Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 637: Horrifying Creature!

Tang Li Xue reflexively wanted to rush toward the screaming sound.

Not because she wanted to help since everyone in this treasure game should be her competitors to win this treasure game, but because she wanted to see what happened there.

But she quickly halted her step as she suddenly thought: ʼNo, this may be a trap!ʼ

Then Tang Li Xue frightfully realized that she somehow actually almost got separated from Yaya and Little Loki!

Without knowing the reason, the three of them were about to run in three different directions!

If not for Tang Li Xue suddenly halted her step and checked at Little Loki and Yaya, they might have been already separated right now.

ʼDamn it~! What an annoying treasure game~!ʼ Tang Li Xue groaned in her heart.

When Tang Li Xue tried to inquire Little Loki and Yaya about it with telepathy, they shook their head in confusion.

Tang Li Xue felt a cold run down her spine.

The creepy dense jungle around her seemed to become even more horrifying than before as if it was alive and trying to swallow her instead!

Drip... Drip... Drip...

Under the darkness of the night sky without moon and stars, Tang Li Xue heard the faint sound of dripping getting closer and closer to her.

Tang Li Xue gnashed her fangs in panic and nervousness.

She really wanted to run away as quickly as she could from here, but she suddenly recalled the third rule of this treasure game.

[Be sure to keep silent and do not move when it is close to you.]

After hesitating for a few moments, Tang Li Xue hastily took back Little Loki and Yaya into her systemʼs pet space and decided to hide alone behind the bushes.

She even planned to dig an underground tunnel using her [Spider Scorpion Transformation] to hide, but she would surely make some noise when she dug, so she immediately denied that plan.

Of course, she could also try to fight and kill ʼitʼ, but since the treasure gameʼs rules never mentioned anything about fighting or killing ʼitʼ, Tang Li Xue instantly deduced that whatever creature ʼitʼ was, that was surely not something they could defeat at their current level.

After hiding behind the tree and bushes, Tang Li Xue closed her topaz blue eyes since the fourth rule was to [never stare at its eyes or it could instantly sense you].

Drip... Drip... Drip...

The sound of dripping had already got so close to her, and she could hear it very clearly right now!

Even though Tang Li Xue had closed her topaz blue eyes, but her [Extrasensory Perception] could still ʼseeʼ the faint figure of the approaching creature.

ʼOh, cr*p~!ʼ Tang Li Xue exclaimed in panic as she hastily shut down her [Extrasensory Perception].

But it was already a bit too late, since ʼitʼ already faintly sensed Tang Li Xue who had already taken a glimpse at its form!

Drip... Drip... Drip...

The dripping sounds got so close to her ears all of a sudden!

Tang Li Xue even sensed warm liquid trickling onto her shoulder.

She almost jumped back in reflex, but she quickly suppressed it as the third rule of the treasure game said to never move when ʼitʼ was close to her.

Tang Li Xue even held her breath as she heard the faint sound of breath that was so close to her!

”Xueʼer~! Are you here?”

Tang Li Xueʼs heartbeat almost stopped when she heard the familiar sound right in her ears!

Yes, she could not be more familiar with this male sound.

This was actually the sound of her big brother!

”Xueʼer~! Please answer~! Big brother is very worried about you~!” The male sound became a lot gentler with the mixed tone between begging and grief.

ʼThis damn ghost~! If I could defeat it, I would have already beaten it to black and blue right now~!ʼ Tang Li Xue complained in her heart.

”Little Xue, come out right now, or I will punish you severely later!”

This time, the sound changed into a firm female sound with an angry tone.

Another familiar voice for Tang Li Xue... This time, it used Instructor Mei Lanʼs voice to lure her out!

Of course, Tang Li Xue would never respond to anything it said, and she kept crouching behind the tree and bushes to hide herself.

ʼItʼ changed the voice several times to Bingbingʼs sound, Elder Yangʼs sound, Silly Foxʼs sound, and so on before it finally lost its patience.

