Beast Taming Clan: I Have a Jade Book

Chapter 466: Chapter 402: Exhausted from Absorbing, Golden Falcon Breakthrough (Double-Length)

The Golden Scale Beast, under the dual influence of Treasure Light and Spirit Pill, also began to emanate a golden glow, starting its breakthrough.

Ye Jingcheng set up an Array, his eyes full of joy as he let out a long breath.

He looked around the entire grotto, noticing that there were hardly any barren areas left. Ye Jingcheng had now developed two more plots of Spirit Field, each about an acre in size.

Of course, it wasn’t him who opened them up, but the Earthworm who cultivated them.

The Earthworm left to him by Ye Haiyun was quite remarkable; its Divine Soul Fluctuation was minimal, but when it worked, it was somewhat similar to the Jade Ring Rat.

The only downside was that it loved to watch the commotion, often sticking out its head or rear whenever something happened.

Now, it lay quietly in the Spirit Field, its bloodline advancement form being the Earth Python. To be honest, if it weren’t limited to advancing only twice, this Earthworm might eventually become an Earth Dragon.

Of course, the greatest benefit of the Earthworm to him was its ability to generate Spiritual Soil, which is why he wanted to develop more Spirit Fields.

Once the Earthworm breaks through, Ye Jingcheng will obtain Tier Two Spiritual Soil.

Ye Jingcheng’s gaze shifted again to the distant Spirit Lake within the grotto.

At this moment, many Star-Feeding Fish and Red Section Fish populated the Spirit Lake. The Star-Feeding Fish, with its poor reproductive ability, hadn’t laid any Spirit Eggs yet, but the Red Section Fish had laid a considerable number.

This wasn’t surprising to Ye Jingcheng; after all, at Jade Dragon Lake, the Red Section Fish supported an entire tribe of Jade Qilin Snakes.

If their reproductive ability were poor, they would’ve likely gone extinct by now.

At the bottom of the lake, countless Moon Gazing Grass emitted a faint glow, and the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon was in secluded cultivation, seemingly not far from reaching the Tier Two Peak.

Ye Jingcheng estimated that in another year or two, the Jade Qilin Flood Dragon would be the first to complete its seclusion and break through to become a Tier Three Great Demon.

Beside the Spirit Lake, the body of the Peach Wood Demon was entirely covered in green light.

It had already consumed the wooden block of Peach Wood.

Once completed, the resulting longevity of the Peach Fruit may be higher.

Ye Jingcheng was eagerly anticipating this.

Longevity Fruits were immensely popular throughout the Cultivation Realm, and at certain trade fairs, they could even be exchanged for unprecedented treasures.

Beside the Peach Wood was the Purple Jade Vine and Vajra Vine.

The Purple Jade Vine remained unchanged; after a year, it had only grown an inch, still aided by the effect of the Treasure Light.

The Vajra Vine, however, now stood at a height of one and a half zhang, already beginning to bloom.

Perhaps in another half a year, it would bear Vajra Vine seeds, ensuring that his Vajra Vine Cyan Wood Spirit Seed would no longer be short of materials.

Apart from these, the Spiritual Eye Spring had now returned to its state akin to that within the Desolate Secret Realm, filled with abundant Spiritual Energy.

Ye Jingcheng, to be honest, hadn’t expected it to turn out this way, but he knew that it was the Stone Spirit’s doing. This was the Stone Spirit’s grotto; while contemplating that Star Diagram, it could not only expand space but also repair the Spirit Vein and Spiritual Eye Spring.

Ye Jingcheng was now considering spending some Spirit Stones to advance the tier of the Tier One Middle Grade Spirit Vein once more.

Compared to a year ago, this grotto was undoubtedly more complete, blending seamlessly with the outside world.

The only drawback was the space was still inadequate.

Therefore, he couldn’t plant Apricot Trees, Purple Illusion Flowers, or Bamboo Forest Welcoming Spring Tea.

These remained in Ye Jingcheng’s yard outside.

Ye Jingcheng glanced at the Four-Colored Cloud Deer and Thunder Rhinoceros Insects; the Four-Colored Cloud Deer was now filled with green light, reaching the Late Stage of Tier Two.

The Thunder Rhinoceros Insects, under Ye Jingcheng’s control, continued to hone their Thunder Net Skill.

However, whereas there were eight Tier Two Thunder Rhinoceros Insects a year ago, now there were eleven.

Four Hidden-Wing Thunder Rhinoceros Insects and seven regular Thunder Rhinoceros Insects, and among the Thunder Rhinoceros Insects capable of advancing twice, only one hadn’t broken through to Tier Two.

Among those capable of only advancing once, not a single one had broken through to Tier Two yet.

Ye Jingcheng could only sigh at this; his energy was ultimately limited.

