Three, to expand the tea garden, but unexpectedly, the Ye Clan reaped the benefits in the end.

Currently, Black Cloud Mountain has many structures, including the Assembly Hall, Martial Arts Arena, Treasure Tower, Mountain Ladder, and Mountain Viewing Pavilion, among other buildings.

However, they are not particularly luxurious.

At this moment, Ye Qingfeng was in the Martial Arts Arena, practicing various magic techniques.

Though it seemed to be an honor for him to guard Black Cloud Mountain, in truth, his mood wasn’t very good.

He arrived together with Ye Jinting, Ye Qingwen, and Ye Yunxi, but the others were all assigned tasks, leaving him alone on this spirit mountain.

And the reason was simple; he was the weakest among them.

He was understandably unwilling to accept this, but he was helpless. Ye Qingwen was now in the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment, nearing its peak, while Ye Jinting and Ye Yunxi, though in the same realm as him, had their advantages. One was a Spirit Talisman Master with endless talisman methods, and the other had a Celestial Spirit Root, proficient in various water attribute magic techniques, which he couldn’t contend with.

Moreover, as he knew, Ye Yunxi even had a Tier Three Great Demon for protection.

Thus, he could only practice day and night on Black Cloud Mountain.

Of course, he also looked forward to the arrival of the Ye Clan’s second batch of members, so he could explore beyond Xiaoshan Prefecture.

Just at that moment, he saw a spiritual ship flying in the sky.

The ship’s speed was astonishingly fast, prompting him to instinctively transmit a message to all clan members.

But after a moment, he recognized a familiar figure on the spiritual ship.

It was clearly Ye Jingcheng.

However, there was still a trace of caution on his face.

After all, there was little chance Ye Jingcheng would come without prior notice.

And in this Central Domain, where hidden powers abound, he couldn’t risk someone impersonating Ye Jingcheng to gather information.

”Eleventh Uncle, reveal the pattern!” Ye Qingfeng spoke directly.

But Ye Jingcheng had no time to reveal the pattern at that moment.

Instead, he released the Five-Colored Cloud Deer and Golden Falcon, and as soon as the two demon beasts appeared, Black Cloud Mountain was surrounded by dark clouds.

The Five-Colored Cloud Deer, its body brimming with five-colored radiance, flapped its enormous cloud wings.

What stood out most was its deer head, held high, with black spiritual light adorning its antlers, paired with its massive black nose, presenting an imposing presence.

Beside it, the Golden Falcon this moment appeared like a Golden Roc, with wings longer and a beak looking like a golden sword.

Around it, sword intent emanated inch by inch, making one feel as though witnessing a peerless vicious sword.

”Activate the array!” Ye Jingcheng also revealed an inch of the Beast Communication Pattern.

”Yes, Eleventh Uncle!” Ye Qingfeng’s face turned slightly red at this moment.

Despite the two spirit beasts being able to verify Ye Jingcheng’s identity, he still asked him to reveal the pattern.

Quickly, he started waving the array banner of the Mountain Protection Array, and soon, countless black fogs emerged, enveloping the entire Black Cloud Mountain.

Ye Jingcheng didn’t stop either, taking out an array disc to set up a new formation.

Black Cloud Mountain, being a Tier Three Spirit Mountain, naturally had a Tier Three Array. Such an array could easily conceal the breakthrough fluctuations of a Tier Three Demon Beast, but hiding the breakthrough of a Demon King was much more challenging.

Ye Jingcheng was now deploying an array given by Ye Xuefan, and additionally, set up the Great Prison Celestial Dragon Array obtained from Jin Chengyun of the Jin Family.

The two arrays cloaked the entire Black Cloud Mountain, with the first concealing auras and the latter ensuring that even if something went awry, Ye Jingcheng could handle it, allowing him to finally relax.

He now had time to observe the two beasts.

He had rushed over from Xiaoshan Market without stopping for even a moment, and thankfully arrived with some time to spare due to his haste.

Both beasts had advanced to Tier Four; since there was no bloodline advancement, their appearance hadn’t changed much. However, there were two points that delighted Ye Jingcheng immensely.

The Five-Colored Cloud Deer now had stronger control over blood and energy, able to create a resonant sound wave besides its intake.

After absorbing fiercely, the resulting resonant sound could ripple through one’s energy and blood, an unpredictable technique immensely useful at critical moments.

The Golden Falcon, having reached Tier Four, had also acquired sword intent.