”YoU LiTtLe FoX, LeT Me EaT YoU Or I WiLL CuRsE YoU~!”

The voice became distorted becoming a high-pitched and hoarse sound.

Tang Li Xue almost instantly fainted when the horribly distorted sound entered her ears and struck directly into her consciousness.

Tang Li Xue suddenly had an urge to shout out loud, but she subconsciously bit her tongue to keep herself awake.

After persisting for a while, ʼitʼ snorted angrily and slowly left that place.

Tang Li Xue could even feel its hot breath blowing her silver furs. She shuddered in fright and panic, but still stubbornly remained motionless.

The tension slowly loosened after ʼitʼ left that place for a few more minutes, and Tang Li Xue finally took a deep breath to calm herself down.

When Tang Li Xue regained her composure, she realized that the amount of her energy had already decreased by half.

It seemed when that creature got close to you, it would subconsciously drain any creatureʼs energy near it.

Tang Li Xue wiped the warm liquid dripping from that horrible creature onto her shoulder, and only then she realized that it was actually blood.

Of course, it was surely not that horrible creatureʼs blood, so it should be the blood of its victim.

ʼWhat a horrible creature is that?! Does that horrible creature really exist in reality?ʼ Tang Li Xue asked in her mind.

Before she shut down her [Extrasensory Perception], Tang Li Xue faintly sensed the horrible creatureʼs form.

That horror creature was actually covered with a mass of black fog, so Tang Li Xue could not sense its form clearly, but its murderous cold dreadful aura was enough to make her feel that she had no chance of winning at all.

Tang Li Xue wanted to take out Little Loki and Yaya from her systemʼs pet space so they could help her dispel her fright, but she immediately gave up her intention.

She was really afraid that Little Loki and Yaya would recklessly jump to that horrible creature and fight head-on against ʼitʼ to protect her.

That would be a suicide move, and Tang Li Xue did not want to lose Little Loki or Yaya just because of this treasure game.

Both Little Loki and Yaya did not have the protection of the jade badge like all the participating foxes, so if they died here, they might really die for real.

She would rather choose to be eliminated from this Foxes Hunting Festival than let them fight against that horrible creature.

Shook her head and helplessly thought: ʼIt seems I can only rely on myself this time...ʼ

But from this encounter, Tang Li Xue obtained several crucial information about that monstrous creature.

First, as long as she kept silent and did not move when hiding that horrible creature would have a hard time finding her.

Second, that horrible creature could mimic the voices of people she knew to lure her to answer it.

ʼWait a minute... If it could really mimic the voices of people I know, then does it mean that monstrous creature has the power to read my mind?ʼ Tang Li Xue frowned and pondered for a while.

ʼNo, it should not be... If it could read my mind, it would have already found me long ago. Or maybe it could make hypnotic sounds to let its target hear the familiar voices. Yes, this should be correct.ʼ Tang Li Xue nodded her head.

Third, when that monstrous creature got close to her in a certain radius, it would subconsciously drain her energy! This should be the most fearful ability of that monstrous creature since its target was forced to make a quick decision whether to run farther from it or get their energy drained by that creature until dry!

Tang Li Xue swiftly used her [Moonlight Flickering Flash Step] and ran away from that place as quickly as she could!

Tang Li Xue was truly thankful to her [Ethereal Form] power to pass through any obstacle such as bushes and trees in front of her without any sound, if she had not been in her [Ethereal Form], she would certainly made a lot of noise every time she passes through the bushes.

Just when Tang Li Xue thought that she only needed to hide from that monstrous creature until she won this treasure game...

BOOOOOOOOMM~!

Her silver furry body suddenly got struck by something heavily!

Tang Li Xueʼs [Ethereal Form] got automatically canceled, and she was thrown off dozens of meters!

Tang Li Xue crashed into several huge trees until those trees fell!

She stood up again, but she got moderately injured.

However, it made her remember that she still had not turned on her [Extrasensory Perception] yet, so she quickly did it.
