Our Family Has Fallen

Chapter 503: Chapter 317: What the Heck is Hitting Me?_2

”You’re so good to me.”

Upon hearing these words from Tamara, Lance knew he had dodged a bullet and went along with the conversation.

”When you go back, treasure the opportunity I’ve secured for you. Focus on improving yourself and don’t get involved in their struggles. You only need to know that as long as I’m alive, they won’t dare touch you. When your strength grows, all their schemes will become powerless.”

Truth be told, Tamara had some cleverness, but when it came to their internal factional strife, she could only be used as a chess piece.

”I understand.”

Soon, Lance stepped out of the carriage, hitched up his trousers, and strode out.

In a time of chaos, a true man shouldn’t be brought low by feminine charms!

Early to bed and early to rise was the norm in those days, with most people waking up around four in the morning to start their day in the dim early light.

Back home, Lance saw Boudica moving about in the front yard, along with a somewhat juvenile figure—it was Joan, who had come early in the morning to train.

Strength doesn’t grow out of thin air; it comes from prolonged training. Joan had seen the four o’clock Hamlet.

”Boss, why are you just getting back?” Boudica, a bit curious, crowded in. But when she got close, as if noticing something, she sniffed near Lance’s side. ”What’s that smell?”

This move made Lance a bit embarrassed, and he pushed her face away with his hand. ”You’re not Wang Cai, stop it.”

Lance’s secretive demeanor only confirmed something for Boudica, and she complained with some dissatisfaction, ”The smell of blood! Boss, you got into a fight and didn’t call me!”

”Hmm...” Lance smacked his lips and finally couldn’t help but laugh resignedly. ”Next time. Next time there’s a chance, I’ll call you.”

”I’ll definitely be the fiercest!”

Boudica’s reaction sent him hurrying back for a bath; afterward, he felt refreshed.

So naturally, his attention turned to the previously troublesome Boudica.

”How do you like the bracers? Have you gotten used to them?”

”I’ve become stronger!” Boudica raised her hand, making a fist to show Lance her strength.

Visible on her wrist was the Extraordinary Equipment, the Legendary Bracers, that Lance had filched from Tamara.

Lance had tested this item; it indeed provided a powerful boon to strength, but not everyone could bear that power. It was like being weighed down, making movements sluggish.

Moreover, the power it conferred could lead to an increased risk of spirit disturbance. Most Transcendents might not withstand it. However, ordinary people, being unable to perceive Spiritual Essence, were immune to this disturbance. This resulted in sorcery having a more severe effect on them.

The negative aspects of this equipment were mostly negated by Lance’s own extraordinary physique, but such an enhancement wasn’t necessary for him.

Instead, it showed its full potential when worn by others. After trials with several people, Boudica was ultimately chosen as the wearer.

She had been constantly adapting her combat style while wearing the bracers; otherwise, why would she be up at four in the morning to train?

Today, Tamara and her group were to leave, and Lance also had to prepare to set off for the Beast Lair.

But before that, he needed to make all the necessary preparations.

”Come on, spar with me.” Lance walked down into the yard, showing Boudica a fierce smile.

When dealing with Tamara, Lance had been quite considerate, even afraid to attack with full force for fear of injuring her.

But with Boudica, this tough, muscle-bound woman, he wasn’t so courteous.

You were causing trouble just now, weren’t you? This punch is for that.

Boudica was similarly unafraid; her life revolved around two things: drinking and fighting.

Now, with a month-long ban on alcohol, and having had no brawls for two days since returning from fighting bandits, plus being unable to go all out when training with Sprout Joan, she felt like ants were crawling all over her.

Not to mention the surge of power from equipping the Legendary Bracers that she had no outlet for—after all, training dummies don’t fight back.

Now, she was ready to vent with all her might!

The two showed no mercy, wasting no words. Fists met flesh, every move aimed to kill.

The collision of bodies was so intense that it left Joan, watching from the side, dumbfounded.

