Reincarnated As a Fox With System

Chapter 438 Hungry Beast Souls!

Fortunately, Tang Li Xue has the [Scepter of Disaster], so she could use the armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons to explore all of the paths in this maze.

This giant maze room was actually more complicated than Tang Li Xueʼs thought.

Even with so many dried corpses and armored skeletons helped her pass through countless dangerous traps and explored all of the paths ahead of her, Tang Li Xue still stuck many times by the dead-end intersections.

Just so you know, Tang Li Xue was actually very bad at this kind of maze trial since she was really easy to get lost.

In fact, Tang Li Xue already lost her way several times previously until she finally learned [Ethereal Form] to pass through any obstacles and [Mapping Sense] to not get lost on her way.

Tang Li Xueʼs armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons might be could not be killed with arrows or blades, but they were vulnerable to flame and thunder traps, so their numbers kept decreasing bit by bit as Tang Li Xue proceed forward deeper into the maze to find the way out.

Although, there were several corpses and skeletons of the previous trial taker in the maze, but their numbers still could not make up for the loss.

Tang Li Xue started to get more nervous and anxious when the total number of her army of death already dwindled by more than half while she still did not know how far she was right now from the exit of this maze.

”Damn it! This maze is really troublesome! Sigh… If only I can use my [Ethereal Form] divine ability here, getting out from this maze would be really easy to do!” Tang Li Xue gnashed her teeth and complained.

After pondering her next moves for a few moments, Tang Li Xue immediately decided to change her strategy.

[Water Mirage]!

When Tang Li Xue used her [Water Mirage], her slender figure started to split into four, then from four to eight, and so on...

Tang Li Xueʼs [Water Mirage] split into twenty-four identical figures of her in an instant, and they started to scatter away to several paths and ran ahead of the armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons.

”This way, I can check what kind of traps lies ahead without losing any of my armies. Even if I run out of Qi or stamina because I used [Water Mirage] too much, I can just take some rest for a while to recover.” Tang Li Xue nodded in satisfaction and felt she was really smart to think of this plan.

It could be said this perfect plan of hers was really a game-changer since Tang Li Xueʼs [Water Mirages] always ran ahead first as the scout, then it would be the ones who will trigger the dangerous traps first.

After the [Water Mirages] checked what kinds of traps ahead of them, Tang Li Xue only need to think of a way to pass through them.

If the traps ahead of them were only blade or arrow traps, the armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons could easily pass through those traps with their undying bodies.

As for Tang Li Xue herself, she could easily pass those traps as long as already she knew their pattern.

If the traps ahead of them were fire or lightning traps, Tang Li Xue must think of a way to disarm those traps first before she and her armies of death continued their way.

Tang Li Xue no longer lost any of her armies of death in this way, but it did not mean her plan has no demerit at all.

Their exploring speed actually dropped quite significantly since Tang Li Xue needed to take some rest once in a while to replenish her Qi and stamina after she used [Water Mirage] tens of times to scout the several paths ahead of them.

The deeper they proceeded, the paths of this maze became even more complicated, and the traps also became even trickier and dangerous than before.

After two days of exploring the big maze, several complicated paths finally converged into one great hall.

But Tang Li Xue still did not dare to lower her guard even a bit, so she decided to let one squad of her armies of death and her [Water Mirage] enter that great hall first.

After one squad of the armored skeletons and Tang Li Xueʼs [Water Mirages] entered the great hall, there was nothing strange or dangerous happened at first so Tang Li Xue decided to lead all of her armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons to enter the great hall too...

BOOOMM~!!! BOOOMM~!!! BOOOMM~!!!

But the thick crystal walls suddenly fell from above after all of them entered the great hall and all of the paths got blocked by those crystal walls in that instant!

”What the hell is happening?! How could...” Tang Li Xue exclaimed in surprise, but before she could finish her words...

RRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRR~!!!

The crystal wall on the ceiling suddenly opened, and several two meters tall black hungry beasts jumped down into the great hall from the hole in the ceiling!

