Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Chapter 353: Chapter 353: No Woman in the Empire Can Surpass Her

Hu Yi looked at Ao Xinghao’s wary eyes, knowing he didn’t recognize Jun Ruyi, and explained with a grin, ”Ao Chongchong, Sister Jun is one of the rare female drivers in the Empire’s racing world. She’s incredibly skilled! She even won awards abroad before. If she weren’t juggling multiple roles, she would have been as legendary as Rain God by now.”

Ao Xinghao wasn’t as impressed with Jun Ruyi as Hu Yi was.

He lazily said, ”So she’s not legendary, huh? Why are you calling her ’sister’ with such enthusiasm? That ’sister’ of yours is way too cheap.”

Jun Ruyi’s expression slightly changed.

But if she retorted to Ao Xinghao, it would make her seem petty and lacking grace.

So she pretended not to hear it, but her expression soured.

However, Ao Xinghao’s sharp tongue wasn’t going to stop with just one remark.

He bit the grass he was holding in his mouth and suddenly smiled, ”I didn’t hear it clearly earlier, she’s just a backup, right? Not even a main driver?”

Jun Ruyi’s proud face was on the verge of cracking into anger.

No one had ever dared to mock her like this, in her professional realm.

Racing and intelligent monitoring were her two prides, and no woman in the Empire could surpass her.

What does this little brat know?

Hu Yi awkwardly stepped in to mediate, ”Oh, Ao Chongchong, you don’t understand the rules of F1 international racing. In every race, each team can only send two drivers, one main and one backup. If the main driver has an accident midway, the backup can step in. That means the backup has to be very strong to have a chance to compete. Think about it, could someone who can replace Rain God be ordinary? Sister Jun is really impressive!”

Ao Xinghao still sneered, ”Rain God is so great, and he lost last year too. Whether someone is impressive is decided on the track, what’s the point of boasting here for no reason.”

Hu Yi: ”...”

Jun Ruyi: ”...”

Hu Yi regretted introducing Jun Ruyi to Ao Xinghao, feeling he was asking for trouble, and quickly moved away from the sharp-tongued guy, only making small talk with Jun Ruyi, ”Sister Jun, why aren’t you sitting in the driver’s seat?”

Jun Ruyi glanced in the direction of Nalan Ye Jue.

She was supposed to be seated in the driver’s position.

But the driver’s seat was too far away, and she wanted to be closer to that man.

Besides, Rain God was very persistent, unless his arms and legs were broken, he wouldn’t give up easily. So being Rain God’s substitute... she almost never had a chance to compete.

She was distracted and would rather stay closer to Nalan Ye Jue.

The team leader was also cautious of her status, allowing her to do as she pleased.

But this reason, of course, couldn’t be shared with these little brats.

She acted a bit aloof, using the usual haughty manner she had towards racing fans and said, ”I feel like it.”

Yet Hu Yi seemed to buy it.

He couldn’t help but admire talented professionals, almost like a loyal puppy.

Previously it was because of Qin Wenrou’s notes, and now because of Jun Ruyi’s racing skills.

”Mhm, mhm, as long as you’re happy, Sister Jun. If you need anything, just let me know,” Hu Yi said boldly.

Ao Xinghao rolled his eyes.

Idiot.

＝＝

Less than ten minutes to the race start.

Many drivers had already come out of the lounge to greet their fan teams from various countries, especially those two tall, white guys from Asia, who were sending flying kisses to the audience, causing waves of screams.

Qin Wenrou trailed behind the two white guys, acting as an assistant to the translator teacher.

In fact, she couldn’t get a word in, nor understand much of it, and was just there to help the teacher occasionally. Sometimes, the translator had to explain things to her in Chinese to let her know what to do.
