Lust System: Harem Of Beautiful Women

Chapter 984 Banquet Started

There was also a biological younger sister, the legendary young aunt, who had married far away and could not make it back in time. As for where she had married to, Luis did not know.

Each table could seat eight people. The main table was set up in the living room. Originally Grandma Wood should have sat in the seat of honor, but this time they did not want to be so particular about it.

Grandma Wood sat at a table with her old best friends, and they had even started drinking, in very high spirits. At this time there was no need to fuss over these things.

On Arthurʼs left was naturally his legal wife Ruth, and Suzanne was also very humble and smart enough not to dare sit on his right. Instead, she sat on Ruthʼs side.

It had to be said that this attitude was very proper. At least Ruth was very satisfied.

If she really had sat one on the left and one on the right, looking like an old father-in-law enjoying the happiness of two wives, perhaps Ruth would have flipped the table over.

Suzanne gave Luis a grateful and kind smile, because Luis had reminded her in advance. Of course, this was purely borrowing flowers to offer to Buddha. She was a smart woman.

Since she had come and behaved so humbly, she had probably thought of this point long ago.

What made her happy was Luisʼs goodwill. Last time when she had run into Brook and Luis coming out of the hotel, there had been a bit of a knot in her heart. That knot had now become unimportant.

On Arthurʼs left hand side were Grandma Woodʼs biological younger brother, that is, Arthurʼs little uncle, then the in-laws Darlan and his wife, and then the two sons-in-law, Luis and Daniel.

Grandma Woodʼs biological younger brother. In the countryside, the status of in-laws and maternal uncles had always been very high. This arrangement was very reasonable.

As soon as the banquet started, the dishes were served like flowing water. In order to let the old lady have some glory, this time it could indeed be considered a grand affair.

The main dishes were steamed leopard coral grouper, steamed lobster with pasta, stir-fried mud crab with ginger and scallions, one portion per person of American ginseng stewed abalone, and squab stewed with morel mushrooms.

There were ten dishes in total. Ten out of ten, perfect in every way, was the local custom. Most of them were mainly seafood, and all of them were serious, substantial dishes.

”Come, come, brother-in-law, have a drink. Daniel, are you not going to toast your father-in-law?”

Over at the main table, the toasts were already going back and forth. Darlan was originally like a fish in water at the drinking table, and the old uncle of the Wood family was also a talkative old drunkard. The two hit it off immediately, truly birds of a feather.

After eating and drinking for a while, Arthur cleared his throat and said, ”Our family should go toast the guests now.”

This was the custom here. As long as it was a happy occasion with a banquet, the host family had to go table by table to toast.

The host family was Arthur, the eldest son. The elders like the old lady of course did not need to go, so as the younger generation, they all had to go together.

Lily, Leah, and Nancy, the three sisters, were all at other tables eating with their respective friends. After being called, they all came over together holding their wine glasses.

Of course, his wife Lily had a big belly and was wearing a maternity dress. The juice in her cup would not be something anyone would hold against her.

Luis and Daniel, as sons-in-law, also had to go together. At this time Suzanne was sitting honestly. Ruth suddenly said lightly, ”Leah, call Wesley and Cecilia over too.”

”Ruth...”

Suzanne, and even Arthur, both had faces full of surprise.

After all, they had discussed this part themselves. They definitely had to avoid it and stay far away, to avoid making Ruth unhappy. As for the legal wifeʼs irritable temper, he still had some idea in his heart.

Leah agreed and ran over. Just now these two children had been at the same table as her. Although they were shy and reserved, they were already calling her third sister very smoothly.

This was the result of Leah deliberately getting close to them. Absolutely with ill intentions. What depressed Daniel was that he did not have this chance.

The siblings came over timidly. Ruth already had the feeling of being the one in charge of the household. She said with a smile, ”They are young, so they can just drink cola.”

As she spoke, she took Suzanneʼs hand. Suzanne, who was dumbfounded, only now reacted.

Ruth said gently, ”Since they are already here, there is no need to be awkward. These two children are, after all, flesh and blood of the Wood family. From childhood to now they have also suffered no small amount of grievance.”

”They probably have never experienced this kind of rural liveliness. At this time going with us to toast is also only natural.”

Seeing her son and daughter, their eyes shining with the excitement brought by curiosity, holding their tall glasses as if very much looking forward to it, eager to try.

Suzanne was so moved for a moment that tears were already welling up in her eyes. Covering her mouth, she said, ”Ruth, then, then you take them along.”

Ruth shook her head and said gently, ”You come along too. Anyway, this matter has already caused a huge uproar and is no secret.”

”It is just that this old bastard got off cheap. Look at how smug he is, pretending to be decent with that cheap look all over his face.”

Being cursed at like this, Arthur was not angry at all. He was astonished at Ruthʼs current gentle attitude. To be honest, he would never in his dreams have imagined that this shrew could be so magnanimous to this extent.

”In-law, you take the lead, what are you dazed for.”

Darlan patted him and secretly gave a thumbs up, almost shouting out ”awesome.”