If word spread about a Demon King mastering sword intent, it would certainly evoke amazement.

But indeed, the released sword intent, even without manifesting any spiritual light, could constantly influence the vicinity. If a Tier One or Tier Two Demon Beast got too close, it might even be wounded by the sword intent.

Though Ye Jingcheng knew of their newfound abilities, he still wished to see what kind of Golden Core the beasts could form and was quite curious about their thunder tribulation during breakthrough.

At that moment, however, his Divine Soul began to stir.

It turned out that the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon, having broken through, was foraging.

Ye Jingcheng looked a bit helpless; the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon’s obsession with food was truly intense.

Of course, he also wanted to see the post-breakthrough Jade Qilin Flood Dragon, so he looked at the sky, estimating the speed of the thunder tribulation forming in the gathering clouds.

Then he released the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon.

Upon its release, it appeared as if a mountainous dragon was coiled in the void.

Clearly, the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon was now larger than before, each scale shining brilliantly, and upon closer inspection, each scale contained exceedingly profound spirit patterns.

These spirit patterns varied on each scale.

The other Ye Family Members at this time were left agape.

Even Ye Qingfeng, having seen Ye Jingcheng’s spirit beasts before, was incredibly amazed at this moment.

His eyes gleamed with determination.

He changed his goal from merely achieving the Golden Core to attaining it while commanding a flood dragon!

After all, being from a Beast Taming Clan, not aiming for a splendid flood dragon was really out of the question.

”Truly impressive!” Ye Jingcheng sensed the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon’s aura and noticed that surrounding water attribute spiritual energy was almost entirely absorbed by it.

He then took out a Great Demon Corpse and tossed it into the sky.

This Great Demon Corpse was a Desolate Mountain Cyan Bull Great Demon, enormous like a small pavilion even after some refining materials were stripped from it.

Yet the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon swallowed it effortlessly.

”Thank you, master!”

”Still hungry! Roar!” The Jade Qilin Flood Dragon flipped in the air excitedly, gazing at the Five-Colored Cloud Deer and Golden Falcon, instinctively sticking out its tongue.

However, it had already transformed into a flood dragon, unable to extend its tongue, spitting out a puddle of venom instead.

”In the future, there will be Demon Kings for you to deal with!” Jingcheng placed the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon into the Grotto Heaven.

He also threw in another corpse, allowing the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon to consume it.

Speaking of these corpses, he had quite a few left.

If it weren’t for the Ye Family being able to hunt in the Cyan Cloud Sea Domain and Celestial Departure Grassland, there would be hardly any place to buy more.

After all, the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon has a very large appetite.

Nowadays, Jingcheng only rewards it, while the rest of the time, it feasts on the horned deer, Meat Mushroom Wood Demon, and Spirit Fish in the Grotto Heaven.

Once the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon entered the Grotto Heaven, the exterior thunder tribulation also began to activate simultaneously.

The two beasts were situated in the south and north of the mountain.

Luckily, although Black Cloud Mountain is not very high, it is quite elongated.

Therefore, the two thunder tribulations did not interfere with each other, thus avoiding increasing their power.

Jingcheng settled on the mountain, observing the two beasts undergoing their tribulations.

Boom!

Boom!

The dark clouds in the sky, after jumping with who knows how many Thunder Arcs, finally descended with shocking thunder.

And it descended simultaneously.

Of course, the responses were different for each.

The Five-Colored Cloud Deer shook its body, releasing five Wood Giants to weaken the thunder tribulation.

Once the five Wood Giants turned into wood chips, the Celestial Thunder was already significantly weakened, and when it fell upon the Five-Colored Cloud Deer, the light armor formed by Five-Colored Spiritual Light reduced it further.

Finally, it merely caused the Five-Colored Cloud Deer to slightly change color.

For the Golden Falcon, it could only spit out a Golden Sword, akin to a Sword Cultivator unsheathing a sword and rising.

Sword slashing Celestial Thunder.

Jingcheng even saw a glimpse of Ye Xuecang’s breakthrough to Golden Core back then.

However, despite this, the Golden Falcon suffered considerable injuries.

After all, the Golden Falcon is more accustomed to swordsmanship that descends from the heavens, opposing Celestial Thunder is not its strong suit.

It left Jingcheng somewhat anxious.

Initially, he thought the Five-Colored Cloud Deer would have a harder time crossing the tribulation, given its attacks are not as sharp.

