Our Family Has Fallen

The collision of the two axes erupted in a deafening roar. It was the sound of metal clashing at high speed, releasing the power contained within in that instant—a pure struggle of strength without any flair.

But in the next second, Barin stepped back several times before steadying himself, his axe-wielding right arm visibly trembling. He was clearly at a disadvantage in the clash of power.

And his meticulously maintained Lumber Axe now bore a prominent notch.

Warwolf, on the other hand, showed no change in stance, but only he himself could feel the impact this opponent before him had delivered.

He appeared to have had no training, nor the gaze of the Spirits of Nature, yet possessed such strength... Could it be the Extraordinary Bloodline?

This man must not be spared!

Warwolf made his decision and got serious, his Battle Axe swinging out.

Seeing his axe damaged, Barin lost his cool. After all, it was his breadwinning tool, and he always took great care of it after use.

How was he to chop wood now? Wasn’t this destroying his own livelihood?

Previously, he had been cautious not to cause damage and had held back, but now he threw caution to the wind and swung his axe with all his might.

”Give me back my axe!”

Once again, the Lumber Axe collided with the Battle Axe...

Why couldn’t the three squads defeat those Barbarian Tribe warriors before?

Because Warwolf and the One-Eyed Wolf King had broken through their formation in an instant, leaving the soldiers, trained for formation fighting, somewhat ineffective once separated.

But the sudden insertion of fresh troops changed the situation. After Barin intercepted Warwolf, a fully intact squad facing off against warriors battered by Grendel was nothing short of a one-sided slaughter.

However, Warwolf’s terrifying power was enough to instantly destroy such an advantage, a fact that had left a profound impression on Grendel.

This was the disparity in high-end combat power. No one could withstand even a casual blow from Warwolf.

But the man before him now managed to block it. While at a disadvantage, it did not mean he had no chance.

Grendel, previously somewhat panicked, now felt a surge of strength well up within her.

She immediately pulled an unknown object from her pocket and threw it at Warwolf, simultaneously waving her Magic Wand to cast a spell.

The moment the object hit the ground, it awoke from dormancy. Within two to three seconds, a black vine grew from the earth.

Ironvine!

A product of the Mountains, with the thickness of a finger, it could restrain a wild boar, renowned for its incredible tenacity. It was tamed and utilized by the Deerhead Tribe, much like the Strangler Vines.

No matter how unnaturally strong Barin was, he lacked professional combat training. He could overpower the white wolves and warriors with his strength, but facing Warwolf, an opponent superior in both power and experience, it was unrealistic to contend with him based solely on instinct.

But Hamlet never had a tradition of fighting alone. Their specialty was a particular kind of ’single combat’: one of you against all of us.

The resilience of the Ironvine was not as fragile as that of the Strangler Vines. Even Warwolf couldn’t hope to escape it easily.

Moreover, controlling a single vine was much simpler than controlling a mass of plants. This was evident as the black vine attacked Warwolf with great dexterity, directly intervening in his fight with Barin.

Grendel focused all her effort on controlling the Ironvine, never expecting the One-Eyed Wolf King to have circled around unnoticed. Its target, quite obviously, was Grendel—the only person present who posed a threat to Warwolf.

At this moment, any of Grendel’s nearby soldiers still able to move had already joined the fray against the Barbarian Tribe warriors. Only the severely wounded, incapable of action, remained. They had no chance of stopping it.

With most of her attention on controlling the Ironvine, Grendel didn’t even notice the One-Eyed Wolf King closing in.

For One-Eye, a single leap was all it would take to fatally bite the woman from behind. Envy wasn’t limited to humans; this held true even for One-Eye, though it was male.

But at this critical juncture, a figure rushed out, blocking One-Eye’s path—who else could it be but Wang Cai?

Wang Cai hadn’t left but had been trailing behind all along. Thanks to the Potion, its wounds had begun to stabilize.

One was riddled with injuries, the other missing an eye. The two adversaries met, their enmity flaring, and without a word, they launched into a fierce battle.

Only then did Grendel notice the commotion behind her, feeling a wave of gratitude for her earlier decision to save Wang Cai.

But with her slight distraction, and without the Ironvine’s restraint, how could Barin possibly stand a chance against Warwolf?

The moment Grendel’s focus wavered, and the resulting ’offering’—a perfect opening—both became apparent, Warwolf seized the chance, unleashing his full power. Barin couldn’t react to the sudden change in tempo.

When the Battle Axe came down, he instinctively lifted his Lumber Axe to block, but even his great strength could not withstand a Battle Axe swung with full force.

The axe blade pressed down on Barin’s Lumber Axe, continuing onto his body. Even with the Lumber Axe partially blocking the blow, its wooden handle couldn’t withstand Warwolf’s ferocious power, and the outcome was decided in an instant.

The axe strike, landing from the shoulder, carved a grotesque wound. Had it not been for the Lumber Axe’s slight deflection, he might have been cleaved in two. The severe injury instantly robbed him of his ability to fight.

Warwolf paid him no further mind. Kicking Barin away, he retrieved his Battle Axe and confidently turned, charging towards Grendel.

The soldiers noticed and tried to intercept. But if someone as sturdy as Barin couldn’t endure a single blow, these soldiers stood no chance of even making Warwolf pause. He simply shoulder-charged through them. In the next second, the soldiers were sent flying backward, an exaggerated sight, as if hit by a truck.