The appearance of those beasts looked like two-headed black dogs.

Their bodies were burly and brimming with strength, but strangely, they sometimes also looked transparent, like a lump of black smoke.

Before Tang Li Xue had any chance to react, those two-headed black dogs already pounced toward Tang Li Xueʼs armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons.

Those two-headed black dogs greedily tore Tang Li Xueʼs armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons apart with their sharp fangs and ate them like hungry tigers in the middle of sheepʼs flock.

Tang Li Xueʼs armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons might be could not be killed by arrows and blades, but getting eaten by these hungry beasts was a different matter altogether.

Tang Li Xueʼs blood rushed to her head as she felt the intense anger surging in her heart.

Tang Li Xue immediately used [Supreme Speed Sword Style] without any hesitation, and her slender figure vanished in that instant.

Transcendence State of [Crouching Tiger Claw]!

PUUFFF~!!!

When Tang Li Xue appeared once again, she already managed to tear the stomach part from one of the hungry beasts with her [Crouching Tiger Claw].

However, the flesh that dropped from the stomach part of the hungry beast turned into black smoke after a few moments, and that hungry beast recovered back to normal.

Tang Li Xue frowned deeply when she saw that scene and clicked her tongue in annoyance: ”Tsk... What a troublesome creature?! If the physical attack will not work, then how about my Flame of Pride!”

From the previous scene, Tang Li Xue had already deduced that these two-headed black dogs were actually some kind of evil spirit almost identical with her armies of death, but more powerful, smarter, and more advanced.

That was also the reason why they did not starve to death when they were already imprisoned here for so long.

Just when Tang Li Xue wanted to burn those hungry two-headed black dogs with her Flame of Pride and quickly kill them to avoid losing more of her armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons, a flash of inspiration suddenly struck her mind.

ʼWait a minute... These two-headed black dogs are a group of evil spirits that almost identical to my armies of undead, right? So, can I use the [Scepter of Disaster] to tame them and make them a part of my armies too? It should be possible, right?!ʼ Tang Li Xueʼs topaz blue eyes were glittering with excitement as she thought about it.

Tang Li Xue raised the [Scepter of Disaster] in her left handʼs grasp and pointed it toward the group of two meters tall two-headed black dogs that were still greedily eating her armies of death, and then...

Nothing happened...

”Err... What should I do now? Should I just hit them with this [Scepter of Disaster]? Or maybe I should chant some mantras or something?” Tang Li Xue tilted her head and murmured in confusion.

But who knew that the group of two-headed black dogs suddenly stared at Tang Li Xue when she pointed the [Scepter of Disaster] toward them.

Tang Li Xueʼs body shuddered violently when she was greedily stared at by the group of two-headed black dogs as if those two-headed black dogs could not wait to swallow her whole.

The group of two-headed black dogs ignored the armies of dried corpses and armored skeletons in that instant and dashed with their full speed, then pounced toward Tang Li Xue as if Tang Li Xue was the most delicious delicacy while the others were just appetizers.

”Damn it! Why the hell are they targeting me right now?!” Tang Li Xue gnashed her teeth and immediately used [Snow Dance Step] to keep her distance from those two-headed black dogs.

Unfortunately for Tang Li Xue, those two-headed black dogs were faster than her even though she already used [Snow Dance Step] to increase her speed.

It did not take long for those two-headed black dogs to corner Tang Li Xue and encircling her from all directions.

Although those two-headed black dogs were all hungry and greedy, but their teamwork was surprisingly impeccable!

When those two-headed black dogs opened their jaws to tear TangLi Xueʼs body and eat her, she suddenly spun her upper body while her feet swiftly took a circular step, then she forcefully brandished her right palm like swinging a sword.

[Sword Art of Mystic Harmony], Repelling Spin!

BAANG~!!! BAANG~!!! BAANG~!!! BAANG~!!!

The four two-headed black dogs were thrown off backward for several meters as Tang Li Xueʼs right palm struck their jaws heavily, but the other two-headed black dogs already followed up with another attack to shred Tang Li Xue apart and ate her.
