My Talent Skill Mutated

“Because he wants to use his fight with you to achieve a breakthrough and reach the Ninth Law.”

Wu Wudi said calmly.

Break through to the Ninth Law?!

Chen Yu was startled.

When it came to Law Cultivation, aside from natural talent, the only shortcut was to absorb the Laws contained within other Divine Origins.

‘He can use me to break through to the Ninth Law? Is that even possible?!’

Wu Wudi patted his shoulder and said, “The Celestial Race has a special constitution. Combat can also help them achieve breakthroughs in their comprehension of the Laws.”

“Although it’s not a one-hundred-percent guarantee, the chance of a breakthrough is still quite high.”

“So, he’s basically treating me as his sparring partner?” Chen Yu asked, looking at Wu Wudi.

Wu Wudi nodded. “That’s one way to put it.”

“But the Celestial Race has so many masters. Why come after me?” Chen Yu still didn’t quite understand.

Wu Wudi replied, “Fighting geniuses from other races allows for greater improvement. He probably targeted you a long time ago. Even if it doesn’t work this time, there will be a next time.”

“However, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing for you.”

Chen Yu: “???”

“How could this possibly be good for me?” Chen Yu asked, looking at Wu Wudi in astonishment.

Wu Wudi nodded. “Yes, there are. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have told you to accept.”

Chen Yu blinked, looking at Wu Wudi with curiosity. “What kind of benefits?”

“The Celestial Race’s special constitution gives them a chance to break through during combat. The same applies to you. You’ll have a chance to gain new insights, improve, and it’s not even out of the question that you could have a breakthrough yourself.”

Wu Wudi said slowly.

‘I see…’

Chen Yu nodded as understanding dawned on him.

He had never imagined the Celestial Race possessed such an ability.

‘So fighting them has its perks.’

“The Divine Children of the Celestial Race possess their race’s fortune. This fortune is intangible, but if you defeat one in battle, you can obtain a portion of it. This can rapidly help you comprehend new Laws. Even if you don’t comprehend a new Law, it can still allow your Divine Power to break through, your existing Laws to grow, and your overall strength to increase.”

“In that case, this battle is absolutely essential.”

A glint appeared in Chen Yu’s eyes.

Now, he was actually looking forward to it.

‘If this can help my cultivation, I wouldn’t mind a good warmup.’

‘Mm, I can’t go too hard. I’ll have to control myself. If I accidentally kill him, it would be a total waste.’

“Alright, thank you for the reminder, Senior. I understand now,” Chen Yu said, snapping out of his thoughts.

Wu Wudi nodded, looked at Chen Yu, and smiled slightly. “Good, as long as you understand. I also want to see your current strength. When the time comes, don’t be careless. Every Divine Child of the Celestial Race has the ability to challenge those of a higher level.”

“Understood,” Chen Yu nodded.

Wu Wudi said no more, then rose to his feet and vanished before Chen Yu’s eyes.

‘A spar… I’m actually a little excited. I hope you don’t disappoint me…’ Chen Yu thought to himself as he lay back on the sofa. Sophie, who was standing before him, slowly knelt down.

…

「Celestial City, Villa District for Other Races.」

Inside a luxurious villa, two figures were seated on a sofa in the main hall.

These two figures were none other than the two members of the Celestial Race Chen Yu had encountered earlier.

Yuan Chen and the Taixu Divine Child!

“What do you think of this Chen Yu?” Yuan Chen asked, looking at the Taixu Divine Child.

The Taixu Divine Child held his teacup, blew on it lightly, and took a sip. “Very strong. I’m not even certain I can defeat him.”

“Among Tier One True Gods, his strength is likely unrivaled in the universe. It seems the claims about his potential to become a Great Emperor are not baseless.”

Hearing this, a smile spread across Yuan Chen’s face. “I’m surprised to hear you say that.”

The Taixu Divine Child set down his teacup. “I’m merely speaking the truth. He might even be on par with that Great Emperor from the Human Race.”