She had been learning close-quarters combat from Boudica for some time and, though often beaten, had never witnessed anything of this ferocity.

Her eyes could barely keep up with their movements; all she could hear were the continuous ”THWACK! THWACK!” sounds—the clash of flesh, the wails of bones.

A real fight was never pretty; it was more like two wild beasts tearing at each other.

Barbaric, cruel, frenzied, bloody...

This scene dealt a tremendous shock to Joan’s young mind.

But Boudica was even more shocked. She had thought that with the powerful strength granted by her equipment, even if she couldn’t win, she could at least hold her own for a while. However, in the fierce confrontation, she quickly fell into a disadvantage.

Unable to win head-on, Boudica wasn’t inflexible. She lunged, wrapping an arm around his neck, hoping to use her bodily strength to lock him in place.

When dealing with beasts far stronger than herself, one had to target vital points; locking the neck could quickly subdue them.

But Lance was no beast; he instantly sensed Boudica’s intentions.

Trying to choke me?

How could Lance let her succeed? He preemptively raised his hands to block her from closing her grip around his neck. The moment she overextended, he seized the advantage and threw her entire body.

Boudica was no ordinary person; how could she be so easily thrown? Though her upper body was blocked, as he lifted her, she seized the opportunity, her strong, powerful thighs clamping around Lance’s waist.

Leg strength can be several times greater than arm strength, not to mention Boudica’s well-exercised, muscular thighs. With one contraction, they could crush a watermelon or bend a steel pipe, let alone a waist made of mere flesh and bone.

Who could withstand that?!

Feeling the pressure on his waist, Lance abruptly realized it was impossible to throw her off. He immediately punched her in the side.

A despicable kidney punch! That spot was a deadly weakness, easily causing a ruptured spleen. Boudica, suddenly struck by this devastating blow, trembled all over. Her muscles went slack as if losing all control, and the thighs clamped around Lance’s waist loosened their grip.

Lance immediately lifted her to break free, then maneuvered behind her and grabbed her neck.

Now, with just a little effort, he could snap her neck or choke her. Boudica was effectively defeated.

But she hadn’t given up. She had a high pain tolerance, having grown up fighting. With adrenaline surging, she quickly recovered from the acute pain and immediately threw an elbow strike backward.

How could Lance let her succeed? He reached out, embracing her from the front, pinning her arms. His body pressed against her back, leaving her no room to exert any force.

The situation was once again controlled by Lance; Boudica was completely locked down, struggling in vain.

Previously, Lance likely wouldn’t have focused on such sensations. But having recently... indulged, and now pressed so close to Boudica’s body, he could feel her taut, powerful waist, devoid of any fat. Lower down, where their bodies were pressed even tighter, the friction from her struggles was rapidly igniting a fire within him.

”You’ve lost,” Lance said without hesitation as he released her and pushed her away. To continue holding on would lead to trouble.

It was only because Joan was watching nearby that Lance didn’t just carry Boudica back to his room and have his way with her. He found himself intrigued by her abs, her defined core, those powerful thighs, and her sturdy body, which... might offer a unique flavor...

But the thought was fleeting as Lance suddenly calmed down.

Wait a minute, why would such a thought even cross my mind?

The corruption infesting this land truly is everywhere.

Lance took a moment to compose himself, and the agitation in his heart subsided. But Boudica was now clutching her waist where she’d been hit, complaining.

”Boss, that hurts~”

Lance, speechless, walked over and passed his hand over her side. ”Flesh Reconstruction” instantly healed her injuries.

She was good as new in an instant, yet she still gazed oddly at Lance’s lower body, muttering to herself, ”Boss, what was that hard thing you had hidden that poked my butt?”

”Enough talk! Get ready, we have a mission soon,” Lance said darkly, hastily sending her off.

”Yay!” Boudica’s attention instantly shifted. She feared no enemy, only idleness. Staying here was torture—it was just too boring.

Joan watched this inexplicable scene, still somewhat perplexed.

How did the fight end just like that? And how did a simple touch heal the pain?
