My Talent Skill Mutated

”Captain, where is the beast tide?”

Baili Qing was the first to ask.

The middle-aged man in the military uniform quickly snapped out of his daze. His expression was grim as he said, ”Island 108 was hit by a beast tide. It’s already been breached. Currently, the garrison on Island 100 is resisting, but they probably won’t last much longer.”

”Island 100...”

As he listened to the man, a detailed nautical chart of the area surfaced in Chen Yu’s mind.

These islands were the farthest, about a thousand kilometers away, deep in the South Sea.

”How large is the scale?” Chen Yu asked.

The man in the uniform replied, ”We’re not sure yet. At least several million, maybe even ten million!”

”Several million!!!”

The expressions of the group changed.

The larger the beast tide, the more likely it is for powerful beasts to appear.

A beast tide numbering in the millions, or even tens of millions, was considered massive.

Even a typical small or medium-sized safe zone wouldn’t be able to withstand it!

They knew the situation in the South Sea was dire, but this was still beyond their expectations.

Chen Yu, however, was thrilled.

The scale of this beast tide was exactly to his liking.

If he could handle it, achieving his next physical Evolution would be no problem at all.

If there were enough Level 6 or Level 7 beasts, he might even be able to upgrade another Skill.

”Chen Yu, you... you’re not planning to go to Island 100, are you?” Zhuang Qi asked from the side, noticing his expression.

Hearing this, the others all turned to look at him.

”When a beast tide attacks, an Awakened should be on the front lines, fighting it back,” Chen Yu said with a solemn expression.

”...”

’Is he out of his mind? Why is he rushing headfirst into this?’

Zhuang Qi stared at Chen Yu, speechless.

’Now this is an Awakened worthy of respect. What were those other ones I dealt with before?!’

The middle-aged man in uniform looked at Chen Yu, his respect for him growing even more.

Facing a beast tide, he didn’t retreat. Instead, he wanted to be the first one there, to lead from the front!

This was a true Awakened of the people!

”I’ll go with you,” Dongfang Yao said.

Chen Yu glanced at Dongfang Yao and nodded lightly.

He wasn’t sure what Dongfang Yao’s current strength was, but it had definitely increased significantly.

Besides, she had a burst-type Skill that could be a game-changer at a critical moment.

Anything could happen in the depths of the sea.

If they encountered a top-tier beast, they might be able to support each other.

”Brother Yu, then we’ll go too!” Baili Qing said with a serious look.

”Count me in!” An Ran said, puffing out her chest.

’They’re all heroes...’ The middle-aged man in uniform was deeply moved as he looked at them.

”No, you all stay here. If something unexpected happens, there might not be time to send support,” Dongfang Yao said.

”But...”

”That’s the decision. Just in case, this place needs to be defended too,” Chen Yu added.

”...Alright, we’ll listen to Brother Yu,” An Ran nodded.

”Then I’ll stay behind to help coordinate the defense as well,” Zhuang Qi said.

Chen Yu glanced at her and nodded.

Immediately, the two of them moved, vanishing as they broke through the air.

Watching the retreating figures of Dongfang Yao and Chen Yu, the others silently exchanged glances.

* * *

Over a thousand kilometers is a great distance.

But for Chen Yu and Dongfang Yao, it didn’t take much time to arrive.

Upon the deep blue sea, a lone island stood.

The island wasn’t very large, only a few dozen kilometers in diameter.

But surrounding the island, a massive, dark swarm of Deep Sea Beasts had gathered on all sides.

They had the island garrison surrounded, a full three hundred and sixty degrees.

The scene was enough to take one’s breath away!

The oppressive presence of the colossal Deep Sea Beasts, some a hundred meters tall, or even several hundred, was crushing.

Roars, sounds of slaughter, and fear.

Under the assault of the Deep Sea Beast Tide, the feeling of being isolated and helpless was enough to drive anyone to despair.

However, faced with the Deep Sea Beast Tide, the only thing to do was endure.

In the sky above, the figures of Chen Yu and Dongfang Yao appeared.

Their pupils contracted as they looked down at the massive, dark swarm of Deep Sea Beasts.

It wasn’t that they had never experienced a beast tide before, but compared to a terrestrial one, a Deep Sea Beast Tide was far more terrifying.

Deep Sea Beasts were, as a rule, stronger than their land-based counterparts.

Moreover, here in the deep sea, this was their home turf.

Scanning the Deep Sea Beast Tide, Chen Yu didn’t spot a Beast King.

’It’s probably hiding in the depths.’

”Let’s make the first move. We’ll break a path through,” Chen Yu said.

Dongfang Yao nodded.

SWOOSH!!

With a flicker, the two of them vanished simultaneously.

In the next instant, Chen Yu reappeared over the eastern part of the island.

ROAR!!

The beasts roared, and countless pillars of water shot towards him. The beasts in a tide were in a frenzied state; as long as their Beast King lived, they would show no signs of retreat.

HUMMM—!

As the beasts’ attacks rained down, Chen Yu showed no fear. With a slight lift of his hand, a deep blue, frosty aura erupted.

In a flash, the cold swept out, and a terrifying storm of frost descended.

The seawater froze, and thousands of Deep Sea Beasts were instantly turned into ice sculptures.

BOOM!!!

He slammed a fist into the center of the frozen mass. A formidable power exploded outward in a terrifying shockwave, instantly obliterating tens of thousands of Deep Sea Beasts.

As the frost spread, the corpses shattered into pieces.

But for a beast tide numbering in the millions, this was merely an appetizer.

He pushed both palms forward, and a wave of frost visible to the naked eye rushed out.

Another wave of freezing!

With his Ice Age Skill now at Level 2, only a Level 8 beast could break through his frost.

If he weren’t concerned about the people on the island, he probably would have just used his ultimate and frozen everything.

WHOOSH—!

A sound of tearing air rang out as a beam of deep blue light shot towards Chen Yu from the depths of the beast tide.

It carried an aura of destruction, and the very air seemed to split before it.
