“If I deal with Mooo Xiaoyan, that chick, does that mean I’d become the company’s general manager?”

Lin Tian looked at Mooo Xiaoyan as she left, his face showing some bewilderment, his promotion couldn’t have been more baffling.

But he quickly dismissed the absurd thoughts from his mind.

“Minister Zhao, we’re practically on the same level now!”

Lin Tian stood up, and with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, glanced at Zhao Wu and then said, “While there’s time, I need to go check out the situation at the Security Department before coming back here to work!”

Afterward, Lin Tian greeted You Siyan, Shangguan Xin, and others before heading directly to the Security Department.

At the Security Department’s training field.

When Lin Tian entered, a bunch of people were gathered around, fervently discussing something.

…

“Minister Hu’s hands are wrecked; he definitely won’t be able to come back!”

“Who knows which brilliant person the company will send to take over as the Director?”

…

Lin Tian faintly heard the security guards’ discussion and realized they were talking about him.

“You?

What are you doing here at the Security Department again?”

At that moment, someone spotted Lin Tian walking in and shouted out.

Aside from the two captains present, Wang Youfei and Zheng Liang, no one knew that Hu Zhipeng had been disabled by Lin Tian.

At this time, noticing Lin Tian’s arrival, Wang Youfei and Zheng Liang’s expressions changed, revealing fear.

However, they quickly thought of something, exchanged glances with a light in their eyes, and hurriedly approached him.

“You aren’t here to replace Minister Hu, are you?”

Wang Youfei couldn’t help but be the first to ask.

“If by Director you mean the Security Department Director, then you’re correct!”

Lin Tian replied with a smile, nodding his head.

“What, this weakling, this pretty boy, is going to be our Director?”

A group of security guards immediately erupted into an uproar.

“Captain Wang, are you kidding me?

This guy as our Director?

I saw him applying for a job just a while ago, and in just a few days with the company, he’s jumped ranks to become the Director.

Isn’t this a bit childish?”

Zhou Min, who had seen Lin Tian applying for a job while on guard duty, couldn’t help but step forward to speak.

“Brother Wang, Xiao Zhou is right, this guy really did just come to the company less than a week ago!

We saw him with our own eyes coming to apply!”

Brother Zhong, Zhong Yuanjian, also stepped forward, adding, “Maybe you should give feedback to the higher-ups, Brother Wang.

If there’s been a mistake, it would be a huge blunder!”

“There won’t be any mistake!

If you don’t believe it, then you two go ahead and try your hand against our…”

Captain Wang shook his head confidently, intending to introduce Lin Tian, but realized he didn’t know his name.

“I’m Lin Tian!

I’m younger than all of you, so from now on, just call me Lin Tian or Minister Lin.”

Lin Tian introduced himself with a smile and then turned to Zhou Min and Zhong Yuanjian, saying, “Of course, you guys might not believe or accept that I’m fit for the Director’s role, so let these two brothers have a go at testing me!

If I can’t beat them both with one move, I’ll leave right away!”

One move?

Everyone in the security team was taken aback, then they all began to scoff.

Although Zhou Min and Zhong Yuanjian were only of moderate skill among their group, they could each take on three big men on their own, let alone the seemingly frail Lin Tian in front of them.

“Kid, you talk too big.

Let’s teach you a lesson!”

“Stand firm!”

Zhou Min and Zhong Yuanjian exchanged a glance and simultaneously threw their fists at Lin Tian’s arms, aiming squarely for the limbs.

It was evident that they were afraid of hurting Lin Tian’s vital spots, so they only targeted his arms.

But Lin Tian was faster, striking with both hands towards the space between their arms and chests, sending both men tumbling to the ground.

With a heavy thud, security personnel at the scene blinked to find Zhou Min and Zhong Yuanjian lying on the ground in pain.

“Too fast!”

“That move, quick as lightning!

Zhou Min and Zhong Yuanjian had no chance to fight back before they went down!”

“Even the former Minister Hu wasn’t this formidable!”

A group of security guards gasped in awe and then looked at Lin Tian, their eyes full of admiration and worship.

“Minister Lin!”

Zhou Min and Zhong Yuanjian, who were in pain but not injured, got up and called out to Lin Tian.

“Convinced?”

Lin Tian casually looked at the two and asked.

“Minister Lin, we’re convinced!”

The two said eagerly and in unison.

“Minister Lin!”

The others exchanged glances and then began to speak in turn.

“Good!”

Lin Tian patted Zhou Min, who was standing in front of him, then turned to Wang Youfei and Zheng Liang, saying, “The company’s security is split into two teams, one handles internal and the other tackles external security, right?

However, while I’ve taken over, everything will remain as usual!

Just don’t let me catch anyone breaking the law or rules!

As for the rest, as long as you take good care of security, I’ll turn a blind eye to the rest!”

“Also, the day after tomorrow, Friday evening, we’re having a dinner, and I’m picking up the tab!”

Hearing this, Wang Youfei and the others were stunned and then erupted into cheers.

“Long live the Minister!”

“Just in time to toast to the Minister’s new appointment!”

A group of excited security guards laughed and chatted.

But Lin Tian noticed that among the group, two people had been indifferent to his presence and even his action, without any change in expression from beginning to end.

The two were a man and a woman, both in their thirties, standing very close to each other.

Their faces wore a trace of indifference and concern, and their eyes a barely noticeable sharpness.

“Carry on, I’m going up!”

With a wave to the crowd, Lin Tian signaled for Wang Youfei to follow him.

Once out of the training area, Lin Tian whispered, “In the security department, who are that isolated man and woman?”

“Minister is referring to Xu Ping and Zhao Yixin, right?

They’re a married couple that joined the security department a year ago.

They don’t interact much with us, but they have solid skills and quality!”

Wang Youfei explained somewhat incomprehensibly but concisely.

A married couple?

Lin Tian was a bit surprised, then waved it off, saying, “Never mind, go do your thing!”

Those two are not simple!

Assassins?

Superpower users?

Lin Tian pondered and returned to the Sales Department.

Even with the additional role, he found himself with more leisure time.

For the following two days, he visited the Security Department twice a day, then went back to the Sales Department to either relax and play games or daydream while secretly cultivating.

Friday morning.

After routinely checking on the Security Department, Lin Tian didn’t return to Sales but instead went up to the 19th floor.

At the reception, he inquired of the busy girl, “Xiao Song, how much longer until the board meeting starts today?”

“Ah, Minister Lin!”

Xiao Song was startled by Lin Tian’s sudden appearance, then put a hand to her chest and replied, “It’s been going on for a while, it seems they started early due to some dissatisfaction among several directors!”

“You carry on then!”

Lin Tian narrowed his eyes and started toward the staircase, heading to the 20th floor.

The Tianzi Group’s board of directors and shareholders’ meeting was being held in the large conference room on the 20th floor.
