Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Chapter 314: Chapter 314: A Man’s Schemes Run Deep!

After Qin Xin finished showering, Xiao Shuang also went to take a bath.

The living room suddenly fell silent, and Qin Xin and Nalan Ye Jue faced each other silently, with that peculiar awkwardness unique to newlyweds.

So... what should they do?

Qin Xin cleared her throat: ”Mr. Nalan, do you remember the agreement we made when we first met?”

The man gazed at her intently: ”Mm.”

Qin Xin: ”I was thinking, let’s clarify the details of our marriage and set up a gentleman’s agreement.”

After all, this wasn’t a love marriage; it was a traditional arranged marriage, not quite a modern marriage.

It would be best if they could be respectful as guests to each other.

Nalan Ye Jue said calmly: ”Sure, go ahead.”

Summoning her courage, Qin Xin said it all in one go: ”After marriage, we each do what we like. First, we don’t announce the wedding; second, we don’t have kids; third, we don’t share the same bed.”

Nalan Ye Jue listened earnestly to her proposals.

Not announcing the wedding was understandable; since she was still studying, keeping it low-key was best.

Not having kids was his suggestion from the start.

But not sharing the same bed? What was that about?

Nalan Ye Jue gazed at Qin Xin and didn’t object: ”Alright, I’ll agree to all your terms.”

The man agreed so readily that Qin Xin felt a bit embarrassed: ”Mr. Nalan, if you have any requests, feel free to make them.”

Nalan Ye Jue replied calmly: ”No, as long as you’re happy.”

After a few seconds, he added with a smile: ”If I must, can I suggest that you call me... husband in the future?”

”Cough, cough, cough, cough...!” Qin Xin nearly spat out her after-dinner tea.

Nalan Ye Jue handed her a handkerchief, chuckling: ”You can also call me ’husband.’ Or, call me whatever you like, whenever you feel like it. No need to force yourself.”

Qin Xin covered her face.

She shouldn’t have given the man a chance to make a request!!!

Fortunately, Qin Xiaoshuang was quick with her shower.

She was done in a few minutes.

Qin Xin felt a sigh of relief.

Great, no longer tense and alone facing the man, worrying about his tricks.

However.

The next second, when Qin Xiaoshuang spoke, Qin Xin nearly spat out her tea again.

”Sister, brother-in-law, why aren’t you going to bed?”

”I’m sleeping in the guest room downstairs, and you both are in the master bedroom upstairs, right?”

”No need to worry about me. I’ll be in my room doing homework; you guys go rest.”

”I’ll wear headphones to listen to English, so I won’t disturb you.”

Qin Xin: ”...”

The guest room was supposed to be hers!

Moreover, what did she mean by wearing headphones not to disturb them?

Why did that sound suspicious, you little brat!

Qin Xin was terribly embarrassed, but Qin Xiaoshuang seemed very earnest, and Nalan Ye Jue whispered softly in her ear:

”Little wife, you see, even a child knows that newlyweds should stay together. If we sleep in separate rooms on the first day of our engagement, he’ll think we’re not getting along and worry about you. I mean... you wouldn’t want the family to worry about you, right? Xiao Shuang has such good grades; if he’s anxious about us and can’t concentrate on studying, then we’d be the culprits.”

The man’s reasoning was so thorough and logical that it was impossible to refute!

Qin Xin always thought that bringing Qin Xiaoshuang home was her shield to avoid awkwardly close encounters with the man.

But how did Qin Xiaoshuang inexplicably become a catalyst, speeding up their coming together???

Could it be that the man inviting Qin Xiaoshuang home from the start was part of his plan?

She looked at the man’s face, which was full of an expression saying ”I’m only sharing a room and bed with you because of the brother, definitely not breaking the gentleman’s agreement.” She felt like she had fallen deep into the man’s scheme!