After all, every day he needed to cultivate for six hours, and when factoring in Alchemy, practicing Secret Techniques, and miscellaneous duties, twelve hours in a day were far from sufficient.

In fact, he’s already fifty-three years old; time has passed too swiftly.

He ascended Lingyun Peak in his teens, and now over forty years have passed, with his cultivation progressing significantly in the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment.

He’s just a step away from the Foundation Establishment Peak.

All he had to do was wait for his Spirit Beasts to break through, and he could reach the Foundation Establishment Peak.

However, in the Cultivation Realm, there isn’t really a Foundation Establishment Peak realm; it’s more of a state descriptor.

It implies no further advancement in Foundation Establishment, just as Qi Cultivation reaches the Ninth Layer, unable to cultivate more Spiritual Energy at that level, only refine it.

Reaching the Late Stage of Foundation Establishment, when he arrives at the Foundation Establishment Peak, Ye Jingcheng likewise won’t be able to cultivate more Liquid Spiritual Power, only turning to condensing Spiritual Power.

This facilitates compressing it into True Essence during a breakthrough to the Purple Mansion.

This naturally aids the breakthrough significantly, which is why many who reach the Foundation Establishment Peak still opt to lay low for a long time before attempting a breakthrough.

Ye Jingcheng had long planned that once he reached the Foundation Establishment Peak, he would venture into the mortal world of the family to temper his mind.

When breaking through Foundation Establishment, the Illusion Technique Barrier greatly troubled him.

Years of being the Patriarch had alleviated much of his distress.

But to him, the training was still necessary; he had only one Purple Jade Fruit, so if he failed, he’d have to wait for the next batch of Purple Jade Fruits to mature, which he couldn’t afford at present.

Ye Jingcheng mused for a moment before taking out two Jade Talismans to start studying them.

One contained the formula for Purple Spirit Concentration Liquid, the other the Pill Formula for Purple Mansion Jade Liquid.

This research took up another half a day.

Time had become increasingly blurred for Ye Jingcheng.

Whereas before, he could refine several furnaces of elixirs a day, now half a day could easily be consumed by Pill Formula research alone.

While Ye Jingcheng solved another conundrum, he felt the entire grotto begin to shake, with Spiritual Energy continually flowing towards the peak.

Ye Jingcheng immediately awakened, and the Stone Spirit came over from afar.

“Master, I’m being sucked dry here!” The Stone Spirit complained tearfully; as the Swallowing Python Stone Spirit, its absorption ability was extremely potent.

But from the distance, it was clear that the Golden Falcon was about to break through.

This signified what could be his first Tier Three Great Demon Spirit Beast.

The only regret was that this Tier Three Golden Falcon couldn’t boost his own cultivation.

“Don’t worry!” Ye Jingcheng reassured the Stone Spirit, then left the grotto, swiftly heading towards the Lingyun Lake at the mountain’s summit.

The water in Lingyun Lake had been replaced several times, glaciers had melted and reformed.

There were no restrictions now.

The Turtle Ancestor had also checked once before.

However, the Turtle Ancestor, being cautious, continued to conceal himself at Sand Concealment Peak.

But this does not prevent Ye Jingcheng from allowing the Golden Falcon to break through.

At this moment, the Golden Falcon’s feathers became exceedingly elongated, its sharp beak akin to a dagger, its gaze piercing, with a resplendent iridescence, and its wings like those of a Roc Bird, spanning nearly a zhang.

Its advancement clearly facilitated bloodline improvement.

Moreover, with the aid of the Tier Three Demon Pill, it was about to break through within a short year.

Otherwise, under normal circumstances, it would take at least three to four years to do so.

After all, this was advancing from Tier Two to Tier Three.

The Vortex of Spiritual Energy around the Golden Falcon grew increasingly large.

The Golden Falcon began plucking its own feathers, dropping them one by one.

The phenomenon grew larger.

Ye Jingcheng hurriedly controlled the Array.

Suddenly, dark clouds appeared near Lingyun Peak, and a long-brewing heavy rain poured down.

The rain cascaded over Lingyun Peak.

An Array appeared above Lingyun Peak, blocking all the rainwater.

The two Arrays together completely masked the breakthrough activity of the Golden Falcon.

…

In a courtyard of Ye Family’s Lingyun Peak, Ye Jing Hu saw this scene and rushed out, for the thunderstorm weather was greatly beneficial to his comprehension of Secret Techniques.

He had heard that Lingyun Peak used to have frequent thunderstorms, but it seemed they had become much less frequent since the last Beast Tide, not even occurring a few times a year.

And many cultivators on Lingyun Peak shared this feeling.

Of course, for those in the Inner Hall, they were well aware that the secret of Lingyun Lake seemed to be back once more.