“A powerful opponent deserves to be treated with respect.”

Yuan Chen smiled at him. “In that case, it seems you’re quite satisfied with this opponent. I have faith in you.”

“I’ll only know after we fight. Whether I can break through or not depends on how much pressure he can put on me.”

The Taixu Divine Child said calmly.

Yuan Chen nodded. His smile faded, and his expression turned serious. “His strength cannot be underestimated. Your intuition is correct about that. I don’t know exactly how many Laws he’s cultivated, but I suspect it’s around six or seven.”

“Furthermore, his abilities are bizarre. The man has methods that can summon a Hell Demon God. It’s best to be cautious.”

The Taixu Divine Child looked at Yuan Chen. “You think he might have a connection to Hell?”

“If he does, should I play my trump card and eliminate him?”

Yuan Chen shook his head. “Don’t even think about killing him. With Wu Wudi around, you have absolutely no chance. If Chen Yu dies, you and I will be buried alongside him.”

“As for the connection to Hell… it’s likely related to the fact that he possesses the Demon Heaven Emperor’s Emperor’s Weapon.”

Yuan Chen said slowly.

At these words, the Taixu Divine Child’s pupils constricted. He looked at Yuan Chen. “The Demon Heaven Emperor’s weapon… you mean the Celestial Demon Blade?!”

“Mhm.”

Yuan Chen nodded. “According to our investigation, Chen Yu’s Innate Emperor’s Weapon should be the one that belonged to the Demon Heaven Emperor, who once dominated the Mortal World. With the Celestial Demon Blade, a cosmic Innate Emperor’s Weapon, it’s impossible for you to kill him. At most, it would end in mutual destruction.”

“This man’s fortune is truly extraordinary,” the Taixu Divine Child sighed.

Yuan Chen nodded. “His fortune is indeed extraordinary. When he ascended to godhood, he even broke the record for the Celestial River’s Human Race. Barring any accidents, there’s a high probability he’ll become a Great Emperor.”

“Even if he doesn’t become a Great Emperor, as long as he doesn’t die, he’ll be another Wu Wudi in the future.”

“So, banish any thoughts of eliminating him. The Human Race’s current strength should not be underestimated. Even though they only have Wu Wudi, if it came to an all-out fight, he’s capable of unleashing power on the Great Emperor Level.”

“Don’t tell me Wu Wudi has already taken that step?” the Taixu Divine Child asked, looking at him in disbelief.

Yuan Chen shook his head. “Of course not. If he had condensed the Cosmic Seal, the entire Mortal World would have sensed it. Even a Great Emperor can’t hide that.”

“But, even though he isn’t a Great Emperor yet, it’s true that he can unleash power comparable to the Great Emperor Level.”

The Taixu Divine Child fell silent for a moment before speaking. “Fine. I’ll hold back. As long as I don’t kill him, it should be fine.”

“Mhm, as long as he doesn’t die, it’s not a problem. It’s a spar, after all. Getting injured is normal.”

“I trust in your strength, but don’t underestimate Chen Yu. You can unleash your other abilities, just not that final trump card.”

“Alright, I understand.”

The Taixu Divine Child nodded, then stood up and walked towards the second floor of the villa.

…

“Brother Yu, Jiang Can and I are here. Can we see you?”

Just as Chen Yu was enjoying a massage from Sophie, a voice transmission reached his mind.

Hearing the transmission, Chen Yu quickly opened his eyes and looked outside the villa.

‘Nangong Ba… Jiang Can.’

With a sweep of his Divine Thought, Chen Yu knew at a glance. With a thought, he appeared at the villa’s entrance.

Two figures stood before him.

They were none other than the two stars of tomorrow’s event.

Nangong Ba and Jiang Can!

When they saw Chen Yu appear, smiles broke out on both their faces as they hurried forward.

“Brother Yu, long time no see!”

The two of them spoke in unison.

Chen Yu nodded with a smile. “Long time no see. Congratulations to you both for ascending to godhood, my fellow Daoists!”
