The Villainess Just Wants to Clear the Game

Chapter 131: Chapter 58: Frequent Reports of Victory

Why... had he come looking for her?

The young man couldn’t help but follow this line of thought. He had targeted Lilia because she possessed a special kind of magic—one capable of inflicting massive casualties on demons. So, he had intended to capture or kill her before this information could be sent out. Considering she might tell those close to her, he couldn’t spare a single living creature in the city.

...Wait.

She possessed a... special kind of magic capable of inflicting massive casualties on demons?!

The young man finally realized something was wrong. Just as he tried to pull back and retreat, a surge of tremendous energy suddenly erupted from underground.

In an instant, it was as if ten mages had gone all out, simultaneously unleashing the strongest attacks of their lives. The blast was so powerful that even the distant Servali City was affected. If the Defense Array hadn’t just been repaired, those dilapidated city walls might not have even withstood the shockwave of the explosion alone. If just the shockwave nearly caused devastating damage, one could only imagine the fate of the young man at the epicenter of the blast.

The fierce air currents violently sent the figure in pitch-black armor flying. He crashed heavily into the ground and lay motionless.

Lilia had already used Phantom Magic to escape before the explosion. Now, her true form appeared a short distance away. She stepped forward, approaching with vigilance, but soon realized it was entirely unnecessary—not because the young man had lost the ability to resist, but because...

”It’s a fake.”

The broken body lying on the ground was also just a phantom.

”Lilia!” Seeing that the battle was over, Veronica rushed to Lilia’s side. ”How is it? Are you hurt?”

Lilia shook her head. ”I’m fine. It’s just a pity that he got away.”

”High-level Demons are inherently hard to kill.” With a casual swing of her sword, Veronica sent a fierce gale that scattered the broken body on the ground. She didn’t know the young man’s true identity, only assuming he was a high-level entity leading the demons. ”But since he didn’t stay and chose to flee instead, it means he was heavily injured in that battle just now.”

Veronica was in high spirits. This was a great victory! If she had known they could achieve such a result, she would have sent people to track down those Low-level Demons in advance. With their leader defeated, they would definitely fall into chaos. This was the best time to counterattack!

Lilia easily saw through her thoughts. ”Lucian has already taken men to hunt them down.”

Veronica’s eyes widened.

”If nothing unexpected happens,” Lilia smiled, ”the crisis in Seville will soon be resolved.”

And it wouldn’t just be Seville. As long as Caius and the others didn’t find a way to counter the Magic Crystal Bombs, it would be difficult for the demons to advance even a single step further into the Light Kingdom. Even if the ensuing war didn’t stop, the situation would no longer be as one-sided as before; at most, it would turn into a prolonged stalemate.

By then, the Lien family would have to face the combined threat of the Light Kingdom and Ovis. Who would emerge victorious was anyone’s guess.

”You...” Veronica uttered, looking surprised.

Lilia nodded modestly. ”I did think of this beforehand. But even so, I wasn’t entirely sure it would be a hundred percent successful. After all, the demons could have hidden in the Spirit Realm...”

”I can’t believe you entrusted such an important task to that Williams instead of me!”

This sudden accusation left Lilia frozen in place.

...Wait a minute.

Was this really the time to be discussing that?

But from Veronica’s perspective, the outcome of the battle was already set in stone. If they didn’t discuss it now, when would they?

”I knew it.” Veronica clenched her fists. ”I knew that guy was up to no good.”

Once this war was over, she had to make him scram back to Ovis immediately, never to set foot on Light’s territory again!

Feeling Veronica’s deep resentment, Lilia felt a bit helpless. It was true that Lucian had to return to Ovis after the war ended. However... if nothing unexpected happened, she would be following him there shortly after.

If Veronica found out about this...

No, it was better to avoid unnecessary trouble. It was best to keep it a secret.

...

With Lucian leading the troops back in triumph, this military operation achieved complete success.

The main force of the Demon Army had suffered heavy casualties, and even their leader was severely injured and forced to flee in panic. Furthermore, as the news of their victory reached the Royal Capital Magic Academy, Magic Crystal Bombs began appearing across various battlefields.

This was a formidable weapon for dealing with the Demon Army. Most importantly, the bombs needed to absorb a sufficient amount of energy to detonate, meaning they only affected demons. If used against humans—who couldn’t provide that extra energy input—the so-called bombs would simply revert into ordinary ores. Not only would they fail to cause any damage, but they would also inadvertently provide the enemy with a massive amount of resources.

Unable to find a countermeasure in time, the Lien Kingdom’s invasion plan was on the verge of total collapse. The armies that had originally pushed deep into the heartland of the Light Kingdom were forced to retreat. Vast swathes of occupied territory were reclaimed by troops led jointly by Lilia and Veronica.

As victory reports were continuously sent back to Hillflan, the gloomy clouds that had once shrouded the Royal Capital instantly dissipated, replaced by an overwhelming sense of jubilation. Even the King heaped praise upon Lilia and Veronica, and the gifts scheduled to be bestowed upon them had already piled up like a mountain.

[Time flew by.]

[Half a year passed in a flash.]

[During this half-year, you had been constantly leading troops in battle. The continuous fighting on the battlefield resulted in a massive increase in your combat experience.]

[Your Constitution +10.]

[The army you led grew increasingly large. Every time you passed through a town, a group of young people was drawn to join your forces in reclaiming the lost territories.]

[With the help of Jennifer and Veronica, you consistently managed to achieve the greatest results with the minimum number of casualties. This made your subordinates even more fiercely loyal to you.]

[Your Charm +10.]

[After all the demons were expelled from the territory of the Light Kingdom, you and Veronica led the army back to the Capital.]

[On the day you returned to Hillflan, crowds of people surged along both sides of the main avenue.]

[All the residents of Hillflan gathered there, just to catch a glimpse of the hero who had led the army to triumph over the demons.]

[Now, even looking across the entire Light Kingdom, the name Lilia Seville was known to all.]

[For a time, your limelight was unmatched; no one could overshadow your prestige.]

[On the day you returned to the Capital, the King and your siblings all came out to welcome you. Adrian, Leo, and Chris were all in the reception line.]

[The way they looked at you was no longer the way they used to look at a harmless little sister. Instead, it was more like they were looking at a monster so powerful it was somewhat terrifying.]

[You did not feel surprised or saddened by this. Instead, you launched a coup d’état at the fastest possible speed.]