But now, he found that the Golden Falcon’s techniques were somewhat singular.

After the first Celestial Thunder was done, the second quickly followed.

The Five-Colored Cloud Deer continued with Wood Giants and Five-Colored Profound Light.

While the Golden Falcon began to change; its wings dropping numerous Golden Feathers.

These Golden Feathers began to emanate Golden Light upon detaching, and in the next moment, they transformed into countless Feather Swords, swiftly rising in counter-slash.

The spectacle was grand, cleaving the Celestial Thunder into countless parts.

Of course, when it fell on the Golden Falcon, it still caused significant injuries, causing it to spew quite a bit of blood.

Its feathers were somewhat singed black.

Luckily, the Treasure Light Jingcheng had prepared for the two beasts took effect, starting to slowly restore their injuries.

Moreover, the two beasts were also adapting to the strength of a Tier Four Demon King, showing a tendency to fight more valiantly as the battle went on.

The subsequent thunder tribulations were passed without incident.

Ultimately, the Five-Colored Cloud Deer survived five thunder tribulations, while the Golden Falcon got through four.

Demon Beasts undergo one more tribulation than Cultivators.

All things considered, the Five-Colored Cloud Deer congealed into the same Top-Grade Beast Pill as the Golden Scale Beast, while the Golden Falcon was slightly lesser, forming an Upper Grade Beast Pill.

Jingcheng was not surprised, as the Golden Falcon’s talent was just slightly above the Roc Fish and White-Browed Cyan Wolf.

It does not surpass the Five-Colored Cloud Deer, nor can it compare to the Golden Scale Beast, which self-engaged in breathing techniques.

Jingcheng also approached, taking out Treasure Light to heal the two beasts.

He then fed them several Spirit Pills before ushering them into the Grotto Heaven.

”Congratulations, Eleventh Uncle!” Qingfeng then continually offered his congratulations.

However, Jingcheng did not look at Qingfeng.

”Qingfeng, a guest has arrived, go prepare tea!” Jingcheng spoke.

After speaking, he flew out of Black Cloud Mountain.

In the distance, a Three-headed Black Flame Lion appeared, with a black-robed elder Daoist meditating atop it.

”Daoist, you are truly fortunate to possess a Spirit Beast capable of undergoing four thunder tribulations, you must be Qianchen Daoist.” The black-robed elder Daoist spoke.

”This Spirit Beast of mine has just reached Tier Four; it cannot compare to Feng Daoist’s Three-headed Black Flame Lion!” Jingcheng continuously cupped his hands.

Though Jingcheng had not met this person before, he had heard of his reputation.

He is a Golden Core Cultivator of Fengdu Feng Family, one of the five Golden Core influences of Xiaoshan Prefecture, named Feng Daoran.

Moreover, Feng Daoran is a true practitioner of rigorous cultivation; his periods of emergence are rare, and mostly spent frolicking with his lion.

”My lion is too unruly, nowhere near as obedient as yours, Daoist.” Feng Daoran spoke as he petted the lion’s three heads.

”Feng Daoist, why not come into the mountain for some tea?” Jingcheng also suggested.

”Ha-ha, sounds good; observing this mountain’s Spirit Veins, I see it’s Tier Three Lower Grade; upon first meeting, I gift Daoist a Tier Three Spirit-Attracting Stone!” Feng Daoran upon hearing the invitation took out a Jade Box, containing a Tier Three Middle Grade Spirit-Attracting Stone.

”Feng Daoist, you’re too kind!” Jingcheng cupped his hands repeatedly, his mind pondering how to reciprocate the gift.

Of course, overtly, he had already led Feng Daoran up Black Cloud Mountain.

Taking out Spirit Tea, also Tier Three Cyan Jade Lotus, though only Tier Three, its elegance is penetrating, perfectly suitable for the slightly older Cultivators.

”Qianchen Daoist, when do you plan to head to Wangqing Prefecture?” After a few sentences, Feng Daoran also asked.

This statement startled Jingcheng momentarily, but he quickly recalled the Golden Core Conference in Wangqing Prefecture mentioned by Xiao Wankun.

”I haven’t set an exact date; I still wish to prepare more.” Jingcheng shook his head, displaying a hint of embarrassment.

Indeed, he was unaware of the precise date, still needing to inquire in Xiaoshan Prefecture.

Simultaneously, he truly hadn’t had time to prepare treasures.
