Madame is Pretending to be an Academic Slacker Again!

Chapter 6: Chapter 6: The Man in the Wheelchair

Nalan Ye Jue.

A titan of the Imperial City’s business world, no one knows the extent of the wealth he controls or the reach of his influence.

The only thing known is that this man is not to be trifled with.

Countless stars seemed to reflect in his eyes, while he sat silently in a wheelchair, saying nothing, as if the air around him had frozen.

For a long time.

An attendant carefully opened a crack in the door to report, ”Young Master Jue, the young miss at school...”

”Causing trouble again?” The man’s voice was cool, sparing with words.

”Ahem, she hit someone, and the parents are banding together to demand the school expel her...” the attendant reported meticulously.

”Fool...” the man said coldly.

The attendant wiped his sweat, ”Yes, the young miss isn’t very bright, even scoring 60 on final exams is difficult for her, and now she’s fighting with classmates, so you see...”

The man’s cold gaze swept sharply, ”Get out!”

The attendant shivered, ”Young Master Jue, how should we handle the young miss then...”

From the sofa in the suite, a voice suddenly chimed in with glee, ”Lu Bing, you’re not being a very conscientious secretary, daring to bother your master with women’s affairs. When has your master ever cared about women? He only cares about robots! Robots! How’s your Nalan Group’s smart robot development coming along? If one day a robot can get in a fight and pick up girls at school, now that would be big news that would concern your master!”

Incredibly, there was another man at the dim end of the suite!

This man wore a white suit, sat with his legs crossed, leaning against the sofa with a glass of red wine, his smirk devil-may-care, a stark contrast to Nalan Ye Jue’s calm and icy demeanor.

Bai Chi.

The young master of the Bai Family, a renowned medicine family in the Imperial City.

Lu Bing dared not offend, ”Young Master Bai, your meaning is...”

”Lu Bing Bing, haven’t you understood yet? The woman you mentioned is just the foolish girl picked up by the Nalan Family? Your young master threw her into the countryside and ignored her for so many years. Can’t you see? He’s just leaving her to fend for herself. Did you really think she’s the Nalan Family’s child bride who could one day become the family matriarch? That ugly—”

Bai Chi was zealously ”educating” the clueless secretary, Lu Bing.

But who would have thought.

Just as he uttered the word ”ugly.”

Nalan Ye Jue suddenly interrupted coldly, ”Expelled!”

The temperature in the air seemed to drop several degrees suddenly!

Lu Bing hesitated, ”This...”

The final examination was supposed to be an opportunity; if the young miss could average 60 in a few subjects, she would have a chance to continue her studies.

Now with the young master ordering her expulsion, everything was over.

Bai Chi, on the other hand, seemed quite pleased, ”I knew your Young Master Jue well, right? That girl going to school is just a waste of money; after all, it’s bad enough that she’s ugly, but she’s also dull-headed...”

Who would have thought.

The word ”dull” hadn’t even finished when he was interrupted by Nalan Ye Jue again.

”Why haven’t you gone yet!” Nalan Ye Jue ordered in a rare few words, ”Take my card to Principal Zhou and go through special procedures.”

Lu Bing’s eyes lit up, ”Yes!”

As he was leaving, he glanced at Bai Chi, Young Master Bai, though you are indeed a good friend to our young master, to be honest, you really don’t understand our young master.

But Bai Chi didn’t think so.

He sat with his legs crossed, swirling his glass of wine, ”Expulsion is right! Jue, I knew you wouldn’t waste time on women. Come on, let’s keep working on your Nalan Group’s robots, our Bai’s Pharmacy wants to order the first batch; give your brother an 80% discount!”

He had just given Nalan Ye Jue the order contract.

But the Young Master seemed deep in thought, gazing at the stars and not at the contract.

He wasn’t even allowed to call in some lively female companions to drink and lift his spirits.

He was extremely bored, having already watched several short clips on his phone, stuck on the sofa!

Finally.

Nalan Ye Jue spoke up again, calmly—
