My Talent Skill Mutated

Chen Yu didn’t care about other places, but Qing City was different.

He still had a few friends there.

”What’s wrong?” Seeing the change in expression on Chen Yu and the other man’s face, the other two Ninth-level Martial Artists drew closer.

”The Alien Race has made its move. This time, it’s likely the Holy Spirit Race pulling the strings.”

Third Uncle Dongfang spoke, his voice low and heavy.

”The Holy Spirit Race...” Hearing Third Uncle Dongfang’s words, information about the Holy Spirit Race quickly surfaced in Chen Yu’s mind.

The Holy Spirit Race was a relatively powerful Alien Race.

They were also a great enemy of the Human Race.

Their appearance was similar to the Angel Race, as they also had a pair of wings.

However, unlike the wings of the Angel Race, the wings of the Holy Spirit Race were black.

This feature was very striking. Beyond that, the Holy Spirit Race had another distinct characteristic: the Holy Pattern.

They were born with it.

The Holy Pattern of each member of the Holy Spirit Race was equivalent to a genetic code, located between their eyebrows.

Within the Celestial River Star System, the Holy Spirit Race was also one of the foremost races.

Five hundred years ago, the Holy Spirit Race had been allies of humanity. But after a certain incident, they went from allies to enemies of the Human Race overnight.

The number of humans who had died at the hands of the Holy Spirit Race was already innumerable.

”So you’re saying the Holy Spirit Race is the one instigating the beast tide in Qing City this time?”

Chen Yu asked, looking at Third Uncle Dongfang.

Third Uncle Dongfang nodded. ”Yes. It’s almost certain. We’ve seen situations like this before.”

”Then I’m heading out first.”

Chen Yu spoke, and before the others could react, he transformed into a streak of light and vanished without a trace.

”That guy... he’s so fast!” The three men were shocked, staring at the spot where Chen Yu had vanished.

When they came to their senses, one of them looked at Third Uncle Dongfang and asked, ”Should we go and provide support?”

”Let’s go take a look. But we probably won’t need to intervene,” Third Uncle Dongfang said after a moment of thought.

The other two had no objections. With a flicker of movement, they too vanished over the sea.

「Qing City.」

A massive gash was torn in the tall, steel city wall, and countless mutant beasts poured through, charging toward the urban center of Qing City.

The sounds of roars, slaughter, fear, and crying all mixed together.

Under the onslaught of countless invading mutant beasts, Qing City’s Defense Power seemed utterly feeble.

The first line of steel defense had been breached, and the second wouldn’t hold for much longer.

Despair cloaked all of Qing City. The overwhelming horde of mutant beasts blotted out any glimmer of hope.

”Kill them! We can’t let these bastards take another step!”

”We fight to protect!”

”KILL!!!”

Countless voices cried out, and in the depths of despair, hope was rekindled.

Explosions, blasts of Qi, and bombardments from thermal weapons—every available measure was unleashed in that moment.

At that moment, a gleam of light appeared high above Qing City. The next second, a figure materialized in the empty air.

Gazing down at the massive, dark tide of beasts covering the land, Chen Yu gave a light wave of his hand. In the next instant, the entirety of Qing City was enveloped in his Life Force Field.

”Huh? It’s like they can’t get through anymore!”

”What’s going on?”

”Did a miracle happen or something?”

The Life Force Field shielded the entire city, and all the mutant beasts were instantly blocked off.

They roared and charged, but it was completely useless.

Even with hundreds of thousands of mutant beasts charging—or even a million—they couldn’t shake the protective Force Field in the slightest.

With Qing City protected, Chen Yu acted with a single thought.

In the clear sky, crystalline snowflakes began to fall, drifting down toward the earth.

As the countless snowflakes landed, the mutant beasts began to fall, one after another.

In the space of just a few breaths, a third of the mutant beasts had been frozen to death.

Moreover, the rate of death was increasing at an astonishing speed.

In a flash, more than half of the mutant beasts had been frozen solid by the snowflakes.

Chen Yu stood in the void, his fingers spread wide. As he froze the mutant beasts to death, he was also stripping them of their Life Force.

They were all Low-level Mutant Beasts, Level 3 or 4, some even just Level 1 or 2. Their individual Life Force wasn’t much, but their numbers were enormous. The combined Life Force of a million mutant beasts was astonishing.

This was the first time Chen Yu had used his freezing snowflake attack against a beast tide.

The effect was remarkable.

At this moment, everyone in the city saw what was happening. All eyes turned to the lone figure high above them.

His figure wasn’t large, but at that moment, in the hearts of the people of Qing City, he seemed as boundlessly majestic as a Divine Spirit.

He had eliminated half the mutant beasts with a mere turn of his hand. Such power was no different from that of a Divine Spirit.

”That’s... Chen Yu!!!”

In a corner of the city, several people watched the figure above, their pupils contracting in shock.

These were none other than his former Mercenary Team teammates.

”Is this his power now?”

Watching this scene, they were filled with an undisguisable shock, as if a meteorite had plunged into their hearts and stirred up colossal waves.

They had seen stories about Chen Yu’s exploits on the news, but nothing could compare to the shock of witnessing it firsthand.

A beast tide a million strong was before him, yet it seemed completely insignificant.

One man, protecting an entire city!

”Damn it, who is this human?”

On a mountain peak deep in the wilderness outside Qing City, several figures watched the mutant beasts being frozen to death, their expressions utterly grim.

”That man is Chen Yu, a genius among the Human Race,” a winged man said.

”He cannot be allowed to live. He must be killed,” the leader, a winged, middle-aged man, declared.

”His power is not to be underestimated. A million mutant beasts were no match for him. I’m afraid he won’t be easy to deal with.”
